PS4 DS4 paddles

Hi fellow guardians, I would like to have paddles in the back of my controller but i don't want to throw away money on a mediocre product ( if there is a real good product then it is worth the extra buck ). When i read about scuffs i notice that there are lots of problems with them and they don't last. The reviews of the new Razer Raiju and Nacon are also not convincing enough to pay that much. Then i came across the Strike pack of collective minds, is this a good option ? Just to be clear i don't wanna use any mods besides the backpaddles and i allready have kontrollfreeks. If u have other good options that are legal or have good experiences with the other products post below. Edit: thanks for the response, choices choices.... Edit : just bought the strike pack to because it is a cheap alternative and i can is then as backup when i buy a different brand controller elite/scuf/sharq.

My strike pack just shipped I can give you a follow up in a week if you'd like and can wait. Edit: Just received my strike pack today played with it for an hour or two in pve. Seems really great. Easy to install. Instantly notice the ease of mobility increase. It def will be a lot to get used to. Going to play strikes for a week before I jump back into pvp with it. Edit2: played with my strike pack for 5 hours tonight. 4 was pve past hour was crucible. The strike pack is great no problems. My mobility seems to have increased. My first two crucible games were meh but my third I glided away to cover never like I have before. Its super easy to map the buttons and I like the position of the triggers to the inner side of the handles. Super easy and almost feels natural but not quite. Definitely a great investment. Be careful with the micro usb input in the top of the controller as I read a review that they pulled apart somehow. Just don't yank the chord out if you disconnect it. Slowly jimmy it out.

    • Xbone Elite controller w/Cronus Max! Same price and/or cheaper than most of the other one's. Word of advice though. Get the Elite through Best Buy and get the warranty! Best decision I ever made! Gone through FOUR controllers since last Christmas! Yes, that's only a year and I don't abuse my stuff (In contrast I had a DS3 for 7 years!). The first one craped out TWO weeks out of the warranty period, which is only 90 days(Longer if it's bundled with an Xbone for some odd reason!)! Exchanged at store easy peasy! Use the Elite with my PS4 all the time with no issues. A bit of a learning curve but worth it. Just can't use chat if you plug a headset into the Elite. Good luck!

      • I've had a SCUF for just over a year now, I'd say the majority of "problems" caused to these controllers, you will need to take some extra care with them, that's for sure, but they don't break as easily as they are made out to.

      • The reason controllers like that don't last is because the majority of people that use them are sweaty try hard twitch streamers that misuse them because they can afford to keep replacing them. That being said, I still have my call of duty black ops mad cats controller from xbox 360 and it still works after 6 years with no problems.

      • I have a scuf and absolutely love it. My right paddle started acting up and not working, but it evened out after a couple days. The thing I really like about is the removable sticks, because I burn through sticks like crazy (the left one in like 2 months and the right one in 4).

Battlebeaver are better than scuf because they are buttons instead of paddles and less likely to break. This is what i would buy if i didn't play claw, seems much more durable and has similar quality just less advertisement

            • There are many games I play with my PS4 but, where Destiny is concerned, I wish Sony made a controller that competed with the XB1's offering... The shape of the L2/R2 buttons are very uncomfortable (particularly when you're trying to hold them down continuously), as are the thumbsticks since the controller itself is about an inch wider. You can't even hold the controller as well as XB1's equivalent, because there's so little depth in the handles you always feel like it's going to slip out of your hands.

              • I glued two popsicle sticks on the sides & used some masking tape to cover the d-pad then just screw in a pipe cleaner to hold it in place.

                • Sony has patent a lot of tech involving a new generation controller (which includes paddles and programmable buttons). I assume next gen controllers will already have those.

                  • I got a scuf about half a year ago and still works perfectly. Play bumper jumper buttons and remapped the paddles so I can jump with L1, reload/revive with right paddle and crouch/slide with left paddle. Improves my game and feels nicer with a longer right thumbstick which I can freely change whenever I want. I can see how maybe the paddles will get worn after extensive use but that's because their thin plastic and they can be replaced for cheap so it doesn't bother me. I recommend them but don't expect to pay the one time investment and not have to buy spare sticks or paddles at some point.

Selected the colors and functions (assignable paddles, adjustable triggers) for a scuf about four months ago. I haven't any complaints about its build quality and it is as nice as it was when I bought it. If you take care of it, like anything else, you may enjoy the same experience and opinion as I do. I am it's only user it goes in its soft shell case when not in use at home It goes in original box when I travel. I do not hammer the paddles, I press them I don't rage and slam it on the desk or throw it against the wall If due to wear and tear (or undisciplined rage) you do break a paddle, buy replacement paddles and replace them yourself or have your more capable sibling or parents do that Not sure what else to say. If you don't like the feel that's something else- basically not for you YMMV (clearly) Summary: Try taking care of your scuf controller if you buy one and maybe you will enjoy it more and longer

Strikepack Dominator FPS is what you want, interchangeable between controllers, remapping of buttons and less than half the cost of a scuff/elite (£40/$40) http://strikepack.com/ Check youtube for reviews everyone pretty much agrees its a scuf killer, Its what i'm buying when my scuf dies

                      • I have a scuff infinity and its really nice. Durable and responsive. Idk what reviews you were looking at but i really like mine i have had it for a few months now and its still like the day it was shipped to me. As long as you are taking care of the controller it should be fine. Another option are Cinch controllers i have not tried one but they look really solid. They have buttons on the back instead of paddles and to be honest they look more comfortable than my scuff. Here is a link if you want to check them out. https://www.cinchgaming.com If you decide to pick one up you can use our discount code Abyss Asylum for 10%. Hope you find what you are looking for.

                        • I JUST picked up a collective minds strike pack today. I'll weigh out the pros and cons for you from the little I've used it thus far. Pros: -You have the ability to have paddles on the back of ALL of your controllers, not just ONE. -The paddles are remappable to any button on the controller -Paddles are surprisingly clicky and easy to depress -Easy to install/remove -Less than 1/4 of the price of a third party "pro" controller Cons: -Requires you to be plugged in via USB to either ps4 or a wall charger -If using a wall charger, you get a small amount of input lag -paddles will take some getting used to (different finger positioning and grip) -Sometimes the paddles don't respond, requiring you to unplug it and reset it (only used it once briefly, and not sure if it's a persisting issue yet) Consensus: For the price, it can't be beat. 40$ worth it so far. If you have any questions about it, feel free to message me. PSN is same as above.

                            • Honestly, I have had some problems with my scuf (well, one problem, twice lol the button under the left paddle kept becoming permanently pressed down), but their customer service has always been incredible and I've never had to pay for any of the repairs (even after my warranty was up!), so I really can't say enough good things about them. I also have plenty of friends with scufs and they haven't had any issues with theirs. Also, you can always send your current controller in to them and they can "scuf it up" and basically put anything on it that you want whether it's paddles, grip, trigger stops, or anything else that they offer. This is just a bit cheaper than buying one of their designs if you don't want to pay full price (which is understandable, they're a bit expensive)

                            • Scufs have improved vastly recently, if you look at the recent reviews compared to the older ones, there is a huge difference. The problem used to be poor customer service and things getting broken easily. They fixed those two things a fair bit and are now one of the selling points of the controller. If you want a controller with paddles and other things, buy a scuf. I am VERY happy with mine.
