Hip Fire vs. Aim Down Sights
What will you use more of? I'm used to being a Halo player and less of a CoD player so I will be using Hip Fire the most but I will occasionally use ADS. For me, it is easier to navigate using Hip Fire so I will stick to that and kill all of you guys in PvP.
This game will establish who is more skillful, CoD players or Halo players because the game is after all a good taste of both sides.

It depend, though. For all the weapons in halo, aiming down your sights was kind of inconvenient because you had to click down the stick instead of simply holding down a trigger, and for all the automatic weapons, you instantly went back the second you shot. From what we've seen in the gameplay, though, the ADS looks similar to CoD's.

3 RepliesYour only problem is this game is maid for ADS. Your bullets are gonna go everywhere because of it. Not meaning to insult you it will just be good practice to aim when shooting. Shotguns and lungs of course are an exception. Because who needs to aim for those two?

I almost alway aim down the sights when given the opportunity. It's something I learned from Battlefield.

Overall, CoD is kinda cruddy because it has terrible hit box and it is sooooooooo laggy!

I will probably choose my 3 weapons based off of 2 that can zoom (1 medium, 1 long range) and 1 that doesn't require ADS. Something along the lines of an marksman rifle/hand cannon, a sniper, and a LMG will probably be my loadout for PvE flexibility. In PvP, depending on how fast a guardian can switch weapons, I'd probably try to go with medium ranged automatic weapon (non ADS) and marksman weapon (ADS) for maximum flexibility. Edit. CoD vs Halo play style has nothing to do with seeing who is better. The only thing ADS vs non-ADS will prove is who is smart enough to aim down the sites when it is to their advantage and to hip fire for greater mobility when it isnt to their advantage. I.e. if you have a sniper rifle, and you're not a complete idiot, you're probably going to want to ADS when opponents are at range and hip fire when they get you within their range. On a side not this brings up a point of contention for me where CoD makes it so effectively every weapon is a marksman weapon when ADS. Hopefully Bungie balances this because, IMO, an SMG with ADS shouldn't be able to hit and/or beat a sniper at range. I personally think its ridiculous that in COD, in my experience, to line up a good shot with a sniper you have to zoom, hold your breath (for a limited time), completely lose your HUD, and follow the target, but with any other weapon just has to hold L while pressing R. Especially when a majority of the maps are so claustrophobic that there ends up being very few good sniping spots to begin with.

I generally aim down sights. Unless I get startled, then I hip fire.

Your point here was what? You THINK you can own people, WRONG! Who cares if you use hip or sights. There will be plenty of chances to use both.

Personally, I will be using ADS. It seems more natural to me. However, your last sentence and completely and utter bullshit and shouldn't even be included in this discussion. This is about Destiny and personal preference. Its not about Halo and CoD and they shouldn't even be mentioned.

Hip fire for.up close/midrange. ADS for mid-long range

Hippity-hip-hippy. ADS will probably slow me down too much, not to mention reduce my peripheral vision.

2 RepliesI'm sorry Mr. Reload but hip firing is, in my opinion inferior to aiming down sights. I'm basing this on real experiences. When hip firing, you have less control on your weapon, thus diminishing your accuracy. Aiming down sights gives you greater accuracy. I will give you this that hip firing gives you a wider field of vision but while hip firing, most of your rounds miss your target anyway. Better to be accurate.

Depends on the weapons and reticle. Shotgun with big reticle. Mostly charge in hip blasting ppl. But long range. Foolish not to aim down sights. For lobbing nades with my noob tube. Thats from hip. O and smg up close. Dump a clip into someone.

Sights. I only hip fire when I run around a corner straight into an enemy and have a spaz attack.

The bloom while hip firing in Destiny appears to be pretty substantial. You may find that ADS is required to make accurate shots in quick succession.

Hip Fire is garbage and games need to have severly diminished accuracy when doing it. Also the targeting crosshairs need to be removed from hip fire in FPS games. You should only have crosshairs when aiming down the sights of your gun.
