Very Disappointing Final Reward for the AoT Record Book
So let me get this straight, Bungie wants me to do a massive amount of things in Destiny, just to have to buy a t-shirt for $25 upon completion of the Age of Triumph Record Book as a reward? If we had gotten a special emblem/in-game reward for Destiny 2, I would have been very pleased, but having a t-shirt that we have to buy for even more money after putting in all that time feels like a slap in the face from Bungie. Anyone else agree, or is it just me?

2 RepliesHonestly not nearly as annoyed by this as I am but the fact that the armor set is derby as -blam!- and is chroma instead of some badass or at least decent looking transformation using the days of triumph tokens. You want me to get a full set of shit gear to get an even uglier shader? Pass

I needed a shirt anyway, and I really like destiny and feel like it'd be expressing myself, so I don't mind.

I'm not sure if you know this but back in the late 80s and early 90s if you beat a game you could send in for a patch. It would still cost money but you could only get them if you scored a certain score or beat a certain game. So it's kind of the same thing. Old school gamers can appreciate it. Also, Cub Scout members pay for patches, kids in karate pay for their belts, they can't just give away the stuff for free. I do semi agree with you that it's bs, they should at least have some emblem or shader in game as well.

1 Reply1) it's a limited edition t-shirt 2) if i'm not mistaken, the products they sell, money goes to the Bungie foundation ie. charity 3) it's a video game - they don't have to give us (the option of) anything.

You've known the shirt was coming for a while now. While it's something I'd never wear (and therefore attempt to earn), some people think it's cool. Besides, profit goes to charity. Would I like to earn an emblem for D2? Absolutely. But I'm not crushed over it.

Just another example of how far removed from their fan base Bungie really are. 'To honour your legend, we are going to let you grind in game to earn the ability to pay real world money for real world loot that promotes our company and our game'. Pay to advertise Bungie and Destiny? No thanks.
