• I wanted to add a thought about ranking the raids after our discussion. As well as ROI and all the ways you can rank to max level. VOG and TTK were the first raids introduced with the next major DLC. With the exception of HOW and POE. Crota was the second which turned out to be a cake walk. And so is the most recent WOTM. I'm wondering if this is their pattern. Bring out tough raid...people grind. Bring in second give them everything super easy.

        • In response to the issue of ranking in IB, I stand on what I said before... once your weeklies are up, you have to win to advance. I'm just listening to the part of the podcast where many of you are acting like there is no problem with it. Fact: if you have no bounties left, you cannot advance without wins. If you are running solo, this can take many hours of play because you cannot control the play of others. Your results might have been different as most of you were playing with fire teams and you were obviously winning. For myself, it took three hours of play to get the final win needed to hit rank 5 on my first character. Three hours for one win! Could I be a better player? Yes. Can I carry an entire team, especially against fire teams? No way. The fix is easy, as I've said many times before; instead of awarding 5 loss medallions, award 60% of the points for a loss. Simple, easy, and progression continues without winning. Speaking for myself, there is nothing coming out of IB even remotely worth going through what I went through to get that first rank 5. In this one respect, old IB was FAR superior to the current version. Now I don't have issue with anything else I heard, but I strongly disagree with the suggestion this was a non-issue.

            • Bump for a later listen. Swamped with work and a sick Tot! Heard my jumping ability got called out for my performance on the raid last Friday! I resent that! I found EVERY SINGLE hole that raid had to offer! Should've gotten a damn achievement!!!

              • While I am still listening to this podcast I want to comment about IB progression before I forget. It sounds like for most of the people on the podcast that IB progression was rather fluid and quick. However it also sounded like all of your guests were in active clans so I suspect that I can presume that all of you were playing on premade teams (or the one's play style meshed with Supremacy) which probably won more often than lost. If this is true then that explains why IB seemed so easy since progression is based only (outside of bounties) on winning. For people who played solo on match made teams this could be a very different story. I know it was for me early in the week when it seemed like I had team mates that could not get it through their head the importance of picking up crests, denying the other teams crests (when safe) and most of all, the foolishness of trying to take on a group of opponents by ones self. Supremacy is a PVP game mode that demands cooperation and coordination and lone wolf playing does not cut it (unless you play at a distance and even then you are at a disadvantage). For Solo IB players, IB on supremacy can definitely seem like a slog, especially if after 3 or 4 consecutive losses, even though you were always in the top 3 positions of your team at the games end. Now things did get better towards the end of the week, but I a tribute that to the ones who were still playing solo were the ones who learned this game modes techniques and enjoyed playing it, making wins more likely. However, when you can not progress because of losses then losing progression through the lack of daily bounties also seems pretty sour, so I can understand those complaints.

                • CE- Even though it was short this was by far my favorite raid. I loved the beginning maze especially for the first time. Running around clueless where to go, hoping the trall and knights wouldn't catch me. I also enjoyed the loot and that shader? Still rock the glow every once in awhile. I got my first Gjally on Crota. VOG- its ranked lower because I hated the middle. Templar, stupid oracles, and that maze. Actually I hated everything up until the boss. It was tedious and repetitive. It did offer the best loot even though it would elude me. Fatebringer, my vision of confluence, etc. Kings Fall- I would rank this one above both above if it wasn't for the terrible loot and slow light progression. The mechanics were actually fun and everyone had a job to do. The mazes and jumping puzzles were hysterically frustrating the first couple of times. That stupid second ship after you duck the first! My poor warlock, so many deaths. WoTM- I was intimidated to even try this at first. I thought after Kings Fall this one would be even more of a chore. I was mistaken. This one similar to Kings Fall has a terrible light progression rate on loot. What I don't like about it the most is the constant dead space between bosses. I don't want to run in a linear line twiddling my thumbs, begging for some action. If I had one positive to say about it though, they gave us plenty of exotic chests. Now if only RNG would favor me.

                  • Sorry I'm late responding here, been one of those weeks! Great show, awesome seeing Mayhem back for another round! Did the raid last Friday with Puck, Mayhem, Kung Lao, N7JAB, and Berryhill and it was a BLAST!!! Special shout out to Puck and JAB for guiding us through and being patient with us (and especially me) while we learned our way through the experience and for helping us get our exotic quest set! I like WotM, even thougth I admit it's an "easy raid" more in the vien of Crota. But after KF, I'm welcome to that. I didn't really like KF, except for the last encounter, which I thought was BAD ASS. There is certainly a case to be made that WotM is too easy, but I'm not going to make it. I can see the whole encounter running in the 1-2 hour range easy... but I remember getting VoG down to that timeframe as well (and I consider VoG to be the "gold standard" for how I'd like raids to be, still to this day). And you know what's great about WotM too? GOOD -blam!-ING LOOT! Good Guns! BADASS LOOKING ARMOR! KF really failed for me in that regard, the intrensic perks were shit, the armor (at least for Titan) looked HORRIBLE, ect. All it provided was infusion fuel. I hated that. WotM is certainly missing an "epic feel" that KF had in spades, especially in regard to the end boss encounter. I'd rate "Epic feel" of raids to be KF, VoG, CE, and WotM. It does definitely add to enjoyment of doing the raid, and feeling of accomplishment to FINISHING it... but I still think WotM is still damn fun. One thing I'm going to be sure to do, is take this raid in MODERATION, and I'd recommend those of you who are already tired of it to do the same. Yes it's easier. And you're only going to make the experience more stale more quickly by running the SHIT out of it. I know we all want that gear, and we all want the light level, and we want that shit now... plus doing activities with friends is fun as shit... but if you're already getting worn out, TAKE IT SLOW. THERE'S NO RUSH! We have a whole year more of dealing with this as our main content, with little "events" peppered out through the season. Anyways, YES I was a hole finding fool last Friday. My God! If there was a hole I jumped into during an encounter. I like to strafe jump while firing, and it sure didn't work the hell out during the raid. I mean shit, during Death Zamboni there's a hole right at the back, I think it's where you come out of. Hit that -blam!-er like 3 times in a row. During Final Boss, my Servitor ALWAYS spawned on the opposite side, never the middle, so I'd hit to the air to get a better line of site from across the ramp, hit it with the cannon, hold charge, fall into a flipping hole with the cannon, and cause us to wipe. I mean SHIT! I'll have to keep my feet on the ground more often from here on. And Lost, you just got PWNED by RWG! *high fives RWG* Damn girl I like it! See ya'll next cast!

                    • VoG. Best raid. Still play it to this day. Best weapons. Best perks. Best armor. It was challenging and rewarding. Also, playing with the VoG weapons is better than current year weapons. Even at level 160/170. Bring out Icebreaker, Fatebringer and VoC :)

Alright, got some things to talk about here Thoguhts on loot changes
Im shy guy, most of my time is spent playing solo, so a lot of rumble. Any teams activities i play are iron banner, or trials. The raid has never been my go to, but i did enjoy vault of glass a lot. Us crucible players kinda lack proper loot sometimes, shax only gives us arnor when we rank up, and i could argue that going flawless is one of the hardest achievements in the game. So any chances at good loot are heavily rare. Im glad ill have more ways to level my character
Favorite raids
I despised kings fall with a passion, the mechanics simply asked too much from a six man team. Its not necessarily that they were all hard because golgoroth and sisters were fun, but the fact that theres almost no room for error. I don't like that everyone is forced to have a role, since messing it up means everyone loses. Overwatch is a team based game, with some roles more big than the other. I often play secondary tank and combat medic, and thats anpretty big role, but i never felt like any mistakes i made cost the whole team. Most loses are due to the team performing badly as a whole, not because one guy didint do good. If i fail, i want it to be as a team, not one mans fault. I get to choose if i want to be the wall, or the gunner using the wall for cover, i get to choose my role and thats what makes overwatch great. Vault of glass and skolas were great in a sense that here was few roles that needed to be filled, all they needed was support from those who werent taking a relic, or in the portal and failure came from bad overall support Skolas had simple mechanics, it was just a matter of staying alive, and getting each others butts, the difficulty came from the fighting, not bogus mechanics Vault of glass was great that the mechanics were simple and there was a role that the best players can take while the other players could just support them. With the difficulty also coming form the fighting I'm trying to say that i hate being forced into a role im not comfortable with and thats all kings fall was, just forcing players into failure, especially on the jumping plates, war preist, and oryx. id rather be the guy whose keeping the big man alive. Not only that, if they were gonna make it so hard, the reward better be worth it, not worth all the wipes to get a crappy handcannon. I wouldent mind the difficulty if it was actually worth it
Supremacy final Thoughts
I think people mistake what makes supremacy so fun, people think its only the fast pace and running around that makes it good. Sure but im not an agressive player, im more of a tactical player. What made it so fun was that it really made you think about your engagements. Why woukd i try to kill that guy all the way over there when hes got his friend to pick up the crest? That crest is all by itself, ill make a move but ill watch that lookout point as well, or xXswagmaster420Xx could get it while i watch his flank. These guys are hungry for my crest, and i cant 1v3 them, so ill just evade their fire while my teamates gun them down Theres the enemy, theyre pushing the court yard, ill try to get them to rush so their backline teamates can't deny the crest Supremacy is one of the more tactical gamemodes where the combat savy and the situationally aware win, and i feel like those who have trouble paying attention to the situation at hand suffer since the objective can be used as bait, scoring, and can be denied. Remember that the crests are a weapon too!
Thoughts on the class item bonanza
I like to kick as and look good, i dont mind getting so many from the forge
Good listen folks

                          • This is what I have to say Raid difficulty wise ((without cheese)) ((during there relevancy in there DLC)) -KF -VoG -WotM ((we still don't have heroic yet)) -CE ((it's so easy PoE Skolas was harder and that was easy)) Loot Quality wise -VoG -CE -WotM -KF ((the worst loot in the game except the LMG)) WotM: it's fun and fast based with 5 exotic chests and great raid loot. VoG: Mysterious and aggressive with the best loot that are still memorable to this day. CE: that raid was epic on the first part and then it started to become more like a strike with bullet sponge adds and minimum mechanics but the loot was sooo good. KF: Best team based raid with changing mechanics, memorable phases and uniq bosses but the loot is so bad that even if they raise the light Lv rewards I doubt ppl will do it regularly. Loot is the main factor for ppl to raid take the effectiveness away and a lot of ppl won't bother. --------------- The post master needs to be fixed a lot of my friends have lost raid loot because of the green/blue. I just hope Bungie make all the raids relevant again and revamp KF raid loot.

                              •
-This Week at Bungie (Hard Mode RoI) -More green blues -Ranking Destiny's Raids -Preparing for Hard Mode -Supremacy love it or hate it -Favorite moments of the last week
1. I'm glad that Hard is coming out, however I don't agree with this being the easiest raid. I mean sure if you have a group of people who can communicate really well, then yes it's quite easy. However, the biggest problems I've come across is people not listening to instructions and doing their own thing. Example is I had a group that on Aksis part 2 that decided the entire right side would not pick up a cannon or a bomb because both guys were empowered, then would get pissy when we wiped (and mind you we did things correctly 8 wipes (stupid crap, mainly two not letting us know who was empowered) previous) It's people's idiocy that frustrates me with this raid. I think it's just that it's so simple but people just can't seem to grasp the simplicity of it. 2. I have noticed that with the greens on the lock, and I understand the utter frustration that mayhem felt when he lost gear. I personally haven't experienced this issue, as I purposely pick the engrams up and just delete them on the spot (greens and blues alike), as they are no benefit to me. But this green drop should not exist at our light levels. This should NOT ever be a thing, esp in the raid. They need to address this issue, the sooner the better. 3. Let's see if I have to order them: (1)Vault of Glass (I played it the least of all raids, but it was always the one I loved the most) (2)WOTM (when runs are good, easily here. Just love the fact that we all have to do something, and not just a select individual) (3) Crota (was my first raid, and I carry fond memories of it) (4) Kingsfall (dunno if it was the hours upon hours of failed runs, the people who couldn't grasp the mechanics, or the sheer fact that I literally spammed the crap out of it every week, but I hate this raid) 4. Not doing anything too major in prepping. I think I'm just keeping the exotic engrams that drop from now till then for light bumps, but I'm not going crazy over it. 5. Supremacy..... All in all I like the mode. I believe there was a lot of issues people had with not understanding the modes' scoring system. Even then the CQC emphasis throws people off. However I really think the biggest issue is that everyone was so used to the slow, methodical play that crucible was (a whole fn year of it), that the fast paced mode like supremacy just feels out of place. Personally I think if this mode would have been introduced during the quick paced year one metas, it would have gotten a much better reception than it has now. I posted a bit of my thoughts on CLs thread, if people are a bit more curious as my stance. 6. My favorite moment of the week was helping a buddy of mine get through his first WOTM run, as his clan mates were not able to complete the raid (see my first point here, as it was his clan mates that I was trying to help out......*sigh*). Good stuff as always guys 👍 Can't wait for the next episode. 😎
