* Subclass Quests - RNG
* Strikes - RNG
* Crucible modes - RNG
* Light Level - RNG
* Mods - RNG
* Faction gear - RNG
* Vendors - RNG
* Raid rewards - RNG
* Trials rewards - RNG
* Public Event rewards - RNG
* Clan rewards - RNG
* Shaders - RNG
* Sparrows, ships, and ghosts - RNG from Eververse (and no more drops from raids, events, etc)
* Ammo - RNG (and yellow bars dont always drop heavy!)
* Weapons - STATIC ROLLS, no more rerolling to customize perks
* Skill trees - STATIC TREES, no more mixing skills to customize playstyle
* Infusion - STATIC 1:1 INFUSIONS, no more infusing any primary into any primary to customize playstyle, you get locked into using whatever weapons are highest light. So even if you prefer scout rifles, you'll probably get stuck with a useless sidearm
* Clan - STATIC EXPERIENCE BAR, only 10,000 xp a week regardless of clan size. Does not scale. Large clans fill this in a few hours and get bored, small clans struggle all week
* Perks - NO RNG PERKS - Luck in the chamber and similar perks have all been nerfed right out of the game and replaced with useless things instead
* Xur - NO EXOTIC ENGRAMS - Xur now only sells starter/trash gear for a few shards. No more engrams, no more coins, no more weapon bundles, no more AMMO SYNTHS
* Raid - NO RAID PERKS/LACK OF DROPS - Remember when raid gear helped you do better in raids with specific perks? NERFED. All these Calus coins from beating checkpoints and opening the locked chests, I should be able to at least buy cosmetic raid gear right? NOPE- SLOT MACHINE.
Overall Destiny 2 is a much worse, heavily nerfed version of Destiny 1 based on these facts that are clear to anyone. Poor design choices all around. All the wrong things are RNG. 99,999 glimmer isnt enough when you need to blow 300,000 to get one RNG kinetic mod from the gunsmith to raise your light level. Shaders should be single use, but RE-USABLE - as in able to unequip them and apply them to a new piece of gear. Vendors should actually SELL STUFF, not just be casino slot machines all over. Strikes and crucible modes should be manually selectable, not RNG everytime. Clans need rework, as other than 4 clan engrams a week, theres not any other point to them, not even clan based pvp modes or anything.
Destiny 2's biggest problem besides RNG is lack of content. Once you get your 4 clan engrams, beat trials and the raid, theres nothing left to do all week besides grind boring public events. Lost Sectors arent the "mini-raids" we were promised. Patrol and high value targets are unrewarding. Strike playlist isnt rewarding at all, and crucible is too random. No more grinding legendary engrams to manually boost light level, as all normal purples drop 10 light levels lower than what you need to even break even! No more grinding for god roll guns. No more grinding for OP exotics. No more leveling up gear. No more grind at all really, and the grind was a vital part of D1.
Hopefully Destiny 3 will be the game Luke Smith promised Destiny 1 to be, as the first 2 games certainly fell very short. Perhaps a drastic change in leadership over at Bungie is necessary to improve this franchise.
TLDR - Destiny 2 nerfed the best parts of D1 and replaced them with bad RNG designs and lack of content

I agree with this post regarding skill trees, infusion, clans, and raid drops. What is MOST disappointing to me is the skill trees. If I had my way, there would be a third attunement/way/codex for each subclass, and perks could be mixed and matched between them. The attunements/ways/codexes should serve as suggestions as to how to customize your perks, not as individual options themselves.

Lookin' for RNG in all the wrong places, looking for RNG.
-
What you consider the best parts of Destiny lead to millions of people quitting in 2014 and early 2015 Don't forget that you're the minority of original Destiny players that actually lasted this long

Agreed.

4 RepliesEdited by Redacted1607: 9/18/2017 5:39:05 PM* Subclass Quests – RNG Really…. I didn’t even get off EDZ before I got both for all 3 builds.. * Strikes – RNG um D1 strike rotations were the same * Crucible modes – RNG this will change * Light Level – RNG if you pay attention you would have figure out how to get around this * Mods – RNG – not different than loot drops for the new system * Faction gear – RNG ok… * Vendors – RNG ok… * Raid rewards – RNG and?? This is different how? * Trials rewards – RNG This is different how? * Public Event rewards – RNG not that different. What is is that you always get a reward win or lose… and by RNG you could get an exotic engram * Clan rewards – RNG it says Beta on the thing so * Shaders – RNG – T this is different how? * Sparrows, ships, and ghosts - RNG from Eververse (and no more drops from raids, events, etc) could be different but as they don’t provide anything to power level not sure its needed for the 5% of players who care * Ammo - RNG (and yellow bars dont always drop heavy!) yellow didn’t always drop ammo in D1.. what were you playing. Again learn how to get around this * Weapons - STATIC ROLLS, no more rerolling to customize perks I think the new system is better. No more elitest rubbing it in that they can dominate pvp with the God roll while all other get to enjoy the struggle. Makes things more stream line * Skill trees - STATIC TREES, no more mixing skills to customize playstyle this was obviously done to prevent certain skills being pared that are wayyyy to op when combined…..wombo combo much…(might still be a thing) * Infusion - STATIC 1:1 INFUSIONS, no more infusing any primary into any primary to customize playstyle, you get locked into using whatever weapons are highest light. So even if you prefer scout rifles, you'll probably get stuck with a useless sidearm This is by far the best change. Now u actually have to play the game to reach max level.. Imagine that. I don’t have to be sad when my no life friends are around the same level as I am and I only play in the evenings * Clan - STATIC EXPERIENCE BAR, only 10,000 xp a week regardless of clan size. Does not scale. Large clans fill this in a few hours and get bored, small clans struggle all week ok you got me. I would also like a higher cap for each member.. like 100k cap * Perks - NO RNG PERKS - Luck in the chamber and similar perks have all been nerfed right out of the game and replaced with useless things instead said something above on this * Xur - NO EXOTIC ENGRAMS - Xur now only sells starter/trash gear for a few shards. No more engrams, no more coins, no more weapon bundles, no more AMMO SYNTHS don’t need synths when ammo is a plenty. Id rather look fwd to a few common exotics being sold than the better ones that take away the fun fact that I have it and other don’t. * Raid - NO RAID PERKS/LACK OF DROPS - Remember when raid gear helped you do better in raids with specific perks? NERFED. All these Calus coins from beating checkpoints and opening the locked chests, I should be able to at least buy cosmetic raid gear right? NOPE- SLOT MACHINE. it is certainly not my favorite system most specifically for raid and raid gear….but ill live with it Overall Destiny 2 is a much worse, heavily nerfed version of Destiny 1 based on these facts that are clear to anyone. Poor design choices all around. All the wrong things are RNG. 99,999 glimmer isnt enough when you need to blow 300,000 to get one RNG kinetic mod from the gunsmith to raise your light level. 999999 glimmer cap is just fine. Its called playing the game to obtain more glimmer. overall you speak a lot to hating the slot machine aspect but then preach about needing to be able to stand at a vender and cash in 1billion glimmer for the god rolls…. Wait that’s really familiar to something I was just reading…hmmm There is plenty of grind in D2. Yeah its new and there are a lot of things to come. PS. If you no life a game then yeah its gonna dry up fast

10 RepliesClan engrams? Would be nice if you even got what your clan earned 100 percent of the time. Still haven't gotten my nightfall and crucible clan engrams and it's hours before reset.
-
I'm actually fine with the rng. It's pretty forgiving. Exotics and legendary engrams drop like candy. In Y1 of Destiny, legendaries were even more rare than exotics are now. I love the static rolls. I hated grinding for a usable roll in D1. Its really nice to know exactly what the perks are when someone in pvp is using it or if you're recommending a gun to someone on your raid team. It makes so much more sense to have static rolls since there are multiple guns of the same archetype. In D1 there was always one that had slightly better stats therefore made the others useless.
-
Sad part of this is that all of the opposite was whined about in d1. Now RNG is to stupid 4 exotics, weapon perks couldn't balance the game now they suck. Find armor with good perks, it's the ugliest thing there is. And now there is no grind.
-
Edited by B00ZE CLUEZ: 9/18/2017 6:07:10 PMStatic weapons are good Edit: this isnt destiny 1, if you want destiny 1 components, go play destiny 1. Or go play a different game, all you are doing is complaining.
-
15 RepliesI'm shocked at the responses here. D1 was pure trash at launch and a year later.
-
I agree without of what you're saying, I do however kinda like the "non rng" weapons perks. I don't like the static perks, but thinking back to an idea I had in D1 when perks became an issue (high RoF pulses getting hammered for mag size and hi-cal) in which you'd have the classic three tiered perk tree from D1 but you were able to choose the perks yourself. Say you had a scout rifle, you applied xp or motes until you unlock the optics customization node and chose up to 3 optics to switch between. You continue to level the weapon and unlock tier 1 perk and choose 1 perk from a pool of tier 1 perks. The tier 1, 2 and 3 perk pools are all different and are unique to the weapon type (no headseeker on scouts or autos, sorry). These perks, once chosen are fixed and can only be changed by reroll at the gunsmith. A reroll resets all xp applied to the weapon and you start over.
-
Edited by Killmonger: 9/18/2017 5:45:53 PMYou forgot character customization trash. Also the PS4 exclusive gear can now only be obtained through eververse so either pay or hope you get a bright engram through rng and the actual armor through rng.
-
3 Replies"Shaders should be single use, but RE-USABLE - as in able to unequip them and apply them to a new piece of gear." That's LITERALLY the opposite of Single-use.
-
1 ReplyTechnically, everyone is EARNING their gear now, as opposed to buying it all. Remember when scrubs thought buying stuff was earning it?
-
5 RepliesThe static rolls and static sub-class trees..... That's the problem with D2. If we had random rolls and fully customisable subclasses this game would be amazing. At present the static rolls make this game have a very defined lifespan for me as a gamer. D1, I could play forever chasing that agg balls matador..... D2, I get Nameless Midnight and there's nothing else to know about that gun. No idea why Bungie though the static weapon rolls would benefit the game. The D1 vendors got around the rng by selling a couple of god rolls so everyone had a good weapon to start off with.
-
2 RepliesLuke Smith wanted people to say there was too much content. And there is too much useless content. The adventures do not reward players, lost sectors are pointless, the only reason to do a patrol is clan rep, the strikes are few in variety and pointless in loot, flashpoints are the only reason to do a public event (yes I know the tiny chance of an exotic after hours of events, but that is not worth the time), the end game is the raid, the nightfall, and trials. It is already a content drought weeks in.
-
2 RepliesScam of the year
-
1 ReplyYou probably don't play vanilla if you're claiming this. Everything you just said has had rng in destiny 1 except the subclasses. The subclasses aren't hard to get at all. Stop being a drama queen and focusing on the least of the problems. Rng has been changef for the better to satisfy children like you but you always have something to whine about.

4 RepliesI can't even bring myself to want to do this raid. Tripling the mechanics with no boss fights was a huge mistake. Who in the hell decided that running through hoops (literally) was a good idea. Do task A, do task B, engage boss. It was a wonderful formula. Now their idea of fun is everyone has to do one task, in a certain order, at a specific time, several times. No boss. All while talking over one another. Oh, and let's add artificial difficulty by limiting revives. I think the emperor encounter looks fun, but the rest is utter nonsense.

Edited by CatMan: 9/18/2017 5:35:18 PMTrying 2 get everyone use 2 gambling. RNG events right around the corner. Doesn't help that all these fanboys and undercover dev keep saying " stop complaining", and making excuses. No wonder the game won't grow to its full potential. God I hope anthem is good.

Quit complaining and enjoy the game nerd

You should try No Man's Sky.

1 ReplyDude I really don't think you remember the original Destiny all too well if you're complaining about RnG. Year one Destiny was nothing but RnG. When Destiny first released there was Vault of Glass, Nightfall, Iron Banner, and the Queens Rep (wasn't there for long). If you completed the raid on all your characters you were pretty much screwed until next week. The Dark Below? They left the previous raid behind. Same concept. One raid, all RnG. All exotics, except for quests were RnG. House of Wolves brought Etheric Light which made previous raids relevant to an extent however the only way to obtain end game gear was through RnG. Then Taken King came. It became much easier to get to the end game through the new infusion system. 3oC let random exotics drop which helped with the RnG grind. Rise of Iron was the worst DLC to date. It was a DLC of handouts. I remember getting my Gjallahorn out of the Vault of Glass exotic chest and I screamed when it happened. In Rise of Iron they handed them out like candy on Halloween through easy quests. Original Destiny was always RnG. Way worse than Destiny 2 RnG. There are so many more opportunities to get end game rewards in D2. It's called a grind for a reason. Stop asking for handouts.

Edited by Talonia_: 9/18/2017 5:27:46 PMRaid weapons have 2 traits instead of 1 that's what makes them unique

5 RepliesAfter three yrs of destiny 1 we are now on week 2 of of destiny 2 and I'm bored. Gotta wait for Tuesday to do anything. I won't be playing this for 6 months much less 3 yrs and that breaks my heart. Truly love destiny but they -blam!-ed up. There is no reason to grind
