So by most, I'm a so called hater that's been weary of the changes of Destiny 2 and is against things Bungie has said up until recently. This however I'll be putting aside as something that whatever side your on needs to be brought up. I've been noticing recently that any Destiny related content on Youtube have been getting demonetized recently. Just from looking at what was striked as "not family friendly" or whatever and what Youtube said that it had "matured" content. As it stands destiny is a T RATED GAME. there was nothing wrong in the title or thumbnail and everything looks ok but somehow youtube deems it unworthy. Now I'm not asking for anyone to do any boycotts or anything like that as that's not helping anyone but rather, get Bungie to see this as there are advertisements on youtube while this is happening.
Dear BUNGIE,
as a "hater" fan of destiny, please look into this as youtube is striking down videos that stops future players of this franchise. I may not be the biggest fan of you, that doesn't mean however, I want Destiny 2 to fail.
Sincerely,
sab

Good. Now content creators will have no incentive to make cash grabs.

6 RepliesReminder that gamers are seen as ''right-wing'' and these videos are getting demonitized for ''hate speech''.
-
Its not just Destiny youtubers. Its everyone. Youtube seems hell bent on handing all its gaming channels over to Twitch 🙄
-
Demonitized? I'm fairly certain that word does not mean what you think it does.
-
3 RepliesK no one cares. Hope this kills off streamer channels so bungie won't choose to listen to them over the entire community anymore.
-
Good. They literally get views and paid for click-bait posting information that's already known.
-
As long as MoreConsole keeps putting out those super informative vids we should be good.
-
great less videos about every little detail of anything Destiny. Once the box art comes out, there will be 300 videos about the -blam!-ing font used.
-
Youtube is going to do what they want to do. Unfortunately, the only way to stop their bullshit is to boycott them, but that's not viable for many content creators.
-
You tube is ass to content creators

Good.

Good.

1 ReplySo how many "Unboxing" Destiny collectors edition" videos do you need to see?

I think You Tube is probably trying to deter superfluous uploads. These aren't quality videos, they're a waste of space. They really need to get a real job and have the you tube be supplemental income so they quit making asses out of themselves on YouTube with daily BS speculation.
-
It's YouTube going full liberal safe space. Anything conservative or with excess swearing is getting demonitized or worse, removed as "hate speech"

Good.

Ugh YouTube get your shit together otherwise your gonna be dead I'm surprised YouTube hasn't gone down the drain already with the new changes!
-
Bungie has absolutely no control over this. This is entirely on Youtube.

Google/YouTube will either get this sorted out or this may be exactly as they intend it to be. Advertisers may not be the ones consuming the content, but they are the ones paying for the advertisement. If they collectively voted with their wallets, this may be the new reality. From what I can tell, nobody is stopping anyone from uploading videos, they are just not being paid for advertising any more. Obviously, this may reduce the number of videos being created. If this change is permanent and folks still want to get paid, then they will either need to adapt or find a different line of work.

Best news I've heard in a long time.

Edited by RavenousLD3341: 8/22/2017 1:32:44 PMEvery gaming related channel has been hit. Advertisers have been freaking out over their ads showing up on videos that include actual violence, hate speech, racism and crap like that. So advertisers have been running away from YouTube because they don't believe that YouTube can properly control where their ads end up, and these companies don't want to be associated with certain things on YouTube. With that being explained. YouTube may have overreacted a bit and was too aggressive in filtering content to lure back advertisers, that's how they make their money after-all. So they are trying to tweak their algorithm to make sure that FAMILY FRIENDLY, and MORE MODERATE gaming channels start getting ad revenue again. Until then these YouTubers are just going to have to i dunno.... get a job outside of YouTube, or better diversify their income streams (which they should have done a long time ago) by setting up other places where their supporters can give them money. Also, This isn't a Bungie problem that Bungie can control. It's up to YouTube to fix this.
Plus... my sympathy for YouTubers is non-existent.
I have seen Destiny YouTubers, some that clickbait and make shit content, while I have also seen most majority that make genuinely good content (lore channels). Honestly, if said Destiny YouTuber does clickbait and milk the video to 10 minutes so they can put 1000 mid roll ads, with details and GTA 6-like theories, then yeah, they don’t need their content monetized.
-
It isn't just destiny content, the majority of you tubers in general seem to be getting the shaft.

Been wondering whats been going on on youtube. Content has dropped of a cliff recently. Not just gaming vids but everything.
