Battlefield One

So, before I find myself being utterly destroyed due to not playing a battlefield in a few years. Any advice for somebody just starting out in it? I'd prefer to use semi-auto weapons, so any pointers on which particular one to use would also be appreciated.

  • squad spawn use your abilities(heal, ammo, spot, deal with vehicles) dont run like a blind animal everywhere SPOT go slow and lead your shots a little PTFO dont be a goddamn edgelord, no one cares that you went 65-3 and capped no zones in conquest, your kills did nothing to win the match lol

  • One question I have is it smarter to hold into battle packs for later use? Personally idk what they give you. I know you have a chance for exp boost and skins but unsure if you also get random guns? I had 3 but used my starter one for shits and gigs.

    • What I recommend for someone just starting out: Medic Selbstlader 1916, get this ASAP M1911 or 1903 Hammerless Bandage Pouch - heals in large chunks, heals on the move, can be tossed to teammates a fair distance Medical Syringe - Revives downed teammates, can kill enemies if you "charge it up" before you stab them or Rifle Grenade-HE - high explosive, bounces like a frag so you can use it around corners Frag/Stick Grenade or Incendiary Grenade - large radius, high damage, incendiary does damage over time, however Shovel I think the only things you'd need to buy with War Bonds are the 1916, 1903, Rifle Grenade, and/or the Incendiary. It's basically all starting equipment, which is actually the most useful, IMO. 1. Don't run around like a blind chicken. Always have a plan, if you leave cover know where to find more cover, and try to get there quick. 2. Listen. If you hear footsteps or a tank and you don't see anything on your minimap, it's an enemy. 3. Don't run over and try to heal/revive everyone. Take your time and make sure the area is clear first. No point in running over to a dead teammate just to give the enemy a 2nd kill. 4. Spot like your life depends on it. SPOT EVERYTHING. It's not only helpful for your own aim, if you see a red indicator above an enemy, but it's helpful for your team.

      • If you think you can solo take down that tank, you're wrong.

        • You'll be fine, I haven't played a BF in years since BF4 and instantly win every match of BF1. They made it so casual, almost anyone can win.

          • - Don't Leroy Jenkins the shit out of combat, Battlefield is weighted more toward team play instead of solo. - Play the objective in order to rank up your classes, which in turn grant you access to new guns. - Be sure to have at least one anti-armor guy (Assault or Support w/ limpet charges) in your squad if you're in a game with vehicles.

work as a squad, recent patch has allowed for you to request an order, and if not responded too, switches the squad leader. assault class is great fun to use, as is medic. If you like semi auto, medic will be the most logical class to use, couple of really nice semi autos in that class. the game is amazing, not perfect, but so much fun.

            • Spend an hour/two learning how to fly the OP attack plane or bomber, you will go on huge killstreaks. They're easy mode after the recent AA nerf.

                    • Get all classes to rank 3 but rank assault and recon to 10 for the henry (sniper) and hellriegal (assault). Every class is useful. If you're going to be medic don't be a social reject and not revive people >20m away. Same goes for support class, resupply people, you can just run by people pressing the button to throw the ammo patch down and it'll magnetize to them from up to 15m away. Flanks are everywhere. You have to constantly be on the move to be successful. Coming from someone who gets 40+ kills nearly every match. Conquest of course.
