I've seen a deluge of posts hating on people for already instating raid requirements and I just have a few things to say about it. If you disagree that's OK but I feel a lot of this should be said.
First off, it's OK to have requirements. People asking for experienced players likely have either already beaten it, or are struggling themselves on the raid. I firmly believe at this stage of the raid's lifespan non experienced players should be playing together, not with more experienced players.
You only ever get the chance to blind raid once. My group beat it without guides and I'm extremely proud of that. Blind raiding is possibly the best experience this game has to offer, and it only comes once a year. Dont waste it. Even if you get stuck at the beginning you guys should take this week to try and figure things out for yourselves. If you've never raided this will be quite an experience, if you have you should be a bloodhound for hunting mechanics.
Secondly, how can you get mad at people for asking for 365+ when the suggested light is 370? It's very beatable at 365 but groups below that have struggled. If you didn't make 365 and someone who did doesn't wanna raid with you there's no reason to be mad. Aksis is a DPS weigh station, if you can't do damage you will hold back your team regardless of skill. We worked hard to reach light level in time (those of us who didnt take advantage of exploits). There are some I've seen asking for 380, I understand it but that's a little absurd IMO a skilled 365 is fine.
Thirdly, this is where I start disagreeing, people are asking for weapon requirements. A skilled player can beat this with any weapon set they like. I will say this, it's ill advised to enter a raid without a strong high impact sniper but gjally is not necessary (although helpful). Players will always excel better with the weapons they are comfortable with.
Remember, try to have fun out there and don't let other people's requirements get you down. There are plenty of people who haven't even tried the raid yet. Squad up with them and hit it blind. It's too early in the year for you guys to try to latch on to other players when you don't meet their requirements, you'll only ruin your own experience. These requirements save those of us who have completed it a lot of time and stress. I promise once I'm stronger and have a few more completions under my belt I'll be helping anyone and everyone who needs it but it's too early to ask us for that right now. It is not too early however, to try to put together a group of matched skill and level players. Anyone 365 plus worked hard to get there, and shouldn't have to feel slowed down by people with less damage output.
Again if you disagree that's OK but try not to be salty or rude about it. Thanks for listening.
edit: as FonFahbre pointed out, you can also always post your own requirements and build a group that fits them. There's no reason any of you can't host the game yourself and recruit a team.
Edit 2: as of last night I hit 370 an began doing sherpa runs. Got my friends to aksis pt. 1 before we called it quits for the night. Hopefully we'll tackle that tonight. Please do not spam me for help as I'm committed to helping this group first. The run requirement was 350+.

I'm on ps4 looking for a raid to take me through on my titan. I want to learn

This should be a stickied "peer advice" post. #kudos

I'm happy we were able to blind raid up until the final final stage.
-
Last night we ran the whole raid with 4 friends, and 2 randoms. Everything went really well. Got all the monitors and all. Then in the last boss, it was wipe after wipe. I was the lowest light at 367. The two randoms were teamed up on the right side, and just couldn't stay alive, or kill their captain. It was just constant wipes from that side. One of them admitted it was hiis first time, the other swore he had done it before, but he was dying just as much as the other. Then we went back to LFG, and got two new randoms. We then 1 shot the boss. Light level was not an element in play. It was just skill and experience. We got the final chest/monitor, and the randoms were quite happy. Unfortunately, 2 of my friends got lagged out after collecting the boss loot, and didn't get the final monitor chest, which is total bull. But it is what it is. Moral of story, experience wins.

Honestly its the nature of this community. Criticize players for wanting to level up quickly then get mad when those players opt to play with other players who leveled as they did. There has never been nor is there a code or creed for players of higher light to help everyone who is lower light than them. They can choose to help or not to help you and have the right to make that decision without others attempting to shame/ guilt trip them.

2 Repliesjust saying my low impact sniper can out dps high impact snipers. All you need is a sniper, regardless of its archetype.
-
I agree with you. Requirements on light probably makes the more sense. But,someone who is 360 ish can do the first 2 parts easily with a good team and could improve there light quite abit as they progress. The weapon requirements is totally rediculous the ghorn is good but not the beast it used to be. The people who want these requirements seem to be people who want to either try rush through or want to be (in a way) carried through. I have 2500 hours ish on this game and around 400 raid clearances across 3 characters and still haven't beaten as is because it always ends up to late at night to carry on but so what? Why are people in such a rush

7 RepliesMy group had 1 360+ 2 355 3 under 350 Day one and we beat it that day
-
Agree with everything. It's the, "must have 50 Oryx HM completions" that make me laugh.
-
I don't agree with the assertion about blind raids. I would argue most people don't feel like spending 3-6 hours on their first completion. My playtime is very limited, as is most people's, I assume. I don't see the fun in beating my head against a wall for little to no reward for hours on end.

1 ReplyI have yet to complain on the forums. But I feel I have a right to. I worked hard to hit my light level (currently 367) I've got raid capable gear, and lots of experience raiding in general. BUT I get looked over. I've been looking forward to this raid for a whole year. Thought I did everything right. Followed grinding guides to maximize my leveling potential . Still, when it came time - overlooked. Now here we are in week two, and all the lfg's are requiring 365+ AND must know the fights. How can I know the fights if I've never fought them? Against my better judgement I went and watched a tutorial on the raid. Why? Because in order to get picked up I have to know the fights. So I ruined the blind experience for myself in hopes that I would get invited. Nope, not yet. I'm a year one veteran with over 2000 hours logged in this game, and even at 367 light - I can't find a group willing to take a wotm newb. That's sad. That's why I'm salty. It's discouraging. And while the fault is not the pickup groups - it's actually the people I play with, it's still shitty.

3 Repliespeople who say they know the mechanics but are actually clueless are the worst

Few things I want to point out . People asking for 380+ is too much and 370 for fresh is absurd but if they ask for 370 in aksis is there are few reasons. The captain can one shot you if he shoots the scorch cannon at you directly , less than 370 would die in one shot. Another thing is aksis is the boss that required more fire power than atheon, crota and oryx. Atheon had times of vengeance, crota sword and oryx had blight which no matter how many dps you do you need 16 bombs to kill him. Other thing is many people said kings fall didn't do like this at launch everyone had chance especially who can jump good that's because the people who finished had touch of malice and for few weeks three guardians with touch of malice was enough stagger oryx even if they're light level or their team light level was low but this is different on wotm. Also please be reminded that in aksis there are 4 safe platforms meaning that there are 5 phases for dps but after the 3 platforms boss would enrage in which the ads would spawn heavily especially those bullet shanks and low light level would have a hard time to survive and then the last dps when he teleports to middle like oryx. He needs a huge burst dps. I am not saying saying less than 370 party cannot do it. It's just survival and dps would be tough. A good party of two 370 plus and the rest 370 minus can do good. That's how I finished my raid wotm yesterday first time . I had 200+ raid completions from others

7 RepliesMy titan is 366 and i haven't done the raid yet. Is that high enough light? 175+ raid clears before RoI.

1 Replynone one fn knows the raid because no one fn invites us. damn you bungie for doing this an damn you people who want 380+. I've seen 350 am 360s do the damn raid in a hour so wtf

Back in my day the LFG requirements were a flawless trials emblem, max grimoire, a Gjallarhorn and icebreaker or you wouldn't EVER be able to visit the vault of glass on normal difficulty or skolas.

Requirements for me are: 360+, mic, and must listen carefully to strategies. That's it. You don't listen you get the boot.

Edited by Cerillion: 9/29/2016 4:00:31 AMIf you are struggling to get 365, farm omnigul. It takes 2 hours to get from 355-365 at max. At this point, if you are not 365 than you are either lazy, or don't have time to play. But its not hard to get there. If you are lazy, than you are in no place to complain about requirements. If you have no time than I see where you are coming from, i get it, but all it takes is 2 hours total. Just post here for two people 350+ with an exotic sword and buckle down and grind for two hours. If you don't the strat then google it. Just a little tip on the side, save the endgame stuff like nightfall, COE, archons forge, weekly crucible bounty, etc. for after you hit 365. That way all that stuff can drop at 365+ whereas it would be capped at 365 until you hit 365.

Edited by DirtMonkey23: 9/29/2016 3:22:03 AMWhat guns should i bring into the raid? Just got to 365 and dont know what i should infuse.......

It's as if new people to raid hasn't heard youtube

6 RepliesI don't have a problem with raid requirements, it's your group you can do what the hell you want. I just find some of them ridiculous is all. Some sound like you're on a dating app,"experienced adult, have touch and black spindle. Message me." Some are just obnoxious, especially when it says no scrubs and the poster is under leveled and doesn't know the mechanics. My favorite lfg post was "no Dead Orbit people!"

4 RepliesMy opinion is very simple. The elitist are only thinking about themselfes with these requirements. But lets define them first before people feel attacked. Elitists are those that think they are the best just because they beaten the raid multible times during the first weekend. They also have so much time that they can grind almost 24/7 and cant understand why some cant since the elitist dont have work or school. These people are also the once's that will leave after a wipe because they think they are so much better then others. Then there are people that make requirements because they do have a job and cant spend hours grinding or waste time on the raid. People like these i can understand completly. Mostly because these kinds of people have no problem teaching the raid to someone when they do have the time. They will also stay and fix a problem if it causes wipes. But thats just my opinion about the people with those requirements. But a small tip, if you are new to this raid and have no experience with it or are a starting raider, try and find people that are also new. That way you can learn together and maybe even create a raid group to do it every week. Dont ask to be carried. Try to learn it and beat it because of your own strenght. The feeling when you beat the raid will be so much better then after you have been carried.

11 RepliesMy raid requirements... Must not be a white dood droppin the N-bom every 30 seconds to be cool. Must not sound like Darth Vader breathing into your mic Must not have the urge to listen to yourself talk CONSTANTLY Must not chew without proper use of the mute button. Go head. Call me an *sshole

Very sensible post. I ran the raid for the first time blind, with a blind team ( 1 with some experience) , last night. I was the highest light at 358. First section was ok, but we didn't have the DPS or know how for phase 2. That's ok.... It reminds me a little of early vog days. We'll be back, and we'll get there. No rush, no salt.... Enjoy these weeks, it'll be a boring, easy cakewalk before you know it....
