READ THE DAMN MODIFIERS!!!!!!
Why does nobody read the goddamn modifiers in the Heroic play list? This week has void burn. That means USE VOID WEAPONS. They deal double damage in void burn modifiers.
Don't give me any bullshit like "I play how I want" all you're doing is being a burden to your team by not gearing correctly to do as much damage as possible. I'm sick of being matched with idiots that are too goddamn lazy or too ignorant to equip an optimal loadout.
TL:DR: READ THE GODDAMN MODIFIERS!!!

1 ReplySometimes people need a day or so to get light levels up on a new set weapons for the weeks burns. My highest weapons are always set up from the last burn. It doesn't pay to run my lower weapons because I need my drops as high as I can .

3 RepliesRight now I'm just really amazed at how many players all of the sudden just can't stay alive in these strikes. I'm average at best and have been pretty much just spending my strike time reviving the other two guys until I eventually just quit out. My favorite are the year one players that think that they can still spawn into a strike(heroic) and sprint directly to the boss.

With or without burns, I'm beating the strike. To me it doesn't matter.

Some people aren't even [i]that[/i] lucky. Heck, most of us are just glad when our randoms aren't AFK. Elemental burns [b]help[/b], but [b]aren't required[/b] to complete the activity.

Your playing with randoms so you can't make them doing anything. Yes using an elemental corresponding to the current burns makes sense but some people maybe don't have that type or their best gear doesn't have it. I always using weapons with the current burn but hardly ever switch my subclass. Nightstalker is the best hunter class for generating orbs and helping the team. I can generate huge amounts of orbs to feed my team which generates orbs for me. Go to recruitment and find a couple guardians to speed run.

The funny and sad part is that using the correct element gear would also make things easier and faster for them, but people are too thick-headed and have this silly "it's my game, I do what I want *Eric Cartman voice**" attitude to everything so they don't get it.

But, you also have small arms, which I believe doubles primary damage but drops 1/4 on secondary and heavy. So Void special and heavy weapons are doing "normal damage", i.e. essentially buffed by 25%. Arc and Solar secondaries and heavies are at 3/4 damage disadvantage.

Interesting fact, modifiers like Specialist and Small Arms actually decrease the damage of the weapon type that isn't being increased. Do small arms decreases the damage of secondaries and heavies

I suggest this: (if you have time to waste). When you realize you are playing with idiots.... Try just shooting your guns wildly and purposely not hitting anything. Really!!! Just hang behind and let them hear your gun going off. At the end it will say 0 kills for you so you wave and grab your loot. It's hilarious. Try it.

Some people I know only have one set of gear consisting of their fave weaps and armor. For beginning players I would say that's okay but once they're about halfway through the vanilla "Destiny" campaign they should have one weapon per element of their preferred type. I do horizontal leveling across the board and it results in me leveling much slower as compared to other players, but another strategy is just holding on to blues to use as substitutes until one set of gear has reached a significant milestone, then infuse those blues into your legendaries / exotics.

2 RepliesGlad you're done powerleveling so you have multiple sets of gear with different elements all at your max light level. Good on you. For those of us still powerleveling, we can't afford to spread the light horizontally yet, only vertically. All our drops go into out very best set of gear. We can't diversify yet. Once your vertical assent hits the ceiling, then you spread the light horizontally across all you gear. My top gear happens to be solar. For me to swap to void would cost many, many light levels.

6 RepliesMy Void load out is freaking solid. The issue is, running Voidwalker is a burden. I don't care what anyone says. Wretched eye with no Sunsinger is a nightmare, especially with Void burn.

I'm not so concerned about what weapons people use when there's also small arms on as I am with with how they're seemingly completely oblivious to what the enemeies are using. Look, if there are void enemies you freaking go for those first. Example, the new summoning pits (I always forget the name) and there's a big void shooting eye spawning that my two randoms just completely ignore while getting smashed by it over and over again. I actully quit that strike at the boss and I've quit at the start of it every time since - because I'm not risking ending up in the same mindboggling scenario.

4 RepliesYour weapon doesn't matter, what does is using the right burn gear, they have triple the damage if an elemental burn is active.
