Dress code next time. Please.

After watching the Armor 2.0 stream and seeing a Bungie figure dressed like they just woke up was unappealing to say the least. One of the only good things about Activi$ion was that they always had a professional and refined appearance. While it’s okay to be casual in a work place such as a game development company it is most definitely not appropriate to appear that way to the consumer. I’m not friends with the dev team and I’m not watching a Sunday night game with them either. I’m a consumer. Part of being a consumer is having a safe knowledge that the creator of my consumption cares about the product. So tell me how could the team care about the product if they don’t care to wear shoes? Please have a common decency dress code next time. Edit- no this is not about gender. No I don’t want to see formal wear. My intended point was I would’ve liked to see something above minimal effort. While I respect the work that the dev team does that appreciation does not transfer over to being happy with seeing pure disregard for respecting each other’s time. I understand that tech culture is dominated by people who don’t care about the newest fashion trend but professional presentation is still important. Had everybody on the stream been dressed casually I would’ve seen no problem. In the past the dev members have been dressed casual and that’s fine. Something above nothing is all those of us with a problem are requesting. On a side note the sexism and the idea of “being a snowflake” both have no place here. This isn’t meant to be a hate mob. This is just feedback so Bungie knows that the consumers expect to see a level of professionalism above none. Edit 2- yes. There are more pressing matters with the actual game. However the problems with the game do not override the problems with presentation. There is room for both discussions to occurs. Hopefully somebody has relayed that below causal wear is not the appropriate wear for a live appearance.

  • This whole thread is hilarious. Made my night. Lots of feed back from both sides. It would be awesome if somehow this leads to a meeting at Bungie in a few days were everyone is told they need to start adhering to a more professional dress code while at work. It won't happen but it would be funny. All the melenial SJWs that work there would have a melt down and start bringing in their support animals to cope with having to dress appropriately.

    • I'll come right out and say it. She has an awkward personality when it comes to public speaking and presenting. Someone could be wearing underwear and a t-shirt giving a presentation, and sure it'd be shocking at first, but if they are confident, well-spoken, and demonstrate a level of communication to meet or exceed the expectations of the audience, then guaranteed their attire would only be a second-thought to the actual points they're talking about. As is, her attire only compounded her personality. Since she wasn't meeting the expectations the audience had for her communications, people started to examine more closely the external things. A lot of people don't want to say this because it's worse than saying she just should have dressed better. That would have only made it slightly less awkward.

    • I honestly didnt watch the stream, and from what ive seen im glad i didnt. Im personally not impressed with armor 2.0 thus far and it keeps getting worse the more i hear about it. But if i HAD watched it and seen someone come out in their PJs i would have immediately stopped. Thats not only unproffessional its honestly down right pathetic and shows the entire bungie team doesnt care at all about their product. Why should i pay you for a product when you cant even show me that you care about it? If you dont care about it why should i? Completely pathetic and unproffessional. But good news for me is i now know i uave absolitely ZERO interest in buying shadowkeep. Not paying bungie so their employs can be lazy

      • At first I was like "OP stfu" But then I thought about it, and rewatched the stream. And yeah it's super unprofessional. They are showing off a product, suit and tie isn't necessary but uh... Just seemed kinda odd.

      • It’s a damn game reveal you came for the details not how someone was dressed. Now if I were a shareholder and this was a shareholder stream I’d be pissed . Considering a majority of you are basement dwellers she probably thought she would fit right in . :)

      • I don't care about a dress code as long as they're not in their underwear or wearing something equally obscene, but feet on the table is a no. Wear jammies, branded T-shirts, torn up jeans etc. all you want, suits would actually make this setting feel worse to me. There is no circumstance, however, where putting your feet on a table on a public livestream is acceptable. It's just gross.

          • When I saw a Bungie Staff Lead dressed in that manner for a public appearance, I actually said to myself 'no wonder it's takes them two months to fix anything broken in-game.' lol And at the same time you have Luke Smith publicly pleading the case for his overworked staff to the point as using it as a crutch for not getting stuff done, made it look ten times worse. WTF is going on over there is all that came to mind.
