Seriously Bungie, get a fkking grip will ya.
There is NO chance for a casual player to be able to do mid level content and to have even a remotely chance to first of buy, and then upgrade exotic weapons and armor with all this material costs.
I have been grinding my A$$ off , several years, (I'm no sweatlord) but i have upgraded most of my exotic catalysts and got a tonne of armor, weapons and mods. And of course a lot of Exotics as well.
And as naive as many people are, thought, well FINALLY i can upgrade my heart of inmost light, (YEAH)
NOPE, sorry bud, you need to WASTE Three ascendant shards for that. So without using all the shards from the Season pass you need to continue grinding. 500 - 1000 hrs are not enough it seems!
I always end up in the ranges of a thousand of legendary shards, and when you then buy ten prisms, you back at 100 ,to start over.
Bungie are sure no friend of the casual player. Only the 1% of Youtube and Twitch!
The ones that can dunk all day and get drunk on the weekends and have other people pay for their pleasure!
Stop pretending that you "Care" about us!
Seriously Bungie, get a fkking grip, YOU ARE SLIPPING BIG-TIME!
From being the most avid gamer, promotor, ambassadeur for the Destiny franchise i have become to dislike your business model, not to say h@te your guts!

3 RepliesYou can get ascendant shards from hitting max rank with most, if not all the upgraded vendors with rank rewards. Another thing I do is put the greater core harvest mod on my ghost for whatever core playlist I like to play the most. That way over time I'm building up stacks of prisms to exchange for an ascendant shard. I also don't buy enhancement prisms in order to exchange them for ascendant shards it cost too much legendary shards.

7 RepliesEdited by itzJuztThomas: 3/17/2022 7:02:40 PMDude, we've just come off a 26 week season that had Lake and Servitor as GM's. All you play is PVE, even if you'd taken 25 weeks to crawl to the pinnacle cap Lake was the final GM of the season, playing 3 GM's a day for a week would have filled your inventory and postmaster. It's literally harder to fail Lake than it is to complete it. I hate it when other people say this but this is a you problem bro, plan your game time more efficiently, the rewards are there for the taking.

1 ReplyHomie did NOT find the resounding support he thought he would by posting this here. Just a bunch of people telling him that maybe he should try actually playing the game 😂
-
Just run higher tier nightfalls or collect at the vendor when you rank each vendor up. Plenty of LFG teams so no issues running activities.

2 RepliesDoes a casual player need a masterworked exotic? No.

4 RepliesIn ten years we all complain about loot not getting automaticly unlocked after login.

2 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 3/16/2022 7:09:15 PMUnfortunately they created a very unstaggered and uneven ecosystem. Players who do GMs have literally been SWIMMING in AS meanwhile those who either don't enjoy NFs - remembering these are only glorified Strikes not some premium content as they're spun to be - or -blam!- on doing the hardest available matchmade activities have little to none. It's far too steep a discrepancy. It's the same with droprates for NF weapons: 100% guaranteed droprates Adept versions Vs non-Adept barely dropping (probably around 10% for a single drop). It'll also be the same for the new Ascendant currency for upgrading enhanced perks. It barely drops for matchmaking - again probably ~10% yet for those with a few premade teams these too will be almost guaranteed. It's close to an everything (and then they complain as to wanting more rewards) or nothing ecosystem. The debates are typically myopic to this however because it isn't a problem for certain players therefore in their minds it isn't a fundamental problem - they genuinely can't see past their noses. And of course with ever increasing numbers of mods and a whole range of harder content as well as PvP you absolutely can well use those 10 little energy slots - don't be fooled by the 'yOu DoNt nE3d MoR3' - thinking is hard after all I guess. But this indeed is the problem of companies following, changing and and catering the game to an UNREPRESENTATIVE small group of Streamer-YouTubers.

Edited by DarkMoonWolf666: 3/16/2022 2:40:18 PMNo and here why Maxing a armor is end game and its not necessary for anything ...you can do fine with every armor at 7-8 You won't masterwork many exotic armor If you are a casual why need everything maxed? You are entitled and want what others have with minimal effort...the issue isn't with the game but with you and what you think you deserve when you don't really As you said yourself ...get a grip

1 ReplyDude, you can buy legit Ascendant Shards at Rahool now once per week if I remember right. It is easier than before. Stop asking for "hand outs". If you dislike grinding, don't play a game ABOUT grinding.

~ laughing so hard I’m crying ~ this post made my day! Thank you ! Omg thank you for your tasty tears!

1 ReplyI find it incredibly fitting that the person complaining about this is named "PVP SUX" Play endgame content and you will get endgame materials.

If you run the nightfall on legend or higher is a decent way to farm shards. Especially when GM drops next month. It’s almost a guaranteed drop. And yes it’s a bit difficult to farm at that level, it’s at least a reliable method. The whole point is that exotics are meant to take a lot of materials since they have op/gimmick perks. I do agree that it’s a bit much, should go to 2 shards instead of 3

Get to 7 wins in trials doesn't matter how many losses and they drop every other game. Play sunday/Monday when flawless pool is active
-
4 vendor drops and 4 battlepass drops each season. That’s one full upgraded gearset each season for free. You can switch cores into prisms into shards aswell. Pvp Players receive shards in trials. Once GM Nightfalls are released you can grind these for endless shards. Are these endgame activities? Yes. What is the only reason to have 6 more stats and a tenth modpower? Optimising for the hardest endgame activities. You 100% don’t need this for any low tier content.
-
I agree 100% PVP is trash they only cater to streamers with this game.
-
If you’re not able to masterwork it, you probably don’t need to.
-
3 RepliesMost of the replies are going to be dismissive "lol spam low tier nightfalls all season" or "lmao l2p" or "rofl quit masterworking exotics problem solved." I agree they make it too expensive and I play pretty much daily. It's tedious having to spam boring pve stuff just to have choices on what you want to wear and still get the boosted stats.
-
2 RepliesI am casual. Yet i have 70% of my exotic armors masterworked. Because since season 8 we got 3-4 of those golf balls per season pass. And GM and master NF gives them out a lot.
-
3 Repliesjust farm grandmaster, master dungeon, you don't need to masterwork

Edited by A1CBeers: 3/15/2022 2:12:03 PMI've masterworked every exotic armor piece for each character, and then several duplicates as a way to store more shards in the vault. You're clearly doing something wrong. Do GMs, use the ghost mods that give you enhancement prisms, etc., and you'll have more than you know what to do with. This is a silly complaint. Not to mention that fully masterworking gear is an ENDGAME goal, as well as the fact that you clearly mismanage your materials if you can barely maintain 1,000 legendary shards. I'm sitting on 45,000 that I don't know what to do with, and I know there's tons of players with way more than me even because they've played more. I guess this is a long-winded "git gud" reply, but that's essentially it. You're playing the game wrong and/or not doing the correct activities if you have no Ascendant Shards. EDIT: You are as casual as they come. You've never even completed a single raid in all of D2. LMAO
-
Don’t MW unless you have a base-10 lv30-31 set for it
-
There is NO chance for a casual player to be able to do mid level content and to have even a remotely chance to first of buy, and then upgrade exotic weapons and armor with all this material costs.
If you're just a casual or not regularly doing endgame content, there's no reason to masterwork armor in the first place. That aside there I'd plenty of pity ascendant shards for casuals. Every vendor gives one at first reset. And you can easily buy them from gunsmith.
-
It’s crazy because I have a max stack sitting in my postmaster because I’m always full, play the right activities and you’ll never be dry
-
Edited by Rainstater: 3/15/2022 1:25:37 AMI’m a casual player and have several master worked exotic armors. As a casual you have to be smart about the ones you masterwork. Masterworked exotic armor is end game so you can’t expect ascendant shards to just be handed out. You can farm prisms in both strikes and pvp easy as a casual solo player. No need to spend legendary shards. Make a goal, play smart and stop wasting your time.

2 RepliesEdited by RichGhost77: 3/14/2022 3:54:13 PMIf you're not doing the hardest endgame content then you literally don't need it MW'd Just leave it at 9. I'm a filthy casual and I have tons of MW'd exotics.. Just do what I do and wait for easy GMs and farm the crap out of them 😁
