This thing is the closest to the halo battle rifle than any other weapon in this game. I could only imagine a full team using this weapon... WOW can you say team shot FTW?!? Thing tears in PvE as well, especially when ArcBurn is on!

Edited by CaptainChortles: 10/22/2014 5:50:42 AMThe problem with Headseeker is that it only works within the same burst. If you hit one burst to the body and one burst to the head, you don't get a damage bonus. You need the first round of the burst to hit the body and then the other rounds in the same burst that hit the head will deal 25% more damage... and it doesn't work if you only hit the head with a burst. In fact, even if you fulfill the conditions, sometimes it decides not to activate. It may be glitched, because several times in that video you did, in fact, hit the body and then all the rest of the shots in the burst hit the head. It's so useful? Guess how many times it activated in that whole video, I counted. Zero times. That's right. Headseeker activated 0 times and saved you 0 bullets. You did the base 21 headshot damage with the weapon with every single headshot. Headseeker pops a 26 when it activates. I don't know why it's so useless in its current state but it, sadly, is. In PvP, at least. Secret Round is alright but if you're accurate, the only time it'll really kick in is when you miss all or most of a burst, in which case you want to be able to fire again as soon as possible, not fire a fourth round which will also miss. It can be useful if you miss your first round and get on target in time to hit with the rest of the burst but the rounds fly so quickly that you generally either miss or hit all 3 rounds. Perfect Balance is, obviously, amazing. That's what makes Timepiece worth using; it can obtain maximum Stability. However, for those that cannot obtain this great weapon, there is a Rare weapon that has virtually identical stats with some lucky perks! http://www.destinydb.com/items/1405547125-suros-jps-55#1.MTyHMd8 I've gotten at least a half a dozen of these. Mostly trashed them as I am not a Pulse Rifle player. In terms of base stats, the Impact, RoF, Range and Magazine Size are identical to Praedyth's Timepiece. The only way it is inferior in the Crucible is its slightly slower reload speed (not really noticeable) and the lower base Stability, which is 6 points lower out of 100. A third of these you obtain will have Fitted Stock, which will bring the Stability to 83% compared to Timepiece's 99% after Perfect Balance. That's the only difference in PvP between using the blue Suros and purple Timepiece. 16% Stability. Sights add Stability and you cannot go beyond 100%, meaning it's easy to find a Suros JPS with as high as 89% Stability to Timepiece's 100%. It's theoretically possible to find it with Counterbalance/Fitted Stock, which will max the Stability, making the weapons virtually identical, the only difference being that Timepiece fires 4 rounds if you miss, which can sometimes even be a drawback in skilled hands. Headseeker will virtually never, ever activate in PvP and when it does activate, it generally activates on one round only, leaving your bursts to kill the exact same as before. JPS 55 is much more obtainable and will often have virtually identical performance if the perks are right. If you don't get lucky, chances are you'll only be able to get Fitted Stock and a decent sight, which will give it slightly higher recoil than Timepiece, so don't get me wrong, Timepiece IS better than it, but for players with horrible luck, it is a great alternative. EDIT: Also, for players that hate having to pull the trigger for every burst, you can get Red Dot ORS1/Full Auto/Fitted Stock Suros JPS. 11% less Stability than Timepiece but Full Auto for the lazy.

Anyone who asks what is a solid pulse rifle... this would easily be the best one in the game!

1 ReplySweetness. Great teamwork and good gear usually results in a good outcome.

1 ReplyWell from the idea of a 3 round burst, headshot friendly, mid range rifle standpoint: yes it does resemble a BR. From a realistic, factual standpoint : no it does not. The fire rate is way to quick to be matched with a BR, along with buffs and additions, it doesn't resemble a BR whatsoever.

1 ReplyI was abusing Red Death before I took a liking to the VoC. VoC really shines in the lack of damage drop at range, might be the best all around PvP gun IMO and it is a no brainer that it is great in the raid. Red Death is amazing but it is hard to use in a true solo session, it is best used when people are not shooting back at you, outstanding supportive fire weapon, you can hit one burst and a lot of the time someone will kill steal you, but oh well, it will make enemies stunned at how fast they got dropped. I am going to be leveling up Thorn for the DoT next and I'll see how that is in PvP.

3 RepliesRed Death is the most under rated pvp gun in the game due to it having such limited range. But seriously mid range 2 burts to the head and you heal up? nothing better for people who hate having to wait to recover. Still I want this or the fate bringer for the arch damage primary
-
2 RepliesWe gotta nerf it...It seems like Vex MythoOP once again... Jk...I'll counter it with my uncommon pulse rifle;p

1 Replyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF-CizrA17c&list=UUsJOKOzVA_ccTJNFGtqrXmQ For anybody curious of the Red Death. this is a similar video of the one posted to this thread but for the red death instead!

17 Repliesi want this gun

3 RepliesThese videos make it hard to judge a weapon because they typically show one match and some of the people you're playing here look horrendous(they're just trying to sprint through bullets rather than turning to shoot). It's a shame a video like this lead to the entire community thinking the Vex was some godly, untouchable weapon. This looks like a fun gun to use and I'm a bit upset I haven't seen this or Fatebringer drop in the many times I've run the raid, really want that arc damage primary. Still have 2 characters to run through everything up to Atheon this week so fingers crossed.

3 RepliesHey Stryker, I would love to raid with you sometime! Only done it once but the time I did it my team cleared it in just over an hour. It's hard to get enough of my friends on at one time to raid so I'm constantly looking for new people to raid with. Not quite interested in destinylfg (or whatever)...
-
1 ReplyI can't watch the vid now but can someone tell me if he's trolling or not because I frikin love battle rifles! Please tell me he's not trolling I would love a gun like that in destiny
-
4 RepliesMeh, Im not about to give up fair and square (two burst with headshots) up for this.
-
1 ReplyI want to play on that map omfg. Have not played on it yet.
-
3 RepliesI keep getting this weapon. On the gatekeeper part one time I got 2 at the same time. Im slowly ranking it up finally but I still like Atheon's Epilogue and Vision of Confluence better.
-
11 RepliesWow look at that zero recoil
-
2 Repliesits a cool pulse rifle but there are so many others that look just like it not even close to the BR gr8 B8 M8
-
1 ReplyThat looks like so much fun to use.
-
7 RepliesNah a team would get -blam!- using that tbh

Keep the thread going guys!!!!!

9 RepliesIt needs to be nerfed
