Trials should be light level disabled.

Trials should be light level disabled. It should be a test of skill not a test of how many bounties you can no life. Do you agree or do you want unemployed streamers to have an unfair advantage? Edit: Why do people think having LL enabled will stop cheaters (on PC. There are no cheats on console besides ddosing) ? Do you think LL matters if the other guy is teleporting and invisible and invincible? Do you think LL matter if you get ddos'ed flying in? Lol Its a weak argument made by unemployed guardians who want their mindless bounty grind to mean something in end game PvP. Move along.

I get your point and it’s a fair point but I think Bungie has a hidden reason for enabling light level although it’s just a theory. It takes quite a bit of time and some effort to grind to certain light levels. With D2 having a free to play version D2 has been flooded with cheaters. If Bungie drops the ban hammer on cheaters it would be easy for them to create a new account and be back at cheating rather quickly. With light level enabled it wouldn’t be so easy for banned cheaters to create a new account and be right back where they were. However I do believe there should be a light level cap so the playing field wouldn’t be stacked against those who don’t have the time or desire to no life the game. 🤷🏽✌🏽

    • Should the raids be more about skill too? How about everything in the game is "LL disabled" so people can just log in and play... oh yeah, cuz the point of the game is to give yourself that edge by climbing a gear ladder... otherwise it's just sea of thieves

    • Enabling light level in trials will not weed out cheaters it will make it worse. If you discriminate against people who don't have the time to grind to 980 your just pushing people to ddos even more and create even more cheaters. Pvp other than iron banner should not be biased towards high level light players. In my opinion if you need light level to win then you really don't have very much skill in pvp to begin with. If you feel you should be OP because you grinded out a high level go do end game pve or IB that's it's there for. Pvp should be catered to people with real skill not people who just want to crutch their way to end game rewards. If you want a prime example of what happens when mods and power go unchecked in a pvp environment then look a Warframes conclave. It crashed burned and died in a car wreck.

      • Shit internet connections and cheating aside, Trials should absolutely be light level enabled. Guardians are not made equal. This is intrinsically the main problem for me in Destiny 2 as opposed to Destiny the original. Player A: "I paid just as much money as you dude, I want and deserve access to all the content and weapons" Player B: "-blam!- that Bro! I was grinding my ass off in (insert activity) till 4am while you was out drinking and -blam!-ing -blam!- all weekend" In my opinion, player "B" earned his god rolled Mind Benders, and player "A" doesn't deserve one. Player B earned his Fatebringer from running VoG over and over till 4am for weeks or in my case, months. Think about that in todays Destiny sandbox. -blam!-ing MONTHS! It cannot possibly be equal no matter how much time you put in/don't put in and remain viable to all playtimes sunk in. Not counting the astronomically low chance of dropping these god roll weapons first time. Because of the watering down to appeal to everyone, Exotics no longer feel exotic. I can look in game what I'm missing. So i can check list everything. Now there's no mystery, no chase, no reward. I'm not player A or B, I am somewhere in between. But there HAS to be reward for time spent. There has to be a chase. Hard mode raids with nutty weapons that are very rare to drop. As polarizing as Luna's Howl was before the changes, it kept crucible viable. I got it a week or two before the changes, and yeah it was totally busted etc. But it took me that long to get it. Playing solo, getting help from friends, direct messaging randoms if our team played well, LFG or anything except being carried to get there. I played VoG hard mode so many times with an eye on the Mythoclast, that i gave up hoping to even drop the -blam!-ing thing after months of grind. Year 2 i think. A -blam!-ing YEAR to obtain a single gun... I didn't -blam!- and complain, I didn't "expect" that gun to fall in my lap. That was Destiny RNG and exotics were rare. And when i do get it and you see me in the crucible (balancing issues and broken shit is another conversation) and i shoot you in the -blam!-ing ankle and you immeidiately die, tough shit I -blam!-ing earned that gun, and that power trip. That's the ultimate real reward in the end. And now for the most part it's all gone. Everyone has to be equal and level no matter how much time spent or not. It has neutered the Destiny experience and is killing the power fantasy. It's killing the game. I only hope that when Trials does return, there's some cool rare guns, and adept versions in the lighthouse, just like years ago, that tear me a new asshole and make me want to get one too, even if i never actually do.

      • Trials should be FIXED loadouts that rotate every week. That's how you measure skill.

        • Disagree. Thats what they did with Iron 🍌 in Year 1 and it was widely hated by the community. If you are not a high enough light level then you do not get to do it. Trials is the endgame of PvP so its the same as raids. I wouldnt expect to go into a raid with a low light level and expect to be successful.

          • Why are there people here saying to just disable the artifact? We aren’t talking about the old bungie who would take time to do that, we are talking about modern day bungie. Just ask for power level to be disabled, I understand you want to give good feedback but, unless it is easy for the devs they wont do it, just ask for power level to be disabled. Just putting this were people can see it

          • How about we just disable the artifact and its mods in PvP? I think that would solve a couple other problems at the same time.

            • I do see where you're coming from, but I still disagree. Trials is (hopefully) a pinnacle activity, and power level definatly should matter. This game is not pvp or pve, it's both. That beeing said, they should reduce the amount that power affects the gamemode. The way it works in IB right now is just stupid. You have to remember that light level advantages were a thing in d1 trials and IB as well, and worked just fine. I've seen some proposals that the artifact should be disabled for trials, and I think that would solve a lot of problems. Bungie could also implement some sort of delta scaling, where you can only get advantages from power disparitis up to a certain point. For instance any power disparity more than 10 points is negated... The second part of your post is utterly stupid, to the point where it almost destroys your whole argument. Claiming that everyone who has more power than you are unemployed is so dumb. Most players that achieve high power are not streaming at all. I work a full time job and have a kid. I've still managed to hit 986 power without doing the stupid bounty grind. I could easily have been 1000 power if I really went for it. Try making a respectful and well thought out post next time, and you'll have a lot more success with your arguments.

            • I think when they do enable light level advantages it should cap out at pinnacle power level and not take the artifact into consideration. This way you could have a slight advantage as a 'hardcore player' but it wouldn’t allow for crazy things like one hit bodyshotting with snipers, etc.

              • 100% agree with this whilst the leveling system is as it is. If leveling was akin to previous systems, I wouldn't have a problem with it. The grind for max level is just stupid at the moment. Also artifact Perks would to be disabled.

                • It’s a PvP endgame activity. Raids require teamwork and coordination, does that mean they shouldn’t be light level affected? Why ruin the prestige of it? It’s not just another playlist. Yeah doing trials will need skill, but this is a game, not a sport, skill is only part of the equation.

Just disable to artifact for trials easy fix That way all the hardcore can have their 10 light advantage which then in tern gives meaning to pinnacle rewards If you need more than 10 advantage in a comp setting to be honest that’s just sad

I read through the post, read all the replies and comments too... I am not a pvp player at all, rarely dip my toes into it, unless it is mandatory for some reason, now I know I’ll get tore up to rat sh*t from you all, but... I find it extremely ironic that it is now PvP, complaining about PvE having an advantage. I mean, it is ALWAYS PvE whining about PvP, how they Frak it up for PvE this way or that way... lol What a comical thing... gamers on BOTH sides -blam!- about the other side, over a cartoon video game, that improves absolutely nothing in the real flesh and blood world... Really... did going flawless get you a raise at work or employee of the month?, did going flawless ever get you l a i d...?? 😅😂🤣
