Yes, there was people this time around to fill up queues faster, but in general how was the connection quality during the time in the beta?
What doesn't count is getting sent to orbit, or not being able to log in (these were going to happen in the beta)

It seemed about the same although now masked by no connection bars.

I had one very funny incident but honestly nothing rage inducing. I thought the connection quality was great and matchmaking was also really quick
-
I played on each day of the beta, including the extended dates, and experienced no issues.
-
2 RepliesI'm sure you played every waking hour it was out
-
Never had any error codes or lag issues. It was excellent.
-
Great I had no issues and I average at best internet
-
Great no issues
-
I would say 99% was great. Though I had a few weird rounds where I would drop into a match and there would be no one around for 10-20 seconds. Just roaming around. Finally all hell would break loose and all players would appear. I wasn’t sure if we all had the same experience at the same time (seemed to be a few seconds of collective confusion) or if it was me having potato internet issues for a minute.
-
I only came across 2 people who were noticeably lagging, though I did only play a few games.

Edited by GRAYFOX-SVT: 7/30/2017 5:38:42 PMWhen they extended the beta they said they would be trying some new things connection wise. This is the only time I had issues. When tying to load into a PVP match I got stuck at the black screen. Had to exit the game and leave. Saw a few players that were lagging but figured that was due more to their connection than the servers.
-
It was no different besides getting in game faster, laggy players still lagged. But 4 players means less chances of running into laggers, so better perhaps? But then so many people quit soon as they encounter someone lagging, and they create a 25% imbalance in play, so perhaps worse overall? I still have hope, it was not fail, and bungee still could add a 4v4v4v4 game mode.

Hit registration felt weird and I still had a bunch of instances of "behind cover no line of sight but still dead" which made hunter dodge feel even worse imo. Otherwise the D2 beta was really good compared to like an average iron banner in D1.
-
I only played 3 games with no issues, that includes guns actually doing their job since on Destiny entering a game isn't enough.
-
Still plenty of issues, kinda hoped it'd be better but meh. You never realize how bad it is till you play a halo or battlefield... Where its so good you don't even think about it. It's like playing ol split screen again 😉
-
Played lots of PVP during the beta only encounter bad connection 5 times. It's still an issue but hopefully the beta was for that to test there connection. That being said its an improvement.

2 RepliesThe problem I have is that you're still being matched with people half way across the planet. And honestly they should display actual pings instead of bar color. Myself, living in the Netherlands I was matched sometimes with people from Iraq also a little closers but still not good people from Italy or Spain. Even if I would play on a dedicated server in those countries, my ping would suck. For me matchmaking with countries should be max Netherlands(obviously), Germany, UK, Belgium. Still this would not guarantee crisp gameplay because there are still people playing on bad connections. But it would seriously improve the overall quality.

According to the poll even on this biased board, as of 10am est, 57% have experienced at least some issues (not including that the game sucks). Souds about right ......within + 10-15 pct pt standard bnet adjustment, of course.
-
A couple jumpy players, but more uneven starts. There were multiple matches where bungie decided to put me 1v4 or 2v4.
-
It was just a little worse than D1 when you ignore the total disconnection issues. But then I don't really see that many laggy D1 matches as a percentage of games played It seemed more prone to frozen unkillable players than D1 (likely that player disconnecting/getting booted but remaining in my simulation for a bit) and less prone to randomly teleporting ones. If that's the tradeoff and they're not running around in other simulations killing people it's a good one. My bigger concern was seeing a fairly high number of game leavers who were not replaced. In 4v4 games that now emphasize teamshooting as the most viable strategy that's much more of a problem than it was in 6v6s

1 ReplyI had a few matches where I noticed five ships flying in. Well wait that isn't right. Then the screen went black randomly.
-
1 ReplyI use 5 mbps Wifi, and my connection in pvp was a little hazy but not that bad. Trying to switch to cable without drilling holes in my house. Bleh.
-
To be honest, I never actually touched PVP. But as far as PVE is concerned, the connection was 100% stable.

10 RepliesPlease stop with these spam posts. Can a ninja please look at a this? Reported and muted.

4 RepliesMost matches we're okay, but I ran into a few guys that were obviously "red bars." Shots not registering and all of that blah. Biggest issue to me seems that the netcode still seems to reward lag, not penalize it. Just remove the ping compensation code.

1 ReplyThe final days I saw players skip around the map. But who knows Bunglee could have been doing all kinds of testing in the Beta....

1 ReplyThe beta did indeed have good connection. But that was a beta of course.
