Will destiny 2 be GOTY
I personally think it will contend , regardless of what you think destiny has been trending in a positive way with each update and at this point it's actually a good game ,not great .I think destiny 2 is going to be amazing ,thoughts?

2 RepliesIt will need a immersive story, optional matchmaking for endgame content and dedicated servers for that to happen. Honestly though I've set my expectations pretty low considering the disappointment this game has become.

ROI shows that they either don't learn anything, were too lazy to actually develop decent content outside of the raid or don't know how to manage their workforce. HUGE step back in year 3 for fun and I don't have anyone playing the game on my list anymore. If Destiny 2 doesn't correct MANY of the largest issues and is more of the same, it may not even survive till Destiny 3.

And which "game of the year" awards are you referring to? To the point though, the reality is that it will have no chance. Red dead redemption 2 will shit all over it and there's plenty other good games lined up for 2018, if they make their release date.

I doubt destiny 2 will be released this year. Still no release date, still no trailers or info on it and tbh getting their own servers should be way above d2 on the priority list! Personally think d2 will be unreal though, destiny 1 has been a massive learning curve for them and bungie have been around long enough to learn from those little mistakes. Say what you want about it but there isn't many games you've put more hours into than destiny since it's release!

A second year $40 reboot and two full years for the game to be decent (many saw it as a terrible investment/rightfully so). However, staying positive is good. You never know. Personally, i hope its good (more good games to play). The foundation is there. Gunplay, art style and music. All thats left is to create a one good/coherent experience and hire someone who can create a proper loot based game. Yeah, and story telling .... good story telling. Btw they NEED a GOTY contender at the least, to even have a chance after their display so far.

Too early to tell, it would need to improve the story a lot, and balance PvP better to have a shot.

Highly unlikely. With the current/future games we have now/get in the future plus the history destiny 1 had, i don't think so.
