This is long: but it needed to be said
1st of all Bungie how do you release a major patch when half of it is unintentionally bugged because of the change you made to hungering blade. That is unacceptable considering the amount of time it has been since the last sandbox balancing update. I'm starting to think that you didn't start working on this patch til like 2 weeks ago. Unacceptable.
Now on to the changes you actually meant to make. I think 90% of them were uncalled for and will have a negative impact on the game- but I'll just hit the highlights.
Most obviously blade dancer... The only thing in need of a nerf on blade was shinobu's vow- which imo they messed that up as well. But no you nerf the whole damn subclass. Give me one reason to run blade dancer. It now has a poor super, poor melee, and a poor neutral game. You killed it- great job. This alone is enough for me to say that your whole balancing team needs reworked- nobody in this entire community called for this.
Onto special anmo- bungie this was the wrong way to go about making us use our primaries, but I'm sure you saw it as the easy way out and took it. The community has been screaming to buff primaries for months now- why don't you listen? This is going to slow the game down to a stalemate of team shotting and camping- nobody wants that.
The last thing I want to touch on is your nerf to max armor builds. Having max armor was something cool that you could choose to customize your class with because it could give you small benefits here and there. Now why would I run it? How about instead of nerfing the armor stat you buff agility so that there is a good reason to run high agility. You are basically making customization pointless by nerfing these stats. This goes to all the subclass changes as well (accept for jug, that was a perfect change).
It has become apparent now that bungie is purposely trying to slow this game down for god knows why as well as make every class play the same by nerfing all the cool things about each of them to the ground. They are trying to turn Destiny into Halo.
I am losing faith in you bungie. I feel that a studio as incompetent as the one that released this broken patch could not possibly make a good Destiny 2. It is not too late though, if you want to get the trust of your community back I seriously recommend you reverse the majority of the changes you launched today. Take another month or two, rethink your whole balancing approach- and give us a solid April update- and this time listen to the people who actually play your game.

A concerned player

This was perfectly spoken

1 ReplySo yeah to hell with this game, it's getting killed in 6 months anyway so good luck to all the yes men than like any piece of shit with a bowtie that Bungie gives them. I'll wait for the reset at Destiny 2 and really hope this shit doesn't carry over, honestly not even the cards, I want no memory of this mess.

22 RepliesEdited by Psalm: 2/15/2017 3:08:58 AM'Twas the day of the update and all through the game Warlocks were rampant and hunters were maimed Too bad the devs don't know how to aim Too bad they can't use their simpleton brains Now 3v3s are slow in pace Now getting to special is the main race Primary users still get aped Voidwalker users are spamming their grapes Nightstalkers litter 6v6 and 3v3 Sitting with icebreaker on the Bannerfall tree Corner camping while invisible Shadestep makes them feel invincible! But in the end it's how the game is going to be Might as well just make the next game free You won't get any sales for Destiny 2 You're foolish Bungie and I can see right through

They need to let team B stop messing with the game

12 RepliesCommunity: 'Oh nerf special, Mathador too OP! All I see are campers and shotgun jerks waaaaah!' Bungie: 'Let's nerf special ammo so people are forced to use their primary!' Community: 'Let's use NLB and sidearms to bypass the special ammo change!' I fear Trials tomorrow smh...

3 RepliesIf you want to complain this much you obviously don't pay attention to what bungie says.
they check Reddit for majority of feedback and rarely go on the forums
-
My thing is they just only nerfed the special ammo. Sure they nerfed the in air accuracy and the the hip fire aim assist on shotguns but that's literally all they did! For exxample matador still has the same exact range and impact and that rangefinder where your ads time is slower did the opposite of what it's supposed to
-
I used to run blade dancer all the time, Now because it sucks i am a nightstalker 24/7. I will settle for my swords. Still miss it though.
-
1 ReplyI liked the update. Pve feels exactly the same and pvp is a lot more fun
-
Get back up there
-
3 RepliesPretty good patch imo 👍
-
2 RepliesUse a primary
-
2 RepliesNot going through half the mess below to sift for what I want to say, only on the stat changes on guardians themselves. The armor stat nerf wasn't reduced health when you run 10 armor, it's when you max it on the subclass, then increase it more with armor perks

I'm gonna be completely honest, I've defended this game since it's launch, hell I brought back three of my friends into this game after they quit in year two. I've defended bungie again and again because I figured they were learning what they needed to do and would eventually fix everything. But not anymore. I was gonna stick with this game to the bitter end but now I think that this patch is the bitter end. I've lost all faith in bungle and unless they somehow fix this steaming pile of garbage that is crucible, then I think I'm done with this game, maybe forever.

Oh yes I can, I can defend Bungie easily. I can blame the community instead. I can lump every diverse opinion into one, and say that a vocal minority "forced" Bungie to nerf instead of buff, break instead of tweak, create another meta instead of moving towards balance, and push out a patch that was admittedly broken. I Will spit in the face of everyone, and say that they "ruined the game for me" because they cried, and ignore the fact that there is equal too, and possibly more crying every single time Bungie releases a patch(by people who oppose the nerfs). I don't have to logically connect the dots, or acknowledge the fact that there is just as many people don't want change, as there are those that do... nor can I answer the question of why Bungie listens to one side and not the other... My argument is purely emotional, because I know that I am helpless to change anything, so I in my frustration, I seek to hurt others by blaming people who I know I can get a rise out of. I give my feedback to the community, as if they are one cohesive entity that I blame for all the problems in Destiny, and even more tragic, expect them to change or fix the issue. I am Bungie's unknowing tool. I am the firewall between Bungie and rational elements of the community that seek to lobby them for change. I am the personification of toxicity and always have been. I will always navigate my opinions to blame the community instead of Bungie, because I know they are listening, reading, and watching. For the lifetime of this game, I will throw shit at the wall and expect for it to form into something meaningful, never looking at who dropped the shit in my lap in the first place... I am the bnet forums, agree and submit... or be cast out.

Here's an idea for special ammo. - take the special ammo crates out of crucible. - you don't lose your special ammo when you die. - everybody automatically gets 1 mag of special ammo for every 3 minutes of gameplay that passes. - if you spawn into a match you will still get your special when everybody else does. - leave heavy ammo crates in. It's fun having people fight over them. - Trials of Osiris and Elimination matches can have special ammo crates and you don't lose special when you die.

16 RepliesIf they buffed primaries like you are asking for, special weapons would be mostly useless. I'm sorry bud, but you're acting like you know everything that needs to happen to make this game balanced. I agree with most of the changes, only a few of them were unwarranted. I'm happy with all of the weapon changes, minus the overdone truth nerf. 3 to 1 is unnecessary. The nerf to hungering blade causing a nerf to everything else was also too much. Voidwalker subclass revolves around health regeneration, you can't just strip away its purpose. Same for Red Death, and it's already the worst archetype of pulse rifle. HOWEVER: If you knew how to read, you would have seen that even Bungie themselves were skeptical of some of the changes. By the sound of it, there will be another patch before too long that will revert any of the changes that people think went too far. Sorry, but this rant is going to get you or the community anywhere. How about instead of coming onto the forums and whining like a spoiled brat, you just play the game for a bit and actually test out the changes? Quite frankly, I'm thinking this will be the most balanced Crucible has been in a very long time. Primary weapons will finally be getting their fair share of use with the special changes, and they will fill the role they are supposed to. The changes to max armor were important, because it's not right that people can tank a shoulder charge or a magnetic grenade. I could keep going, but you're either going to see my point, or stubbornly fight it like most people do on these forums when they disagree with someone. I'm not going to say everything Bungie does is perfect, but you have to remember a few things. They are the developers. This is their game, and they can do what they want with it. They also have access to data and numbers that you do not. They are constantly looking through these forums and other forms of feedback to get an idea of what the community thinks. They didn't crap out a bunch of random changes that they think might work, they use their best judgement to make changes based off of player feedback and statistics. Remember, a lot of them play the game too. They wouldn't be making video games if they didn't enjoy video games. TLDR: Stop being a baby, and give the patch a chance. There are a couple of questionable things, but overall Crucible will be a much more balanced environment and they've stated they are willing to revert some of the changes if there is reason to believe that they went too far. Crying about it when it's been out for a day won't get anyone anywhere.

The only problem I have with the special ammo change is that players still initially spawn with special ammo. I played Halo for years, and it treated it's OHK weapons like resources to be fought over, to be held onto and treasured. Forcing players to work for their Snipers, Shotguns, etc. encourages map movement. I always found it ridiculous that a match in Destiny can start off with half the enemy team opening up sniper fire then heading off for some good perch spots. While that may work in Call of Duty or Battlefield, Destiny definitely takes cues from Halo in terms of map design, movement, and weapon handling. Trying to pretend that it doesn't has just done harm to the game in terms of PvP.

I agree they don't test things properly look what happened to Samsung.

I use it still and still have fun Primaries- there's more variety I find it a more interesting game now

5 RepliesSure I can because I have had the most fun in the Crucible that I have had in a very long time.

Edited by Ghost_Hawk_One: 2/16/2017 8:16:45 AMLots of people blaming the community on here lol. You Fanboy's always shift blame away from Bungie but never mention this 1 simple fact...
Bungie does the programming
So how are the bugs our fault? As for the changes, If some kid says i should do something stupid and i do it, who is to blame? The kid?
Or the dumb adult for listening to the kid?
Get real.

6 RepliesLoving the patch. Community is overreacting. Don't forget to consider all the players that left destiny because our previous shotgun meta left a sour taste. This may bring them back. I know it has done that for some of my friends. To everyone: Learn to move and learn to use a primary. Special spawns so often that you will very often have ammo for your shotty or sniper. You just can no longer hide behind your special.

2 RepliesI want to kill MYSELF Riv3r! I want to kill myself lol.... This patch is garbage now where in the heck did I put that trash can???? *dies*😵

35 RepliesI can defend bungie. And trust me, I will. This game will never die as long as this community lives on! Content can be as dry as the Sahara and I'll still come back for more! There's always something to do. This patch has changed the game in the best way possible! Primaries are great, and the only thing Nerfed into oblivion is blade, and let's be honest, no hunter uses blade anyways. I never used it and never will. Bungie has made a game that is great and different. There's no where to go but up. As I said in other posts, bungie is not perfect and neither are we. Except it. This game is great and so is the community. I respect you opinion, just like I do others, so give this a chance. Use different things and most of all, have fun! -Jordan.
