Strike playlist is arc burn, everyone grab your Zhalo.
Bungie logic.
EDIT: For all those who read this and think they are being super witty / smart pointing out that Zhalo is an exotic.
The point is, it is the only PRIMARY that has an elemental burn.
In year 1 we had elemental primaries that dropped from Raids / Trials / PoE. They took those away to "Promote weapon diversity".
Now every time there is Arc Burn, the majority (not all) typically go for the only primary we have that has an elemental burn - the exotic Zhalo.

4 RepliesHow true. In the past i would have had... Oversoul Edict Fate Bringer Fang of Ir Yut Praedyth's Timepiece Depending on which strike I'd flip between Fang and Fatebringer. I'm a scout/handcannon guy.

More bungie logic...remove elemental primaries and THEN add a modifier that requires you to match burn type...match game should of been a year 1 modifier, and should be removed from the game all together. LOGIC

7 RepliesEdited by PhraustStryke: 1/25/2017 11:37:34 PMBungie logic? Here's some Bungie logic for ya. Create an Exo because machines do not tire, fatigue, or breathe... still needs to rest after sprinting. Guardians can wield the powers of the stars, the storms, and the vaccum of the cosmos... still can't sprint and reload at the same time. Oryx born of an alian race across the universe, transformed by worms into a hive god, harnesses the power to take worlds and thier people... somehow speaks perfect English. The Exo Stranger can time travel... still doesn't have time to explain why she doesn't have time to explain. Eris was trapt in the moon for who knows how long... and never thought to grab a tomb husk to let herself out. Guardians can run, sprint, double-jump, glide, lift, generate grenades, regenerate health, fly spaceships, drive sparrows, use any weapon they touch all without training... still can't lie on the ground to minimize combat profile. Exos don't have blood... screen goes red with a heartbeat on critical. Bungie adds rng to handcannons forcing players to "time their shots"... still creates high RoF handcannons for RoI. Destiny Update - as of 09/08/2015 from Destiny Dev Team patch 2.0.0 the start of year two as TTK released the weapon changes of these three specifically. Thorn: Base Damage of Thorn DoT reduced by 1/3 for both PVE and PVP Thorn DOT now stacks up to 5x over multiple shots This is a net buff, but it is now spread over multiple shots to eliminates the PVP "2-shot walk away." Thorn DoT damage now correctly reports as poison Icebreaker: Ammo Recharge time increased to 7 seconds between rounds (was 5 seconds) Gjallarhorn: Reduce damage of Wolfpack Rounds by roughly 1/3 Even with these changes at the start pr Y2 Bungie still waited until Y3 to bring them up to current light during RoI and The Dawning. Was the wait necessary? Finally Bungie does not have legendary elemental primaries in the current light cap (weak sauce Luke Smith, weak ass sauce) AND releases other means to get to said light cap outside of the raids (sweet multiple paths of progression, gg). So what is the point of running them? I mean I am not getting any stronger by running the raids versus running through strikes or IB, nor am I getting any gear that is more useful than the other. So why bother raiding?

5 RepliesMark my words! Recycled content incoming next month. Old raids are new raids lol. And they will say you asked we listened to elemental primary. The truth is they knew for a long time. They are just dragging, the so called free recycled content update. I guess feb will be they're last update for d2 to keep us busy with recycled shit. Really fukd up....

Give all primaries Elemental Damage. Simple fix to this ridiculous problem where Primaries are the weakest guns in NFs/Heroics when shit like Iron Clad, Match Game etc is on...becaue you shoot stuff and all there is ResistResistResist. If other Human Weapons can have Elements, like Snipers/Rockets/Machine Guns then primaries should as well. But if they dont want to the most obvious thing, go the next obvious route - More Elements on Exotics...the lesser used ones. SIVA should be Solar, HL Arc, Bad JuJu Void, Thorn Void, etc. Having no Elements on all Primaries is stupid, and would've been the better fix...because you open up the variety then. The whole point Raid Primaries were massive in Y1 was because of the Elements and how helpful they were., ...oh and the fact they were you know, the best designed weapons in the game. Still are really, though WotM guns give them a run now. Ex Machina and Genesis Chain FTW

Stability, moderate or high ROF, and impact are what I look for in kinetic or elementals. Still have my 170 elementals are bring them out to join there follow special and heavies to complete bounties etc. Still have my Word of Crota, Oversoul Edict, VoC, Fatebringer, Fang of Ir Yût, Vex M, Necrochasm, Pocket Infinity, and Praedyth's Revenge. All of the above were fun to use and had elemental burns and contrary to Bungie data they were not used all day every day for every single event in the game.... well at least for me. Lol
-
12 RepliesIsn't that just proving the point though? Burn primaries make all kinetic damage primaries near useless. Why would you use that vendor weapon in PvE when this gun over here is just going to be more useful?
-
yes, since this shitty idea I'm limited to use zhalo only , I wont comply to that crap using kitetic primaries, if they remove the last weapon I like I'm done with the game for good
-
They could probably bring elemental primaries back with the way they've been nerfing sh*t left and right
-
3 RepliesI was just thinking about this. the weekly is almost ALWAYS a burn, especially ARC when it isn't, its either void or solar. WTF was the point of that then bungie?!
-
I somewhat see why they took em away. Personally I prefer neutral rounds as I dislike when elemental triangles in games become to critical. Soon you have enemies healing from your attacks, exploits due to elemental class/character trees, etc. But I will say, if we could buy/earn elemental cores from Nightfalls, Hoards, Raids, Trials, (maybe a Nightfall difficulty Challenge/Prison of Elders). To unlock elemental slots in our guns thay we can toggle between once unlocked (like Ornaments). That would be badass.

Is it really that hard to switch to a secondary or heavy to take out a shield then switch back to a primary to do damage? Aside from what, Match Game and Ironclad (which aren't nearly all that frequent to be an issue), why exactly is it necessary that primary burn be a thing again? I'd have to wonder how is it you've managed to keep playing if you're seemingly having trouble with something as mundane as matching colors.

People are still on this? Guess the well is running dry...
-
No bring back elemental primaries !!!
-
The only time people use the Zhallo is when playing Crotas end or when there is arc burn. Otherwise, it goes back in the vault.
-
2 RepliesZhalo is unnecessary. I had the most kills in every strike I played last night using Cryptic Dragon, Invective, and arc rocket launcher. Of course I was running it as a stormcaller so yeah, there's that I suppose.
-
1 ReplyFun was deemed overpowered. They nerfed fun Simple. Pve is less fun and weapon loadouts are less diverse now. Bungie took several steps fwd and just as many backward.
-
5 RepliesTaking away the burns on primaries and taking away the option to roll perks to promote weapon diversity never made sense to me either
-
That odd moment you dont use zhalo....
-
Not that I'm disagreeing with you. Just trying to find some logic
-
I think word got out that Zhalo would have arc damage from what I remember from pre-teen king release. So they didn't want to go back on that. No time to explain had arc damage in one short clip, but it was earlier in the development process since it was still designed like the original strangers rifle with sights and color.
-
Arc burn you say? You need to see my warlock..
-
11 Repliesthe only problem I have with elemental primaries is the effectiveness in PvP environments. If Bungie was smart they would create elemental primaries in D2. That and dedicated servers
-
15 RepliesElemental primaries were fun in Y1 and they were a GREAT reward considering they increased your damage output in certain situations in PVE, while the burn literally did nothing in PVP, so it was a purely PVE benefit. If they limited weapon choice, the solution was to have infusable elemental cores obtained through the raid which can be put into any kinetic weapon. To take it one step further, the elemental cores can be obtained by dismantling the raid primary weapons, and you get to keep the core they came with. This ensures that the raid is the only method of getting them, providing the incentive to rerun raids over and over. The raid guns can be desirable in and of themselves for the burn, but then after you have them all, you will still want them so you can upgrade your other kinetic damage weapons.
