Strike playlist is arc burn, everyone grab your Zhalo.
Bungie logic.
EDIT: For all those who read this and think they are being super witty / smart pointing out that Zhalo is an exotic.
The point is, it is the only PRIMARY that has an elemental burn.
In year 1 we had elemental primaries that dropped from Raids / Trials / PoE. They took those away to "Promote weapon diversity".
Now every time there is Arc Burn, the majority (not all) typically go for the only primary we have that has an elemental burn - the exotic Zhalo.

You're forgetting that Thorn has its own type of burn damage... There used to be element burn on primaries from Iron Banner, but they ditched them not long after Crota's End came out. Personally I prefer they would award burn-only primaries in that again, and Trials of Osiris.

5 RepliesThey removed primary burns to extend anorexic content. It's that simple. No need for five paragraphs.
-
They should let all primaries be capable of having a burn. The only thing is, you still need to do end game content to get whatever infusion materials you need to add that burn to the weapon.
-
4 RepliesI'm a believer that all exotic primaries should have burns
-
3 RepliesWhy have arc/solar/void shielded enemies if i have to waste what little special ammo I have thanks to nerfs? Elemental primaries made sense, a less powerful but easier obtained solution to burn-specific enemies or modifiers.
-
Why would i use anything other than the best possible gear for a specific scenario, though? Its not the best all around primary for every scenario since there are better primaries. Plus there was no reason to remove primary burns since these were aquired from the hardest piece of content in the game. Honestly it feels like bungie just wanted to add artificial difficulty as usual instead of actually making content thats only difficult to 12 year olds.

4 RepliesI just want my damn VoC at 400 light. At this point why does it matter.

1 ReplyYou would think as cruddy as the kings fall primaries are, that the hallowed versions would have an element on them.
-
Well rn I'm having trouble finding a good primary for PvE, so I've used the supercell in every combat style I came across except for PvP, then I use The Last Word

12 RepliesThe amount of irony to this topic is exorbitant. You're mad that bungie took away elemental primaries because it destroyed weapon diversity, but they left zhalos, and now people only use zhalos. But you don't seem to realize that you're actually mad that zhalos still exists. In a world where zhalos is kinetic or gone, guardians would use any and every primary, thus: diversity. Bungie knows telemetry, and they set zhalos as a trap to see if we'll use other guns on arc burn instead. If we had, then maybe they'd bring elem leg primaries back, since it wouldn't be a big deal. But because one gun is all it takes to kill weapon diversity, they'll never come back the way they were in y1. If you can use a weapon that has a bonus sometimes vs one that has no bonus, you will of course use the first option 100% of the time. Which makes pointless any work put into strike-specific guns, armsday weapons, vanguard, crucible, and faction primaries, non-adept trials weapons, and raid weapons from y2 and 3 raids, prison of elders weapons, house judgement weapons, and any primary exotics that don't have a gimmick you need at the time.

Not this week. I'm using Red Death because it's exposure too.

5 RepliesPlease explain to me how giving legendary primaries elemental burns would add weapon variety. And don't just say, "Oh well, it makes them cool Raid drops." That's not weapon variety, that's just a cool raid drop.
-
Good it was removed, More use of special and heavy.

2 RepliesI never use the zhalo anymore. I like variety and switch around. Makes me laugh when randoms show up using it and like it's the only option.

Talos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise! We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars! But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you." Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! We are the children of man! Talos is the true god of man! Ascended from flesh, to rule the realm of spirit! The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth! Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? What then? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives? And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people! So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine! For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever! Terrible and powerful Talos! We, your unworthy servants, give praise! For only through your grace and benevolence may we truly reach enlightenment! And deserve our praise you do, for we are one! Ere you Ascended and the Eight became Nine, you walked among us, great Talos, not as god, but as man!

I and a lot of others want them back.

Let's take a way burns so we have no reason to do the Raid. End of Story bro.

9 RepliesBut, it worked? yeah its Arc Burn, so we use Zhalo, Solar Burn? use certified burn. Void? use certified burn. in year one it went a little something like this. Solar burn? Ghorn Arc Burn? Ghorn Void burn? Ghorn people change their load out each week now, not like in year 1, i dont see the point in this post sorry.

Edited by Spaceman: 1/27/2017 1:40:30 AMI've always felt all weapons should do one and only one default elemental damage. This would create variety... instead of have 3 of the same weapon with each damage type, you'll have to find 3 different weapons. Then... add to that elemental resistance on our guardians armor pieces. Thus, making pvp more fun and giving players the ability to resist against weapons that become the meta. And for the cherry on top, why wouldn't a sunbreaker resist MORE damage from solar weapons? Bungie... make it happen.

4 RepliesSince DO sold the OG Hung Jury, there is no other primary I have used in PvE other Supercell for Arc...Yeah, weapon diversity my ass

34 RepliesEdited by CozMcKilljoy: 1/27/2017 1:38:56 AMWell in year one when it was Arc burn what did you use? Fatebringer, because it was the only thing worth using! Now I use Zalo and Trespasser, and Bolt Caster and Thunderlord and... Edit: oh my, my playful input has really riled up a lot of Fang, Time Piece and other raid weapon used but just let me clarify. To be clear I had forgotten a lot of the other raid weapons. But when it came to variety, I felt rather trapped because it wasn't worth it to use any of my other non Raid legendaries. Now with the introduction of Small Arms and specialist I feel I can choose more primaries to play around with.

I hope bungie reads this and puts out an update reversing the damage that Luke Smith did to weapon variety. Make all weapon (excluding some exotics) have the potential to come with an elemental burn.

2 RepliesThat's to show their point. A lot of players rather will go for an Arc Primary and use that while ignoring their abilities and even Super. I saw it alot this week. Here I am getting the most kills using weapons that have Grenadier and running Solar Grenades with my Sunsinger.
