I'm Tremendously Disappointed
To Sony fans: we're not being "whiny," and we're not asking for the same special treatment you guys are getting. We just want to be treated equally. We know what "timed content" is, and time will pass. We're just upset because [i]Destiny[/i], a multiconsole game, is being advertised exclusively on the PlayStation 4. I wouldn't be surprised if half of you didn't know it's going to be an XBox game, too.
To Microsoft fans: I understand your concern about Bungie giving us the cold shoulder. I have the exact same issues with what's going on. But behaving like enraged children isn't going to help our case in the slightest, and you know it. If you want to be taken seriously, present your concerns in a calm and reasonable matter.
To Bungie: You say you love us all equally, but what have you done to show it? When have you given us the slightest inkling that [i]Destiny[/i] on the XBox is anything but a courtesy? You've been well-known for loving and listening to your fans, but now you're catering to one community in particular. And it's taking it's toll. I, personally, am clinging to one final straw: the game itself. You've been acting as Antivision's -blam!-pony since you first signed a contract with them, and you've become something entirely different from the company I used to love so much. However, if the game doesn't justify your abhorrent behavior these past couple years, I'll seperate myself from the Seventh Column for good.
And now comes the flame. From PS gamers who don't like XBox folks having opinions, possibly from a handful of XBox owners thinking I'm overreacting, and most definitely a combination of the two. But screw it, I've had my rant.

Xbox players complaining about ignorance, then PS players whining about xbox players whining about exclusive content even though clearly the content wasn't being whined about in OP. Then you have the xbox players saying stupid comebacks to the PS players who say stupid comebacks back. Maybe we all could stop whining because whining causes more whiners to whine cause the console war on a forum which isn't about the consoles.

1 ReplyI don't care about the exclusive content at all, it's just that I was a huge bungie and currently huge halo fan, the only thing that bugs me is that I've been a loyal fan of bungies for years and now they're pretty much ignoring the Xbox fanbase, they have never at all mentioned Xbox at any of the recent showings, I don't care that it's on playstation at all, just kinda wish bungie would notice their old fan base a little more

The way they lash out at PS4 owners and Bungie is unsettling! But, I want you to know we're not all like that. So, here is my message. I want to welcome you to a company that has brought me more joy than I can ever portray with words. I want to welcome you on behalf of every little punk who's face I have stomped in to a mud hole on multiplayer time and time again. Halo series wasn't even for ps players, cod series [u][b]MONTH[/b][/u] early dlc since dlcs came out. Now that ps players get a small taste of what you guys have been eating for all these years you get mad? What since comes from that? And not to mention we are getting small things and most of it is only [u][b]TIMED[/b][/u] exclusives.. Now sit down xbox players.. It's time to chill on this subject.

I've owned xboxes, MSX2 before xbox even existed, Ive owned every playstation, bunch of sega consoles and nintendo...and too many PCs. Why do console owners especially xbox users so tunnel vision about sticking to one brand or as if you can only choose one for life. Such a strange mentality and concept to me. I am a person and sometimes I play with my dog, sometimes I play with my 3ds sometimes my PC and sometimes my PS4.. if there was something I really wanted on another device Id buy it or save up and buy it if I didnt have the cash. Anyone who has that kind of emotional investment in a device needs to go detox from technology for a couple months and get their head on straight. This isn't cortana its a box sitting near a screen that you insert creator's content into to enjoy...

Watch_Dogs was advertised the same way for PS4. Call of Duty usually is for Xbox--and in fact Advanced Warfare is getting the timed exclusive stuff too, despite the PS4 being named the default CoD console. EA inexplicably sent Titanfall to Xbox and to PC, ignoring PlayStation completely. This isn't anything new. You'll be playing the very same game on the Xbox that PS4 gamers will, minus whatever PS4-exclusive stuff there will be until a later date. Such is the deal that Bungie and Sony came up with. Evolve is doing the same. AC Unity is doing the same (I've already seen an Xbox-branded commercial for ACU). It's REALLY not that big an issue. It's a smart business move for Sony; Destiny is likely to move consoles for the PlayStation brand. That doesn't mean Xbox gamers will play a Destiny any better or worse than PS4 gamers will. In fact, Bungie held back on the PS4 to make sure the two would offer similar qualities and experiences. Bungie wants to honor its deal with PlayStation, but its behavior has shown that it DOES care about other gamers, and not that it is giving them the cold shoulder. Its behavior is not "abhorrent." If it wanted to give them the cold shoulder, it would have just ripped every bit of potential out of the PS4 without any concern for how it would perform on other consoles. Meanwhile, Insomniac, a third-party independent developer that previously made games only for PlayStation consoles, is making Sunset Overdrive exclusively for Xbox One--not even a multi-platformer with timed exclusive DLC, but a full-on exclusive. They're not abhorrent for doing that. Welcome to business. You have nothing to worry about. You have nothing to complain about. Sorry you're unhappy that daddy's paying more attention to your brother than you at the moment, but that doesn't mean he loves you any less. This is just how things are going to be now. The two consoles are similar and AAA games take forever to make, so it's going to come down to a competition between which console can offer the better experiences in exclusives and in multi-platform games. This isn't the first time we have seen campaigns like this, and it certainly won't be the last. That said, I appreciate your calm, collected attitude. I'm tired of Internet fanboys.

Bungie has to kiss sony's ass for 10 years of being an Xbox exclusive, I am an Xbox gamer and I don't like it, but it makes sense, it's business. I'll wait till the second game to see about complaining.

OH yeah, I get to play the 'beta' cause I pre-ordered a YEAR ago and SPENT THE LAST WEEK WATCHING the WHOLE THING on TWITCH fkn great the beta should be fun…
