"No internet connection detected" / "Can't connect to destiny servers"

Every time I try to play, I receive one of these error messages. I usually have to restart my Xbox and/or router at least ten times before the game will let me sign in. "No internet connection" is absurd because my friends list is active and Netflix works just fine. Why are you doing this to me Bungie? It's been this way since day 1 with no improvement whatsoever. Incredibly frustrating.

  • Hi Cal3b94, We definitely want to get you online. You mention being able to get online after restarting your Xbox and/or router several times. Players have had success identifying potential error causes by following the steps here: http://www.bungie.net/7_WHAT-IS-THE-CAUSE-OF-MY-DESTINY-CONNECTION-PROBLEM/en/Help/Article/12147 The steps there will have you plug directly into the modem, bypassing the router entirely. Do the errors become less frequent? If so, this may point to a router configuration you can update.

    • I just upgraded to PS4 Pro and keep getting this message for Destiny. But internet works for all other features. I have to unplug unit to play destiny. So annoying.

    • I have not had this problem at all until this expansion. Was playing fine up until prep to release Wrath of the Machine. . .

      • So I've been trying to get on Destiny for the past week. Sometimes it lets me on but most it tells me canary at the startup screen. I've done everything that canary error code tells me to do I even plugged it into the modem. It still doesn't work. I've also tried to uninstall destiny and reinstall it. Still only works for a little bit. Please fix this issue. It is very Annoying.

      • I have the exact problems it's really annoying as I can't enjoy playing my game :/ I tried doing what it said 'canary' but there is no difference.

      • All you have to do is plug it straight into the wall. This fixed all my issues.

        • its outrageous i get kicked 3 times with centipede in the last 15 min then i go to sign back in and i get vulture saying that my account ahs been changed and now after that im finally in but cant do anything because party wont stabilaze so bungie what are you doing to fix this cause right now your game is unplayable better yet how do i go about getting a refund

          • I have not had much trouble until this evening and I am getting "Destiny servers are not available". I'm signed into PSN and am downloading Warframe just fine. Sometimes it does connect to Destiny, but then it tells me I'm not PS Plus and I can't do a strike. This is incorrect, my PS Plus is functioning fine, per PSN.

          • Yea, I've had the same problem, but not as often. It seems for me that every time I have trouble logging in, I have to wait 30 min then I am usually able to log in. I've tested this theory for me 5 times by trying to log in every min and every time after 30 min I was able to log in. I don't know what this means.

          • Went to sleep getting the "cattle" or no internet connection error prior to player selection... Woke up to the same error. What's going on. I know perfectly well my connection is SOLID since I can do whatever I want whenever I want EXCEPT play Destiny. Was working fine with only a few drop outs... maybe 1 ever couple of days. NOW for 2 days... CAN NOT connect at all. FIX THIS.

          • Same issues as a few posting in this thread XBOX One platform. I'm sitting here at login screen and it never connects OR times out. It just sits there with the symbol in the lower right hand corner "TRYING" to connect but nothing. I've rebooted and done everything I can to get this to authenticate / resolve the connection. Is this because of the DDOS attacks? We got booted off around 8pm PST last night in the Vault of Glass. I've seen some people back on twitch streaming game play from within Destiny so it seems as if this problem is resolved for some people and not others? It does not seem as if my account is logged out with it just sitting here spinning up and trying to connect with that symbol in the lower right hand corner. Frustrated to say the least.

              I can't play at all. When I click my character it says lost connection to Destiny servers. Your permissions to access online multiplayer gameplay may have changed or your profile may have been signed in elsewhere. My connection is fine and no-one else has signed into my account.

              • Its because of a group of people "lizard squad" or something, they are ddosing destiny and cod ghosts. They have done it a couple times before and they were doing it to other games in the past as well.

              • yeah i have been getting the exact same problems! Every game i play its lagging and then eventually kicks me from the game, but my internet is just fine.
