It feels so slow and I don't feel like we move anywhere close to as smooth as destiny1.
Edit # 1-
Damn I check my phone on break and 63 responses lol.
Edit # 2-
Guns recoil is off too. I feel like recoil is up and to the left and up and to the right sometimes on the same gun. It makes it hard to be consistent and lower with damage on guns makes it even tougher to consistently kill and get into a rhythm.
Hit detection (NOT LAG) is off as well. Most of the time my bullets won't even register until enemy is dead. If it does register, it registers after I shoot a couple more bullets. This is really annoying.
I like a lot of changes but these are 2 huge things I hate BIGTIME. It kind of feels like I'm playing on a PlayStation 2.
Edit # 3- WOW some great responses! IM glad others see how off these things are!
Edit # 4- Pretty much, I feel like we took so many steps forward but took 2 huge steps backwards with movement changes and overall crispy and responsive feel of guns recoil and hit detection.
Edit # 5- Great responses! Sometimes its hard to put into words how the movement, Weapon hit detection and recoil seem off.
I'm glad that other people agree and feel the same way. 225 upvotes and I made this post a couple days ago.
This is what a beta is for! Give your input and opinion and hopefully the devs see why we don't like or like things. The thing is....hopefully they fix it and not just see it.
The sandbox team is really stubborn I noticed and they don't really listen to feedback. If they do listen it's never really fixed. Kinda like the .04 % auto rifle buff that one time. I Hope the sandbox team learned from their mistakes in destiny 1.
Tons of great changes! But movement and hit detection n recoil direction (not lag) are my biggest issues by far!
Edit # 6- This is a thread from Riasimov on hit detection you can also look at! He sums up exactly how I feel.

DONT FORGET TO UPVOTE IF U AGREE!
Edit # 7- BUNGIE COULD YOU ANSWER WHY MOVEMENT IS OFF OR WHY IT WAS CHANGED? (Typed in caps so you might see this...not yelling, just curious)
Player Movement, weapon recoil, hit detection, and overall feel of weapons (gunplay) was so amazing in Destiny 1 (except for bloom on handcannons). Movement was so responsive and guns shot so crisp. I loved that. What the hell happened? Still enjoy D2, I love most changes but I guess I will have to get use to a totally different feel of guns and awkward movement. Pretty much a totally different game....not a sequel.
Edit # 8-
Forbes Article that is spot on...

Edit # 9- Feel free to check out/subscribe to my YouTube. I started making pvp montages this year. Montages I make are just from a 1 or 2 days worth of games and I pull my best clips. So it's not like months n months of games, but I get some nice clips.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm-bF7Ug_hZHzthVO8NYn1Q
I also made 2 Saladin's Vigil Montages, those are my favorite vids.

Just a last look at some destiny 1 gameplay.
I'm going to make lots more vids with destiny 2. I'm gonna start making vids with weapons I like for pvp and helpful tips I can share.
I hope devs really listen to us and make smart changes b4 destiny 2 drops.
Thanks everyone for your input on this topic. I'm really passionate about destiny and love the game. That's why I made this thread. Hope I enjoy D2....beta definitely made me worried about D2 instead of hyped. I'm still hyped but kind of in shock that bungie changed with a few things that were perfect.
Sorry for the long rant...I tend to do that.
Edit # 10- Over 300 likes! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that hates the new movement. Movement is such a huge part of pvp.

1 ReplyChange perks on your armor and it can up the mobility. Recover and resilience
-
Honestly the movement on Titan feel the same but slightly slower. You can still move around semi fast. The control of the jump is good still shoulder charge is still good for movement. Locks feel more floaty which can be good or bad depending on the situation. Hunters idk feel the same.
-
Agreed. It feels very floaty and slow. In D1 you can literally FEEL the weight of your Titan, in D2 he feels really weak, light and slow, and I hate the sound of the jumping.
-
I changed my movement speed from 3 to 5, and it's faster but more controllable than Destiny 1 set to 3. Long jumps are easier to control as well.
-
It's s l o w
-
No, feels great. Weapons recoil is low.

According to the weekly update some things have already been changed a while ago for the full release, being the beta is a build that's months old at this point. Generally I find that the movement speed could be a bit faster, but I think it's still quite smooth, I'm loving the warlock, but the jump that's supposed to have "an initial burst of speed" doesn't really feel any different than the others, which i'm sure will be fixed eventually. There's also armor that's a factor, the armor perks now are geared toward either defence, mobility or recovery, different armor will make you faster or if you choose a perk for that. There's also armor mods we haven't seen yet which might introduce something else that helps with that. In general though, I do feel it is slower, but I don't find it's that different overall.
-
Well the movement is fine if I don't see people literally camping around corners, this isn't infinite warfare
-
I hear you dude, Destiny 2 just feels WRONG on so many levels
-
10 RepliesTotally, felt like my guardians armour was ridiculously heavier, only good thing about this sequel is the graphics, and that ain't enough for me to keep playing so preorder has been cancelled, totally feel gutted as only played destiny for the last 3 years, can't believe they have killed this game for me, time to move on I suppose, will miss it.
-
For me.... Certain guns feel perfect, some feel way off. As if the time you pull the trigger to the time it fires feels too delayed. Latency, ttk, whatever.... Just feels off. Movement took a bit of adjusting. I main a voidwalker, so going back to blink was a learning curve. If your a chronic blink user like myself, you notice a mild change. It seems like a very slight delay in my timing to propel myself forward. If that makes sense. Really love the "charge grenade" effect. That was a nice touch.

5 RepliesEdited by Drakan: 7/21/2017 1:44:59 PMwhat movement? I'm in slow mo all the time, even nova bombs are in slow mo ! http://i.imgur.com/vgAuhWR.gifv
-
Feels the same to me. Just move your armor skills around.
-
1 ReplyI thought I was the only one... thank god im not. I really hope they fix it or else I'm not buying.
-
Yes, super slow.
-
The whole game needs a nitro, speed up movement and ttk and orbs charge

Edited by Dominator of Oats: 7/21/2017 1:01:54 PMThey messed with it because people were Titan skating and Warlock surfing so they had to tweak it to make adding agility to your character more meaningful. In D1 you can spec a Titan to have high armor, high recovery, faster ADS speed, but low agility so you can Titan skate (spam jump) and get across a map faster than a hunter with full agility. Add Twilight Garrison and you have a dodge, too. Warlock surf is a slightly less effective version of the same thing. When you put all that into context, kind of makes a class that emphasizes speed pointless. I also feel like the jumps actually feel more realistic now, like, there is a jump back on my back, I'm not just a character in a video game that's being controlled by a controller to move vertically now.
-
No issues here. Other than the fact that you abbreviated the words "and", "you", "why", and "with" in your post, which immediately makes me relegate you to the category of "people that have no worthwhile opinions, since they cannot write first-grade English."
-
Think the demo feels fine and prefer the hunter jump noises even like the looks of the weird ass shadestep
-
No, I like them better. Everything actually feels better to me about the gameplay/controls.
-
20 Replies"D2 will be just s reboot of D1".Beta drops "D2 is different than D1,i want it the same as D1".
-
I kinda like it. There are more movement options now. Icarus Dash for Warlocks makes them super mobile, much better than D1. Hunter and Titan jumps/movement is the same, don't see a problem there. Got nothing to say about the guns either, they feel great.
-
Jumping feels too 'light', especially the titans jump
-
Sprintlock is back. Please Bungie get rid of it!
-
4 RepliesMy only real issue with it is the fact I now have my sensitivity on 3 and it still feels a tad too quick... I've played a load of other games since stopping D1 but holy shit, 3 has always been waaay too slow usually... Pretty much everything else has very likely already been fixed since the beta build was finished. Considering it's a few months old...
-
1 ReplyI can understand why thay've done it especially for PvP. Destiny PvP was all about rewarding bad play styles you could move so fast with a shottie the other person could hardly do anything about it especially depending what map it was. And if you felt you was going to die just throw a sticky grenade try doing this in any other game it will not end well because you haven't got the speed to close that gap that fast also grenade are free kills in Destiny no skill needed. Destiny PvP is a mess thank god Bungie is fixing it. The only people that are not happy about it is the type of player that runs full force at you with a shottie or sticky grenade knowing if he dies it doesn't matter because he has stuck you with a sticky grenade anyway.
