They are excited and animated when it comes to talking about Hunters, and Warlock and their Supers, Skills, and even their Exotics...
Then they get to Titans... total bore fest. Literal confusion as to what they are describing.

I’m looking forward to the 3rd Darkness subclass where we get to harness the power of SIVA to empower Titans with a brand new punching roaming super. I like Striker and all, but what if it was Red?
-
2 RepliesIts pretty hilarious to me that titans are punch everything class but the best class at punching everything is arc hunter with liars handshake or the safer/less potent assassins cowl.
-
1 ReplyAnd oh boy do we have something special for you Titan players out there, you get a green melee roaming super to add to your already existing void, arc and stasis melee roaming supers. No I promise this will be fun and different.
-
"Titans super has this melee attack that you can kinda combo indefinitely" 😴😴
-
If they did a stasis 2.0 and had stasis Titan super where he throws ice spears that form duskfield grenades that would be cool. Or if it was going for a more defensive/supportive super, it would basically be a massive bubble that’s a duskfield with more crystals, where everything is slowed or frozen inside it, everyone gets damage resistance next to crystals and you could shoot out of it, with the Titan having to hold down triggers to maintain said super duskfield and able to release them to cause all crystals to shatter/expend the super duskfield.

6 RepliesEdited by SirEman80: 2/17/2023 9:19:14 PMPosted this on another thread about this topic… maybe it’ll make sense here too. The issue with Titans subclasses identity has never been a ‘power’ issue… it’s a creative issue. Bungie has not done a good job creating archetypal fantasies for Titans in the same way they have for Hunters and Warlocks. They’ve done this most clearly on Hunters which I think contributes to their enduring popularity. They are clearly archetypical Rogues or agility based characters… Solar- Outlaw Void -Assassin Arc - Monk Stasis - Ninja Strand - Acrobat? They’ve done a decent job with Warlocks being classical mage/knowledge based archetype. Solar - White/Red Mage Void - Black Mage/Necromancer Arc - Green/Red Mage Stasis - Blue/Time Mage Strand - Summoner? They’ve done a poor job with Titans being classical Warrior/fighter archetypes. It’s really hard to come up with after Void. Void - Knight/Paladin Arc - Brawler? Solar - ??? Stasis - ??? Strand - Barbarian? This lack of clear archetypical characterization leads to the abilities feeling kind of mishmashed together and not having a clear theme. They also haven’t done a super great job giving Titans unique feeling abilities to make the kits feel like they play different. All the Hunter and Warlock melee abilities feel and work very differently. Titans have a flavor of shoulder charge that looks the same for the most part. 3.0 helped a little with things like Consecration but there is still no clear archetypical theme. Just my opinion though. I don’t see them changing anything anytime soon but the best thing they could do is give more thoughtful consideration to the way Titans interact in that ‘melee/close range’ playspace.

1 ReplyGood lord you titan mains are starting to take over the warlocks for the most desperate for a pitty party. You chose the "why gun when fist do job" class why on earth are you even in the slightest bit surprised at how your classes are being built?? Go play the other two for a while if you're getting over it that's fair enough but the constant complaining about the melee class being melee based is just plain stupid when you have two other options to play when you get bored of being melee based

3 RepliesIf “Berserker” has an insane damage resist while moving like it does already, I’d be fine with it. Doesn’t look like there’s anything really going for it. So if they made him just really tanky, it’d fit the name.
-
2 RepliesFrom a stylish point of view, Hunters defintely won with Strand. They look really cool with the dart rope and also the melee Attack is definetely unique.

Edited by ULiano_III: 2/17/2023 12:09:06 PMAdditionally... Lets all call this one now.. Warlocks super will be 10 minutes cool down and be the first to get nerfed. You throw out projectiles that kill on impact, then explodes after that, and sends out Minions that can Kill on impact or Hold players in place... cmon.. you know PVPers are going to cry like crazy while they have have this massive AoE swing, Long reach light attack that probably kills on hit and fly thru the skys. h and then there is the Rift that shoots out like 6 Minions that hold players.. Control is going to be nuts with those.. neref after a month to 2 Minions.

1 ReplyAll I saw was the Hunter and Warlock being hyped up for their gimmicks will likely prove to be underwhelming in practice vs the Titan tried-and-true design that we know functions.
-
Hunters have a rope dagger that’s non stop attacks and fluent and NEVER SEEN BEFORE in destiny!!! Warlocks create three points of power that shoot out “pssshhhuuupuuuuch”, exploding enemies and creating threadlings!!! Titans… berserker… got melee attacks and a heavy attack…

9 RepliesEdited by parallelish: 2/16/2023 10:27:19 PMthey weren't really that excited for any of it. they seemed just as enthused when talking about berserker as they were with the others, you were just viewing it from a heavily biased position i'm assuming. i feel like if they got extra excited talking about berserker you would say that they were overcompensating because they know it isn't that unique or interesting. edit: most people are complaining that berserker is another roaming super and that titans need another 1-n-done, but if that were the case these same people would complain that it is just thundercrash or nova bomb but green. I even saw someone say they'd like it to throw three lage stand spears "LIKE MOEBIUS QUIVER" then people would just complain it's a moebius quiver reskin. i agree that something more unique could have been thought up and developed (I had my own idea) but it seems like a lot of people here don't even really know what it is they want.

I was bummed when they showed the Titans heavy attack. The Article said it would get charged thru Light atacks and they you throw out Projectiles.. is it me or were we all expecting the titan to do this cool Step forward and hurls the two Blades like a boss into a Single target for massive damage..? No guess not.. Its just the Barrier Wave. Also, where is the spin attack they showed at the reveal????
-
And then they end up giving them OP abilities like excessive movement and over shields by just dropping a shield. And if it's not an ability, then it will be some sort of exotic that will comfort all the casual dad gamers out there.
-
Tbh Hunter and Strandlock supers look awesome, Titan berserker I am still sceptical. Short range ad clear for sure strong, boss fights I assume insta death. Does anyone expect a Strand Titan defeating a Tormentor with its abilities? Seen the Vidoq how Tormentors grab and defeat us a mellee based cqc super for sure is the best way to take them down... no way.
-
Eh screw 'em. Titans will improvise as we always do. There was a time where we only had Striker and Defender and we still cracked skulls.
-
Burning maul is the ONLY Titan roaming super that doesn’t re-use the classes shoulder charge/melee animations in any of its attacks, Sentinel uses it for the heavy attack, and all the others reuse the animation for the light
-
They weren’t enthusiastic period. I know I wasn’t

Edited by HellfireEclipse: 2/17/2023 3:29:14 AMNew maps and strikes? Psh no

I preordered 5 tanks of copium on hoping that strand titan will be really good in pve so I can switch it up from the normal titan builds

7 RepliesI remember that one guy way back on the D1 Kings Fall reveal of the, at the time, new Light Subclasses. He was so excited about the work he and his team had put it and it genuinely got me hyped for that DLC.
-
9 RepliesStrand will wind up like Stasis anyways, so I wouldn't let it bother you. I thought the most telling was when they mentioned they could have just done what players actually wanted and thought would be cool -- poison -- but then thought nah we are Bungie lets do the opposite of what everyone would want. Their ego shines brighter than any of their work.
-
1 ReplyThere are no Titan mains that work on subclasses at Bungie and it clearly shows. They just went through the motions and read a script they probably stayed up all night to make. They all huddled up last night and was like we all know Titan strand is shi.. but we gotta make something up to try and sell this to Titan mains.

I played Warcraft and World of Warcraft for years.... what they have produced with solar 3.0 is bang on the money for a true Titan tank... the whole point of the class...and that's just a couple of the builds you can achieve Endless moaning about something you havnt even played yet
