I play my fair share of crucible. I have before and after SBMM. Honestly I don't really care if we have that or not. What DOES -blam!- up any chance of me having fun with crucible is the penalty for leaving a match. Im a solo player for the most part and I have never felt punished for trying to play a game before. Granted it doesn't happen super often, but There is nothing that prevents me from queueing into a match against a stack of coordinated players. It does NOT feel good to play against 6 people all running the same meta stuff and with the same clan tag. Its a shout-out. And trying to force me to stay in that lobby is actual cruelty. You want me to smash my head against a solid steel wall and expect the wall to break if I try hard enough. That's not how that works. I suggest a fix as simple as freelance or just make stacks queue against other stacks. We have the player count for it.
Further edit for those who can't bother to read comments.
1. I do not leave matches early very often at all. And I'm never really the first to leave anyway. Usually when it turns into a 3v6 or 2v6. Maybe once every few days when a match is just that bad which is statistically way less than most. in which case I take a break from said playlist until I am feeling up to it again.
2. I'm not here for the K/D boost. I don't care about my K/D. I reset my rank in iron banner twice and nuked my numbers in the process and it does not bother me.
3. I don't have a problem with the penalty itself. I get that having leavers sucks. I just want stack prevention when I'm playing solo. At the least garuntee me a 5 stack on my team against a 6, or make freelance if we are keeping the penalty.

6 RepliesEdited by Hatter: 9/20/2022 4:50:47 PMI mean... Don't leave then. I get it, sometimes going it's a really really good six stack is absolutely annoying. And in special cases, you can in fact leave. But you will suffer a little penalty for it. It's just a small thing, but I think it's a necessary evil for those people who are leaving every single match just because they could not protect their precious KD. You don't match against a six stack often.
-
1 ReplyYou do know that you can watch the Roster tab while waiting in the queue to see if a 6 stack joins up, and back out before the match starts right?
-
2 RepliesNah, aim assist and twitch killed pvp

Dog -blam!- matchmaking

Leaving matches ruin pvp

And I'm never really the first to leave anyway. Usually when it turns into a 3v6 or 2v6.
I would think you would be for the quitter penalty if you’re leaving bc your teammates already quit 🤷♂️ Yes, quitter penalties suck. I deleted Halo bc of it, bc as a solo player, I would be the only one on my team that would go positive match after match, until I just started quitting bc I was sick of having terrible teammates. But that was in ranked But, Bungie said they will be adjusting matchmaking to attempt to match according to team size next season I believe, so that is a positive Maybe Bungie was premature in implementing the quitter ban, but it had to be done. Too many players were quitting casual matches, which is ridiculous. Also, bc quitting matches didn’t count your stats, another Bungie flaw in logic, so people would quit when they were having a bad game so their stats wouldn’t go down, which is just sad tbh
-
1 ReplySince you’re not the first to leave, leaving penalties may actually help you ensure you never have to leave.
-
Games are more enjoyable when you don't join a game late and you have a full team
-
1 ReplyStacked teams should NEVER get to play against solo players. The fact that people at Bungie don't see it as a problem, shows how detached from reality and sanity they are.
-
1 ReplyThe quit penalty is the latest in a line of decisions by Bungie that simply alienate players, the reasons people quit are all usually based around, bad matchmaking, bad connection, poor team balancing, and the unwillingness to offer a freelance control option. Rather than fix these issues they decided to penalise players when one, two or all of these issues raise their head, and you decide its not play that match. Bungie are the apple of gaming for me, they sell you a product, believe they are right in all the decisions they make about the product and do not allow you to play the game you have purchased the way you wish to play it. I have played COD for years I never once was banned or penalised for quitting a match, particularly seeing as it’s not even a competitive mode, its supposed to be casual. Evidently that is not how bungie see it. This decision will drive more and more people out of PVP until the player base is low again, you reap what you sow, they have made a rod for their back by putting this in place. Back down now and it proves you are wrong, don’t and your PVP mode will slowly but inevitably dwindle and what then Bungie?

It’s was short and sweet ,but control is now back how it was last season . Mercy games galore and lots of people quitting . The same broken weapons running rampant in control . It’s destiny soon surprises 😂
-
14 RepliesI still leave and just go to a different game when I get the penalty for leaving.
-
7 RepliesDoesn't matter you leave match a few times The fact you leave matches is the issue YOU leaving make someone else join a losing match in progress because you got mad Only excuses you have to leave is an emergency and a 30 minute ban wouldn't be an issue if it was the case Honestly more quitter penalty is needed
-
3 RepliesOne of the reasons I don’t care to play control. On top of sbmm, no map voting, and no incentive to win or do well, I’m good lol.
-
2 RepliesCant even play PVP anymore because the game punishes me after it repeatedly kicks me for "bad connection". Never happens in PVE tho
-
1 ReplyI have 40% win rate as bungie has that stupid win loss ratio that only effects solo players like myself. I had a match and I had 9 different team mates, I wouldn’t mind but it was dead cliffs which is not a bad map at all. I see a couple of players with the flawless emblem and in qp they are like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a speeding car. They can’t get used to the fast paced nature of qp with players of equal skill. Next season we will have teams vs teams implemented so just stick it out. Pvp has never been harder but also so much fun ✌️
-
I dont do pvp but if i did i would jump of a cliff or emote my way though thee match not that i care about kd or whatever
-
2 RepliesWe can fix it by having freelance. But then all the 6 stacks wouldn't have anyone to stomp and would complain.
-
4 RepliesGo ahead and add to the problem. They go in 6-stacks to pad stats and you just crippled 5 other players into falling into that harder. They did good adding the quitter penalty. They will probably remove it once people stop leaving matches. Stop being the problem. I haven’t complained because I don’t care if I go negative. Learn and adapt. You don’t have to sweat to learn.
-
Agreed they need a freelance mode should have been put in before the quitter penalty but the quitting penalty should be there too
-
Nope, selfish little children ruin any game mode by quitting. It’s such a problem Bungie had to step in and hand out some form of punishment. Good for them.
-
2 RepliesTo put a penalty instead of just adding freelance is honestly baffling. Freelance for every mode + clash at all times fixes pvp quite a bit.
I suggest a fix as simple as freelance or just make stacks queue against other stacks.
You could've just said this instead of bringing up quitter penalties.
