How Can People Say High Grimoire Score Doesn't Equate To Some Sort Of Skill

I guarantee if you go through all the requirements to max out your Grimoire, by the end of it you will progress and become a better player. Going from lets say a 2500 Grimoire to 3500 is a big transition. I look at people with high Grimoire scores as Navy Seal's. You know you can drop them in any situation and they will perform. There might be some people more skilled in certain areas, but they're a jack of all trades. I would take someone with a 3500 Grimoire over a 2500 any day for my fireteam. That score insures confidence to me that they will know what they're doing.

Just because you have a high grimoire has no link to your skill. Some people simply focus on the things they need to do rather than looking for ever bit of grimoire material.

  • Getting ghosts is way to boring. I would up my score by nearly 400. Medal score for pvp or dtr score are what matters to pvp players like me.

      • High Grimoire players are experienced not skilled.

        • In some ways it does because you have to get kills with all weapons and play all game modes.

          • Grimoire to me pretty much = time spent in game. A good chunk of it comes from dead ghosts and getting lots of kills with weapons and killing different types of creatures. The majority of that can be done in patrol. Yeah yeah you gotta get some kills in pvp, but that just means you gotta spend a lot of time in the different pvp modes. As far as the game has come the only real merit of skill you can show is having beaten Skolas as its damn hard to carry through it. I wouldn't even call lighthouse an achievement cause you can get lucky and face all teams with an average k/d of .1

            • I have helped/carried people, with higher grimoire, through skolas many times, and trust me their score didn't equate to skill. There are some grim that cover an aspect of the game, that could require skill, but finding ghosts, chests, etc, does not take skill. A certain amount of kills with a sidearm, doesn't take skill, it just means you used it for a few days, some don't have time for that. There is a new member of my clan, that was a great PVE player on xbox. He was on the fire team to 4-man hard mode VOG. He is a great player, with tons of raid and gaming experience. He is switching over to the PS4, and just built his 3rd character. He hasn't had the time to go after chests, pvp, ghosts, etc, and his grim shows it. But he is better than 99.999% of the players you or I will ever play with. Be a dumb mistake to not want him on your team over a guy who mostly does patrols all day and collects ghosts.

              • There's like nothing to PVE. It's a joke. It's way too easy and obviously caters to the casual crowd. You don't need to have max grimoire score to be considered "good" at PVE, because anyone can be good at it. PVP is a whole different story. It requires you to be skilled. That's where high KDs usually show level of skill.

                • Anyone with two thumbs and at least four fingers can have a high grimoire. It just takes time.

                  • I'm pretty sure the higher grimoire score the more acceptable to be called a treasure hunter. Medal score in correlation to k/d is more acceptable

                    • I have to agree with you and not becaue i have a 3500+ grim but because a high grim score tells you that player is experienced in the game, although high grim score doesnt reflect pvp skill, im average in pvp and i have seen some people with low grim score that are beasts in pvp.

                      • I suppose that's gonna hold some truth. A player with high grimoire score should know how to do just about everything and be extremely helpful. But an extremely skilled fps player should be quick to learn and have the skills to help them succeed just as well, if not more so.
