Friend and I are having problems with grasp/avarice and shattered throne. Both are at the 1545+ gear, but the bosses are way hard…are they more 3 player stuff, not the right gear, or get good ?
Thanks

3 makes it easier for sure but they've been solo'd by many people. just head over to youtube and watch a couple runs. the good one's will even go over load outs and strats. good luck.

it's mostly mods I think, you won't have ammo finders, reserves or charged with light/well mods, me and my brother 2 manned all the dungeons, doubt we would have been able to without the mods, doesn't seem like they help but an extra ammo brick or fast ability Regen can make all the difference, there is a minor skill factor but mods are more important

Thanks all. 16 years of wow, elder scrolls, fallout, Skyrim etc etc…but destiny is very diff. Not sure of my stats etc…my friend t1m3erw01f9 (hate his name…too much to copy!) is a lot better and is helping my to not be a carry :)

40 RepliesEdited by Lord Araphel: 3/15/2022 8:58:47 AMThe issue is mods not being accessible immediately. Newlights don't have the mods necessary to play beyond early leveling and I don't know why they can't just make a mod shop and give them all at once. I don't care if blueberries have mods I grinded for let them not go through the stupidity I had to. Sorry for your headache but thats why power level ain't the issue its lack of mods. I can help if need be the dungeon ain't hard just the new power ceiling makes them stronger.

What exactly about them is giving you trouble? Are you struggling to get to damage, struggling to stay alive, struggling to do much damage? Also, ignore Ignatius below. You don't need mods for anything in the game.
-
They can be soloed, but the bosses are way more boring than hard. Grasp of avarice especially, poses little challenge, it's just extremely tedious
-
To sum it all up! Start a game, it's says plain as day, Recommended LVL 1350 Then when you die it says Recommended LVL 1555 in my case. The logic has been totally forgotten! I wonder what type of weed they smoke at Bungo HQ

Strategy. Where to place yourself to not get shot. GoA is quite easy if you know where to go. Say the ogre boss, always be hiding from the ogres eye beam behind cover. When you enter a room to get burdens, rush one side(right) and move to the other side(left), and kill everything as fast as possible. For the ogre, void resist is very good, but onwards it arc resist(fallen). For the final boss, stay at the far back if you are having trouble, just keep an eye on ads to your left, who will be throwing arc grenades. I can help if you want, friend me and invite. Otherwise, good luck.

I can help you guys with it if you’d like

Practice and experiment with builds. Try watching a few guides on YouTube. Once you know what your doing they are pretty easy. GoA is probably the easiest of them all imo. But I wouldn’t really classify any of them as “hard”. They will just feel hard until you figure them out.
-
Spec your build and increase resilience if you’re having trouble with survivability. Also, a third person would be much easier. You can 2 man all that content if both of you have a good build and know the mechanics very well. A well lock and invis hunter with tether would be ideal if you’re running 2 man.
-
Once you learn the mechanics and how to set up a good PvE build you’ll be flying through this stuff in no time. I’m not too familiar with shattered throne honestly but grasp is my favorite.
-
Hey!! If you need help I am happy to help you learn the right loadouts, mechanics and approaches. Totally free. Just drop me a DM and we can talk / sort it out.

Dungeons are designed with 3 players in mind but with some effort and practice you and a friend should be able to push through. Watch a guide or two beforehand to grasp the basics, if all else fails you can always advertise in lfg groups/tools for a third.

2 RepliesShattered Throne Kinetic Bow Null Composure Sword Grasp Kinetic Sub Cartesian Sleeper Watch Esoterickk and Chablo videos. Win!

Back in the day, my friend and I used to 2 man shattered throne every week. Its more a matter of skill, learning patterns, and survival.
-
It’s a matter of learning and perfecting fight mechanics. They can both be soloed, but are also both easier with 3
-
Edited by Bieltan: 3/15/2022 11:28:38 PMMostly get good honestly. Practise, learn your safe spots, move fast! The first boss in Grasp does have a pretty chonky health bar too, and seeing as he's an Ogre he hits like a truck too :(

Me n my friend did it as a duo on day 1, I don’t mean that to flex I promise, we understand your struggles to a T. It’s a little difficult for 2 players as it was meant for 3. That being said, I’d look at some YouTuber videos for some specific builds, I usually watch Ehroar for that type of stuff although any build YouTuber will work. I’d also consider your load outs and if you guys want to do an LFG and find a player with or without comms, it’s your choice. I recommend using sleeper and a decent fusion or sniper. Primary is your choice
-
Should be able to 2 man it but it's built for 3. Build optimization will be key. I recommend the new void 3.0. Hunters especially are great when you're undermanned for getting out of pickles. Stasis is also your friend for crowd control. Ultimately it's going to come down to your load out choices over almost anything else.
-
I’d say 3 man is optimal, especially if you are new to the game.
-
1 ReplyNot necessarily “get good”, but you might have sub-optimal loadouts and/or just getting squashed by the encounter mechanics.
-
I can take you through grasp when I get home from work if you want. I’ll be on in a couple of hours
-
For the ogre I kill adds first then witches so more time on the ogre I dunk on the first right side so if he’s not dead first go it’s only a short walk to the right side pillars. I use a bow primary Telesto for witches Hothead (I haven’t got ghally) Nova bomb. Stick together for easy res.
