STOP BUYING SILVER YOU FOOLS
You are opening the door to the gaming industry to be destroyed. We should demand to see how much money Bungie has made off the Silver. I bet it is a s*** ton. For that amount of money we should not be paying for DLC's.
Example: GTA you can purchase in-game money and other things but they do not charge for thier DLC'S. They are still a very successful company.
Other companies are watching how much they are making and are taking notes. Trust me when I say this they will follow suite if Bungie keeps making a fortune on this silver and still charging for DLC's.
I've been gaming off and on for almost 30yrs now. Yes, I'm old (for a gamer), 38 to be exact I got the NES in 87' for christmas and been hooked ever since.
But I fear my gaming days are numbered the recent release of Gears of War with their in-game purchases along with $100 price tag for the game with the DLCs, and Battlefield costing $150. 150? That's half the price of a -blam!-ing console for crying out loud!
These companies have gone completely out of control gouging thier customers. It's insane!
This will be my last console.... Sadly I do not see a cap in the industry it is only going to get worse.

Do you people not even realize there are games that give people content updates for free and have been doing it for the last 15-20 years? Content updates that, unlike Destiny, are huge in scale and take hours/days/or even months to get through? I mean....is 4 shaders, a few mask, and temp sparrow really a lot of content to you people? Do you not realize that most games that do micro-transaction get panned pretty hard by gamers? Especially when, like Destiny's, they are pretty over priced? Also, if Micro-transactions were really helping the game to "Great new heights" why was the latest expansion [b][u]SMALLER[/u][/b] than the expansion before [b][u]WHICH HAD 0 HELP FROM MICRO-TRANSACTIONS[/u][/b]? Micro-transactions encourages lazy design and only serves to makes games worse than they were before.

4 RepliesBuying Silver for cosmetic goods is OK. Buying Silver for only a random chance of getting something you want is NOT. Imagine going to McDonalds wanting to buy a Big Mac and them saying to you, you've just a chance of getting one...........you open up the bag and....... end up with another Fillet o Fish that you got yesterday when you went there. If you are going to spend the money, you should get what you want.

Eventually, people will get tired of being nickle and dimed to death and games will end up charging more for things that are necessary and not solely cosmetic. They'll stop playing completely, or at least lose a massive customer base. I wish people didn't buy it because it's all totally stupid and trivial shit they're paying for, but if they wanna throw money away, by all means... To be fair though, I see people do things in person that are far more stupid on a daily basis. I have next to zero faith in the general public.

Couldnt agree more. I spent $0 on FoTL, and I couldnt care less. im not sad I havent got a mask that ill forget exists in a weeks time. but if these kids want to but loads of cash of silver, let them go ahead. after all, THEY are the ones giving bungie the cash for more DLCs, not me. ill buy DLCs, but not, somewhat lacklustre, cosmetics. kids, carry on, youre funding this while I pay $40 a year total.

Firstly. No, my money and I can do whatever I like with it. Your post isn't going to stop me. Secondly. Where the hell do you buy your games from? Battlefield is $60. Thirdly. Games have been getting more expensive but that's because they're getting better. Eventually there'll be a point of perfection and that's where they'll start getting cheaper because they upgrade their systems to run the graphics easier.

All silver funds go into developing events and smaller expansions like the april update. And anyway what do you think they do with money. The majority of the money wouldve gone into developing the sequal. And i dont think bungie is going to change there payment scheme because some guy wants it to be like "the good ol days".

Buying silver so we can fund free events where they bring you new stuff to buy with silver. Like going to a shop and be told if I buy a shirt they will give me something free next time. When I come next time they show me a range of new shirts to buy and give me free hangers lol

You've been gaming for 30+ years, and video games have basically always been detailed at $60 the whole time through. How is that a sustainable market? DLC is a byproduct of inflation.

I spent $20 this year as I did last year. Bought 5 packages and got the sparrow the Ghost Ghost and several other mask and consumables. Now I still have 1300 silver for SRL. That make you mad?
