Iron banner rift is shit
Nobody knows how to play rift. Everyone treats it like clash and ignores the rift. I have played about 10 games in a row and they have all been blowouts. It's not fun. Thanks for ruining iron banner.

2 RepliesReally? I've only gotten to play about 10 or 15 matches so far, but almost everybody I've played with did pretty decent. I played solo every match. I never really ran into anything too infuriating. You of course have the dingbats that stand there next to the spark, while it's ready, with there No Land Beyond, just starting at it. But thankfully, it's only been about 1 or 2 per match. You also get the ones that will run the spark, but get all excited, and try to jump over a group of 3-4 enemies standing directly in front of them, instead of turning around, or waiting for their escort to clear them. But... those guys have also been only a few. Maybe you've just been unlucky so far.

Just do what they do. Farm your KD and then get a mercy. It's legit the only way to play rift without having a heart attack. Seriously Rift is the worst game mode ever.

Everybody seems to dislike clash but it's the only game mode people actually know how to play. Because all they do is shoot.

Fire teams, and the point advantage for that first dunk make the game so unbalanced that you really can just sit or do a dance most matches. A lot of players are sitting this one out, how you ask? by playing other games? No by dancing and and actually sitting down in game and waiting for rewards, or just getting kills for bounties, very few players actually seem want to play this idiotic game mode. I wonder why? Pointless, terrible idea for a PVP event like IB.

Bungie has shown they give zero -blam!-s about IB. They have said before that it doesn't work in IB, but here we are.

My only issue is spawn ins. I spawn in to a shotgun to the back. Spawn back in to a blade dance to the back by the same person. Spawn in and get shotgunned in the back again. If the other team is camping spawns can we at least spawn into theirs. So we can kill them the same.

1 ReplyIt's the bounty system that doesn't align with this game type. There really is no incentive to get the rift and slam it home tbh. All the bounties are centered around killing enemies. That's the real issue tbh. If they created a bounty where you or your fireteam slams the rift let's say 20 times then it would Balance out the game mode a little I think.

14 RepliesRift is a terrible game mode for iron banner. Rift as a game mode you play by choice is a different thing. It can be fun if you play, focused on the objective and adjusting your play style to that. Iron Banner however is played by EVERYONE :/ and thus team A is playing clash while team B is playing rift.

1 ReplyI cant tell you how many red bar teams I've gone up against already because it's like it's the new meta. I cant tell you how many times I've been spawn camped or killed because the spawns in rift are broken. I cant tell you how many times I've joined in the middle of a game into the losing team because it happens so often. I cant tell you how many clever dragon God rolls I've gone up against so far and could do noting to counter them, because there's so many of them. I cant tell you there's a variety of weapons being used in IB, because there's really only pulse rifles, hand cannons, snipers and shotguns. What I can tell you is that the current state of rift the crucible in general is completely unbalanced and one sided. There is no variety in weapons used any more. There's no variety in tactics. Most games have the same end results. Along with all the sweats and red bars it's hard to enjoy crucible at all, even if you're in the loosing team.

1 ReplyI actually have been having fun since I know I'm running support in Rift. Toss on a max stability Nirwen's and kill people that are coming in to the spark spawn. Hold that down, let a team mate grab it when it's available, and then help clear the path for them. Even queuing in as a solo, I had a lot of really good games, even going so far as to beat a couple of full fire teams. Only in my last 2 did I have any frustration, ad that was due to fighting multiple ram-locks while on a team of potatoes.

3 RepliesPart of the problem is the bounties are more geared for a clash like game.If the bounties were like get x amount of kills while guarding the spark or something for the actual game type,instead of the generic bounties we get no matter the game

There's a reason randos don't do well in rift ITS a FIRETEAM mode!!!!! Has no business in banner unless their failure of a MM crackerjack program can pit randos against randos and NOT 4 to 6 man seasoned fireteams against randos that only play rift when it's the daily and just sit back for the marks lol
