Hahahahahahaahhahaa I'm beginning to think this whole balance thing is just a joke... They nerfed the worst super in the game, and left Hammer of Sol (pretty much Bladedancer on steroids) untouched....
In all seriousness though...
Let's just have a moment of silence for Bladedancer....
Edit: Well this post really blew up... I'm trying to respond to most of the comments!
Edit: A lot of people saying Hammer of Sol is just as bad as Arc Blade.... Not trying to start a class war because at this point I don't even care, but that's simply not true in the slightest. All the advantages of HoS: Better mobility, has a ranged attack, better at close range (Suncharge OHKs Blade but Blade (a "melee-based" super, also a single thrown Hammer kills a Blade...) takes 2 swipes to kill a Hammer), and has more armor. Again, I'm not trying to start a class war, I'm just clearing this up because I had to explain this to at least 3 people and that number will only go up. Edit: Thanks @Maestro25 for pointing this out... Skip to 36:45 in this video for their reasoning behind nerfing this super... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0gzJJ4rzvY&feature=youtu.be

6 RepliesThey nerfed Blink......

1 ReplyEdited by Nessa for Life: 2/9/2017 5:51:16 PMHere are my thoughts. Running into a bladedancer in full super and getting them down to a sliver of health only to die and have to watch as their health regens before your eyes sucks. Then getting to watch them steam roll another teammate who should have been able to defend himself after the damage you did sucks more. It really is a "frustrating" encounter. But let's be real. For non-Bladedancers, your quality of life improved slightly. For Bladedancers, your quality of life took a significant hit. Am I glad this nerf happened? Sure, a little. But was this even on my radar as far as things that need to happen? No way. And if they reversed their decision tomorrow I would be happy for all of the Bladedancers out there. Hungering Blade was such a small threat, I'm not sure why they bothered. The tracking on skips did need to be tweaked a little though.

1 ReplyEdited by SpiralingPnuema: 2/9/2017 5:18:19 PMi was under impression they just changed how much health you get back with hungering blade and now generates armor if your health is at a certain point as well and tweaked blink , that is it, how does that ruin everything? do people think before they cry on here? We dont even know what they did to blink. Why dont we all try it out when the patch comes out. I like the fact they are making people use primaries that is how it should be. The specials change is awesome now people will use side arms more. Camp all you want by the special boxes easier to kill people.

The only time I bring my Hunter out is when I need to do a second Nightfall or something. But since I got the Ice Breaker both it and my Hunter have been collecting dust so I'm no expert what so ever. What I can say is I feared this super in Year 1 like no other super out there. You would hear that call out that there was a Blade Dancer and you would find the closest cliff to jump off so they wouldn't get points off you. That somewhat changed in year 2, if I was alone I would skate away, but if I had a teammate with me we would look for the little Ballerina and take them out. Now I hear a Blade Dancer I hunker down and more than half the time take them out. With this change if someone tickles them I know for a fact I will be able to take them out if they are a few yards from me. The only way this is not going to happen is if they can shoot that wave at me or, what seems to be more common now they are in Predator mode and I don't even see them coming. Since I main a Titan I'm hoping they don't do the same thing to Hammers and the health recharge. I normally don't run Hammers in PvP, I like my Defender or Striker. But in PvE that health recharge has saved my arse so many times. So I am hoping that there is another reason they did this that we don't know about and will learn in the full patch notes. Some kind of change that brings up a Blade Dancer somewhere else. Because if they do something with Shinobu's Vow that is in anyway a nerf they really gimped the Blade Dancer.

Wait, what?! What the -blam!-?! I'm gonna go watch that stream as soon as possible, and then make an angry post!
-
4 RepliesThey don't seem to understand how their own game works. Hungering blade is not an instantaneous regen like an over shield. Plus if you take fire whilst hungering blade is regenning health it cancels it, effectively making it useless if you engage more than one opponent. Not to mention the fact that many a competent player can single handedly take out an arc blade with shotty melee combo, even in its current state...
-
1 ReplyOnly Bungie nerfs the weakest class in the game.
-
Makes no sense. Marijuana is legal in Washington State so that must be the reason. The Dev. Team are so lost. They haven't got a clue. Those two clowns that were on the stream were nothing more than sacrifical lambs for a Dev. Team that has totally failed the game.

I feel like most of the people that say sunsinger is the worst super main self Rez. I agree the subclass as a whole is worse but if you use radiant skin with a shotty you can easily beat blade dancers.

26 RepliesImagine seeing this post in vanilla. In 2 1/2 years we went from... NERF BLADEDANCER IT'S WAY TOO OP!!! to WHY DID THEY NERF BLADEDANCERS THEY WEREN'T OP!!!
This community never fails to amaze me.
5 RepliesNerf the highest risk super in the game by trashing the only perk that allows for survival in deep s..t situations that most likely you'll end up dying in anyway. And blink too? You obviously don't play the subclass like i do. I put down Destiny a while ago. Looks like I won't be coming back anytime soon as they murdered my favorite hunter subclass Thanks Bungle you've bungled another update

Edited by Golden Chocobo: 2/9/2017 3:43:36 PMHahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I'm so glad I didn't upgrade to RoI.

1 ReplyI do find it odd that they did not provide a graph showing super kills to help us as players understand why. Must have been one of those "gut feeling" fixes.
-
I don't use blades so not bothered the only super that I think slightly needs tweaking is stormcaller and the mida

6 RepliesYou act like blade is weak. But it's not.

1 ReplyEdited by Snake: 2/9/2017 1:17:10 PMthere are some major differences between hammer of sol and arc blade, and if people are saying otherwise they are justs stupid. for one the range difference between hammer of sol and arc blade is huge. secondly arc blade is near defenceless from range (unless you can catch their whole team unaware) when approaching an enemy from distance after activating to kill someone else, while the titn can take shots from a distance giving them chance to hide from enemy fire unlike the hunter. thirdly arc blade already took 2 hits to kill a guardian where hammer of sol took 1 direct hit mostly to kill a guardian. and finally the difference between the class types them selves such as the fact than the titan can max out their armor and seems to have higher health and has higher mobility (god knows why, if you have high mobility lower defence, if you have higher defence slow the character down in any other game) and a hunter has very little armor in comparison it is also slower and has lower health.

5 RepliesYour whole argument was made invalid when you said bladedancer was the WORST super. You play sunsinger lol? I would edit that out if you want that taken seriously :)
-
1 Reply"Trade-Dancer" its a shame.
-
2 RepliesIt may actually be better? If you get a bit of health regen regardless if you are using hungering blade or not then encore can be used instead - which extends a BD super quite a bit if you get some kills.
-
7 Replies
worst super in the game
*cough*
Radiance
*cough*

2 Repliesblade dance is trash. I would rather face that, than ANY other super by far. period. always.

"In the arms of the angels...."

4 RepliesClarify something for me. If I understood things correctly, hungering blade perk was nerfed. Was there damage decrease to arc blade
-
5 RepliesThis happens to me all the time: http://youtu.be/hCPxPh-2SjM (Blinkstrike shortstop) This also happens to me all the time: http://youtu.be/Zx-4XPL-A50 (Arcblade takes 3 swipes to kill one enemy, thus giving them plenty of time to trade a kill with you)

I rarely play this game anymore but I wanted to get back into it cause I got addicted to dark souls again. But it's honestly really entertaining to come on here after every bungie patch and to see people hemorrhaging over what was nerfed.
-
They may have nerfed the class directly, but indirectly they buffed the hell out of it by nerfing shottys and every other special in terms of ammo.
