first place should always get a legendary reward in crucible

title. the first place person should be guaranteed a legendary, but there should still be the chance of people below to get rewarded in order to cater to bungie's love of casuals. im sick of grinding classic playlists for hours on end for several weekends and watching as people at the bottom of the board get eyaslunas even though i win most of the games. [b][i]IMPORTANT EDIT PLEASE READ:[/i][/b] at least a higher chance for top of the board. and maybe only in non-obj playlists to avoid people overplaying the objective or not playing it properly. [b][i]IMPORTANT EDIT #2[/i][/b] what do you think this forum is for? christmas cookie baking recipes? no dude, its a forum to discuss the video game. people will make suggestions and have opinions regarding the video game. if anyone in this thread accuses another individual of crying or whining or feeling entitled or, god forbid, [i]maining a class,[/i] they really need to reevaluate what the forum is intended to be used for. if you disagree with someone thats fine, there's no problem with having an opinion, but dont be an ass about it.

  • After I reach level 5 in IB I make sure I'm last place. I've noticed that I receive a legendary almost 50% more of the time as I would if I'm in the top 3. Anyone else notice the BS RNG?

      I definitely feel like the top 3 should definitely get rewarded more often. I get legendaries and IB more often when I do poorly compared to when I do well. One game, I pretty much did nothing but avoid gunfights and got a 400 artifact. Bit the game I cane first place in with 6 carries and 2 dunks (we won too), I got a blue helmet at 385 lol. Like, why even bother? I really wish there were more than four weekly bounties.

    • As much as I would like to agree, I think getting a guaranteed drop for first place would make cheating even more prevalent.

      No, that is unfair, i am 1st on the team 80-90 % and all that would do would make it easier for me to continue to be first, aka more engrams higher change of rolling god tier weapons to use in crucible.

    • I started a game yesterday and it was full of German and French retards with horrific connections. (The type you can't kill with a shotgun melee shotgun melee combo) so instead of my usual raging I just danced the whole match instead. Came last obviously and got the only legendary on my team. This game is FKD

      • Do like a descending percentage of a legendary drop based off of position like for a rough example 1st place has a 1/4 chance of legendary and 2nd has a 1/5 and so on

        That would just be ridiculous tbh. A lot of us would just have god roll everything. If we were guaranteed a chance at matadors, lunas, & party crashers just for coming in first place. & I am someone who is at the top of the leaderboards quite often. If they were going to implement something like that, they might as well just bring reforging back. Which is really what they should do. But it needs to be tweaked. & [i]expensive[/i]. So you can't just roll 500 times for a god roll. But, at least if you get a trash drop you'd have the opportunity to get something better...so even if you got a decent roll, you'd think twice about keeping it...that's how I think it should be at least. Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't be mad if they just brought back old school reforging either. I'd also like it if they simply just significantly increased drop rates...all the weapons that people want require some kind of set perks to be good. God roll Luna ; but no rifled? Means it's garbage & useless.

          • The best players don't need extra help with drops. They're obviously doing just fine as it is. Crap players that come last obviously need an extra bit of help so get the better rewards. Makes sense to me and I presume Bungie did that on purpose

            • My previous game we lost and the top scorer did almost 7k and got a mote of light. The other 5 scrubs (including urs truly) each got legendary gear... I felt sorry for thay top scorer.

              • I disagree. I like not having to sweat my ass off to come in first place. It's more enjoyable to just jump in and have fun and have the same chance at legendary gear no matter how well I do. Also they increased dropped rate so 8 out of 10 matches someone gets a legendary.

                  Better Solution: Don't display the Rewards other people get at end of match. Now no one gets jealous when someone has something they don't. Lower scores don't Actually have better odds, it's just that there's confirmation bias because these instances tend to be more memorable when you're salty. You only remember the 'weird' results, not the 'normal' ones. Can't see what everyone else got? No more salt. Done

                  • Bungie caters to low skilled average casual players, not skilled players. If players get destroyed and they don't get as much rewards as players that are actually good. This will frustrate crappy players and make them not want to play. When you play crucible, all you really need to do is touch the controller often enough that you don't get booted for inactivity. That's the best way to grind for rewards.

                      • Nah. I say keep it completely random. There have been times where I would go 10 matches in a row and get nothing but blue items and motes of light. Other times I've gotten great stuff. I'm okay with how it is. Besides, if you are winning most of the games you don't really need as much gear, right?
