Trials hint for pve mains
Play as a team stop sight seeing. Just like in raids and contest mode play your life , don’t run it gun blazing. Even good players push in twos stay close and only go for picks solo when you have an advantage. Also for the love of god use your radar!

2 RepliesTbh you could be the worst player in the game, but if you just stick with your team or figure out who's the best on your team and follow them and try to team shot and bait yourself, you'll increase your chances of winning by an insane amount.

Do not keep pushing out solo getting gang banged by the other team. If this happens don’t do it again! Stick with at least one of your team mates at least if he drops there is a chance you can revive him!! Nothing worse than a blueberry sitting on an orb not knowing how to revive.

7 RepliesLet’s clear the air first. I suck at trials. Ok, for you slower elites read that again. Now. This is what I see. Match starts, my two teammates run hellbent like moths to a flame towards the center. Usually within 10-20 seconds they are both dead. Wtf am I supposed to do with that? How is that my fault? If I had run with them I’d be dead too. In almost all my losses I am the last to die. In those instances I see them doing this and winning, then next round I follow. But for the most part it’s just “duh, pretty light, let’s run towards it” Why people can’t play strategy or try to flank people is just mind boggling. I thoroughly enjoy when the opponents are distracted and I have time to come in behind or from the side. Now what happens in Trials is typically 3 lesser players get teamed up and so even the guy trying looks worse than he actually is. Again, why can’t they just balance the teams out????

12 RepliesCheck my Titan.. I tried every which way to play & got thoroughly stomped for hours.. My advice to PvE players? Stick with PvE 🥴 Getting stomped is the single most miserable experience in this game & it seems with lower player numbers, the ppl in Crucible are the most dedicated. It's like 11 five year olds taking on Juventus.. there's only way it's gonna play out.. Huge, unwavering defeat ☠️

My advice to fellow casual PVP players is: Trials plays differently. Even if you feel like the king of the hill in control you will not be in Trials. Don’t go kamakazee thinking you can break from you team and finess your oponents 1 v3. You will die. If control is bumber cars fun Trials is chess. Slow and steady just might win the race. - Stay with your team or atleast one other team member. -Team shooting is a thing. - Try and stay alive at all cost. If you are low health dip out and heal instead of risk dying. One dead on your team will put alot of presssure on the two alive. Getting some damage on the oponent and then dipping out is better then trying to win the gun fight at all cost and dying. Your team mates might be able to finish them of. Even if you are the the least skilled on your team staying alive and being able to res your better team mates can make a huge difference. Anyways. This is what i have learned by watching how better players on my team play. Maybe im wrong, i dunno? Changing to this tactic actually got me a 5 win streak on my card this week ( then it went downhill like hell in a handbasket) But as a casual thats pretty decent i think.

15 RepliesAlternatively, just don't play Trials if you're a PvE main. The guns won't make or break your builds, and most likely they aren't worth your frustration. You don't [i]need[/i] to jump into Trials, so if it's really pissing you off? Do something else. Enjoy yourself.

When I play like a smart team player (as often as I can), I picture myself as a toddler asking questions. "Like this? So I follow you and go bang bang? Chill here for a moment then get the jump on them when they make a wrong move?". It may seem as easy as you put it on paper. But it goes deeper than that. You also have to be good at assessing situations and make proper decisions. Knowing when to hang back and when to be aggressive. Something I'm not good at. Even more negative points for me as I also suck at gunfights. Hell, even if I did exactly as a fireteam leader told me to do I'd still lose because I can't win a gunfight to save my life even with assistance from others. If guy said ok perfect time to teamshot this a guy he's alone, somebody nobody saw would come outta nowhere and kill us. This is just how my online pvp game experiences go and no amount of advice can help me. Therefor when I do pvp games I don't play competitive modes and stick to the casual / unranked modes.

2 RepliesVery good tips, and guide to playing top end pvp. But tbh, last time I played competitive pvp to get bis weapons was to grind (legitimately) mountaintop and recluse. Nothing since will tempt me into trials, plenty of other just as good weapons available imo

Hint 1: it's a video game no need to be so serious Hint 2: if you don't like matchmaking use LFG Hint 3: no one is required to play to anyone else's standard's Hint 4: PVP is a side mode in the greater game of destiny not an e-sport and is treated as such by most players and the devs

6 RepliesEdited by Kiro - 13: 3/1/2025 3:52:14 PMStart running toward points of interest and advantageous positioning right away. A game can be determined right at the start because of this. An example would be in control. Capping the spawn or start node is practically pointless while taking B(or the neutral zone/point) first can set the pace for the match. Same for trials, playing for better positioning out of the gate can set the tone for the entire match.

1 ReplyI’m running in with navigator and grapple nades. I’m using sunset sidearms with swashbuckler and the old full auto perk. I’m using eager edge swords around corners to jumpscare people. I’m shooting walls and I’m using class abilities when the gunfight is on the other side of the map. Miss me with this “winning the match” -blam!-. Miss me with this “accuracy” -blam!-. Im always successful. My accuracy is 100%. Y’all just don’t know what my objective is. Y’all just don’t know what I’m aiming at.
