When they looked out into the mountains, & were all standing there together..
I thought, "no way they are about to explore that."
& BOOM !
Under water
I thought we were going to be able to do that in destiny.
Just saying.

8 RepliesEdited by H_TOWN_BALLA_80: 6/14/2017 3:00:04 PMI guess some people are confused on why Anthem stuff is popping up on bnet. To me it's obvious why. Here's a summation I think of what's going on for most people, I know this is the case for me right now. I originally used this as a reply downthread to someone else but felt it's worthy of more exposure as a general response. *Begin copy/paste from my response below* "This actually isn't hard to understand man. I actually just sent a message to a friend regarding this whole Anthem vs Destiny issue that I think sums it up nicely. *Premise is I was asked if I think we all got suckered into a 3 year beta by Bungie on D1* "Not sure. I think it was a mix of things, the biggest being that the original braintrust of Bungie who started the development all left and the new people in charge wanted to go their own way and it just all sort of went to shit from there. Another problem is that putz Luke Smith being the lead. He literally has nothing on his resume to my knowledge to be worthy of his position. Honestly man, I'm kind of hoping Anthem is great and makes Bungie shit their pants a bit. I'm obviously heavily invested in Destiny and plan to be here for D2 for now anyway but part of me is rooting against Destiny now. The dev team had done nothing but foster hate in me towards them so part of me wants to see Destiny crash and burn now but play it until it does. Literally never started to hate a game so much that I still actively play so much." I feel like this sums it up perfectly on why you're seeing Anthem stuff on bnet." Sure, the obvious responses are "well play something else" or whatever but see, I don't have to do that. It's my time and money, I can play what I want. I keep playing despite my growing hate for it because it's still a fun shooter and unique shooter as far as mechanics and the shared world setting and all that. I also lead my own clan and have met some friends that I enjoy playing with and we now play other games together too. Playing with my friends is the main reason I play. The raids are still fun and I enjoy running strikes mindlessly for a few hours at a time. But I can't let my mind wander into subjects about "balance", or the new gun slot system, or 4v4 pvp, or every single piece of gear almost being nerfed to shit and back, etc.

1 ReplyFinally, some real competition for Destiny!!! This is going to get interesting when Anthem Starts pulling players later in Destiny 2's lifecycle. Its going force Bungie to step that game up!
-
1 ReplyThe Division was supposed to be better than Destiny. It disappointed a little worse actually. Mark my words, just like Destiny and The Division , Anthem won't be great till the second year. No one seems to understand that games like these can't be shipped "completed". They are very difficult to make and constantly require work.

1 ReplyBungie never stated underwater exploration, so your wrong

1 ReplyEdited by Twheeeeezy17: 6/16/2017 12:05:43 PMWhat kinda sucks is with a projected fall of 2018 launch date Bungie/Destiny still have no direct competition in their genre, for atleast for another full year. By the time anthem comes out Activision/Bungie will have made another billion dollars, they will continue to put out the same product without any marketplace pressure, and there will be re hypening for destiny 2.5 when anthem is released. Competition is good for the marketplace and quality of product. Anthem, for the sake of destiny, can't get here soon enough.

1 ReplyLooks like a third person destiny...minus the fantasy aspect and space magic. But yes, it does look nice.
-
34 RepliesAnthem is what Destiny should have been. It only made Destiny 2 look even worse after that lame trailer at e3.
-
3 RepliesYeah that game looks dope , there was a skull icon waaay off to the right mountains ! Areas look full of life

9 RepliesIn the current day and age you should be skeptical about most games. With the exception of a few companies like Rockstar and Blizzard, games company have burned their faithful as of late. I like the look of Anthem, but I also loved Mass Effect and blindly launched into Andromeda. I think I'll just wait and see on this game. However that being said, the game can not detract from how much I have enjoyed my 3 years in Destiny. Despite it's faults (and there are many) the concept and game itself are wonderful things. Here's to co-op.

2 RepliesHow far out was the release on anthem?
-
10 RepliesSo what you're saying is, we can look forward to a game that looks amazing, potentially plays amazing, and is a true open world? And I don't have to give bungie a penny? Oh. Hell. Yes.
-
7 RepliesLooks awesome all right. As for pvp did you see battlefront 2 omfg 100vs 100 play as droids jedi storm troopers looks unreal.

1 Reply"Anthem is going to kill Destiny 2"

9 RepliesI still dont understand why people are talking about Anthem on the Bungie forums, which are currently utilized for the discussion of Destiny not Anthem. I am keeping my eye on it but the hype has not paid off in the past for some, think back to Destiny launch. It was hyped to the point where people were quivering in their boots to get to play the game. I dont want to throw too much hype at a game after seeing what happened to GR: Wildlands.
-
Just remember, plenty of game that get show at E3 get delayed or cancelled...and mostly all get downsized to some extent. I agree it's definitely a game to keep an eye on but i don't expect to see that agme for a while
-
3 RepliesIt will be a campaign only game. No pvp, no nightfall and no raids. Play it, have a good experience and never comeback.
-
4 RepliesSee that?!??? You can go there!
-
Lmao, one scripted bit of "Gameplay" and people are sold. You'd think folks around here would have learned something from Destiny.
-
You might want to hold of on the excitement.... it's bioware .... you might get "Bungied" again.
