I guarantee if you go through all the requirements to max out your Grimoire, by the end of it you will progress and become a better player. Going from lets say a 2500 Grimoire to 3500 is a big transition. I look at people with high Grimoire scores as Navy Seal's. You know you can drop them in any situation and they will perform. There might be some people more skilled in certain areas, but they're a jack of all trades. I would take someone with a 3500 Grimoire over a 2500 any day for my fireteam. That score insures confidence to me that they will know what they're doing.

Boy this post is outdated Now 3500 are the noobs in this case

4 RepliesIt equates to experience, but skill is determined by how they play, not the amount of points they have. I expect people with higher grimoire to pefrorm better than lower ones, but this does not mean that all high grimoire people automatically have skill.

The people who are too lazy to get the dead ghosts that's who.

11 RepliesDon't compare anybody with a high grimoire score to the best special forces group we have.
-
The problem is: people don't say if you have a high score you have skill. What most of those people say is, you only have skill, if you have a high score! See the difference?

Edited by geordie007: 8/23/2015 10:52:42 AMdont give a damn about Grimoire, the day I start openeing chests or looking for ghosts will be the day I stop playing. If you have all adept weapons then you know what you are doing. If someone asks for my Grimoire then I know they are shit and I dont play with them. Grimoire and even mentioning it means you are just a grinder
-
2 RepliesIt doesn't show skill. Look at my grimoire, then look at my kd in crucible
-
Grimore doesn't mean skill. I can't tell you how many times recently I go into vog with a 34 with 3500+ grimore and they don't have any clue what is going on. I'd take a 2500 grimore that just doesn't want to ghost hunt then a 3500 that had never completed vog.
-
Up until a few days ago I never attempted to go ghost hunting. My grimoire was around 2700 with over 600 hours spent playing. Lately I had been getting into fireteams with clearly noob 34s (no skill, unupgraded crappy weapons) who had significantly higher grimoire than me. I don't play crucible, I don't ghost hunt. Pvp obviously builds skill, but ghost hunting doesnt. It's not exactly an accurate representation of skill, though I admit it does matter to a degree.
-
10 RepliesI played with someone who had a 3400 grumpier in the crucible I have around 2800 he got about 800 points I got about 2600 this is skirmish btw your point is?
-
I think many people feel that a high (but not maxed) grimoire may simply mean you play a lot.
-
7 RepliesI just don't like it when people say grimoire is just "ghost-hunting". Ghosts only give around 500 points(if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me), a small number compared to the total Max grimoire. There are other things besides ghosts. Other than that, I have no problem with high or low grimoire. I'll let your actions dictate your skill.

Only a 1% is close to cap or already capped, so 99% have no idea what grimoire means... not even the managment of destiny.
-
2 RepliesA solid amount of the grimiore is achieved by getting 100 wins in 5-6 different crucible game modes as well as getting at least 5000 kills with every class and on every class in crucible. It's part experience and part skill. I'm currently working on salvage wins and once the doubles card gets fixed I have max score.
-
2 RepliesYouTube exists. You can grind Max grimore in less than two weeks if you're a no lifer. Doesn't mean you're experienced, just you really need something better to do with your time.

Anyone can get it if carried and we do a lot of carrying in this community I personally don't want to kill a enemy over and over for grimeor
-
Hi there. 3570 grim here. I consider myself highly skilled, but grimoire score I mostly consider a sign of a completionist. I know plenty of very highly skilled player with low grimoire. While I would say in general a person with high grimoire will have a degree of skill, it is not an accurate indicator of a players skill
-
High Grimoire = Extremely well rounded player. It shows that you've done a wide variety of activities ( collect ghosts, public events, strikes, raids, wolves bounties, POE, etc ), have acquired a large collection of weapons, have used a lot of different weapon types, killed a lot of different types of enemies in large quantities. It also shows how much you've spent in the crucible, what type of game modes you've done and how many kills you've gotten. In theory, a player with a high Grimoire should be good at the game but it is a better indication of how much a completionist you are. It is however possible to be an FPS player with very high skill and a low Grimoire score. A lot of the die hard compet ice FPS players could hardly give a rats ass about Destiny's RPG components and won't invest the time to do activities to boost their Grimoire score.

3 Repliespeople with low grimoire will say that just like people with low k/d will say the stat is overrated
-
I got a kind of high grimoire score and i suck at crucible got 0.9kd

So does that mean when I had 2500 for a long ass time because I chose to not make an additional character mean that u would have ignored me from being on Ur trials team. Or what about judging someone with kd when they play for fun and not to win. I base my judgment of a person skill on higher standards. Such as using the easy mode combo. Hunter with thorn matador and blink. No respect. I'll add the guy that kills me with a sniper rifle in hand to hand combat. I'll add the guy that survived my fusion grenade to the face by doing a fist of havoc even though he knew it wouldn't kill me....and then proceeds to kill me. Or how about the titan that runs away....u chase. BAM!....no he didnt. Shoulder charge to the dick......oh wait what shoulder charge is for n00bs? Perhaps but when u use it to dodge shotguns and counter attack. That takes skill. You all know who u are. My nechrochasm and I will see you next iron banner. Later guardians

I'm a navy seal :D

4 RepliesEasily. High grim score doesn't equate to skill. What? Was my gullet supposed to burn out or something if I said it?
-
I do Pve = no skill

3 RepliesKilling repetitive ai at a very slow pace with zero meta every run doesn't improve ANYBODYs ability as a player Its extremely easy to kill ai here with no effort or a demand for great accuracy or even improvement on your part. Killing these ai is what will build up your grim easily I went into my 1st raid thinking it would be rough but it really wasn't anything like the forums said. Killing 5 actual thinking players will improve u as a player than killing 10,000 ai that can't adapt and always spawn into precision shots After that any slow any ai that doesn't move around and are easy precision kills are a joke and not worth saying its a challenge Grimiore won't tell u accuracy, reaction time, or the ability of a player to quickly adapt.
