Losing all of my armor again kind of makes me want to stop playing this game again.

This isn’t a shit post. It’s just a... sad realization post. I finally got the hunter legs from CoS this week, but it means nothing. I’ll only get to use them for a few more weeks before they’re left behind and I delete them. Last time it happened with EP armor and Solstice armor. When Curse of Osiris came out I quit this game for months, but I came back with Forsaken. I’ve taken breaks and whatnot, but I’ve generally enjoyed this game ever since. But, I just have that feeling again... why keep playing this game when loot just doesn’t matter and my time gets crapped on? I think the changes being made to armor are good for the game, but I think Bungie should have done more to make sure our vault wasn’t wiped out again. They should have made all year 2 armor available as ornaments. Even the cabal only destroyed our vaults once, Bungie. This is your second time in 2 years. Edit: thanks for all the bumps. It would be cool if Bungie saw this and worked on getting all armor brought forward to 2.0. If they can turn all Eververse armor into ornaments, maybe they can do the same with all armor.

  • I agree, they could/should of made all the armour updated!

They don't understand the game cause nobody at bungie plays it. And their thoughts on feedback are only straight foward. Even Cozmo mentions all the time how he hasn't pertained this and that when their is "good" feedback on weapons. Granted, alot of things in destiny 2 are better the destiny 1. However, everything that matters most has been neglected to be worked on. PvP is the most noticeable example. Most players both solo and teamed up lose matches cause of bad spawn. Cause most of you maps in general are maps made for 4v4. Just one of many issues.

I'm fine with it. I'll keep using my current armor until I get a bunch of better 2.0 armor, then I'll upgrade to 2.0 armor and use Eververse skins to make sure I don't look like butt. Armor resets are easy IMO. Weapon resets are where it gets messy. Remember Taken King? Everything ended up fine in the end (unless you absolutely could not live without Pocket Infinity), but it was a MASSIVE change that came with a ton of growing pains. This armor change will be much easier because, best I can tell, your current armor will remain identical. It's not being gimped, it's just going to be outclassed once you get a set of good 2.0 armor. In order words, you don't have to get weaker before you get stronger, like you do in a weapon reset environment. You'll stay the same, and then get stronger over time.

    • Counter argument: if you never have a reason to chase new gear, you never will. Do you want to spend the entirety of your destiny experience wearing exactly the same gear? Enjoy your armor while it lasts, and look forward to the stores you earn while chasing what comes next

      • From what it sounds like, the main change with Armor 2.0 is that one can slot perks into armor like mods. So, if you have a decently or good-rolled armor piece whose aesthetic is pleasing, there is no reason to dismantle it.

      • Not sure why the debate has turned into whether Destiny is a MMO or not. A game's genre shouldn't dictate whether it is enjoyable to continue grind for things that will become obsolete in a matter of months. There aren't enough content to make me want to do the monotonous grind over and over again.

      • I’m feeling the same way. I have around 4-5 sets of armor that works with different playstyles I have but I’m just not looking forward to them being ditched come shadowkeep. Also though the way armor 2.0 sounds it’s perks we unlock are going to disappear come the next dlc or whatever is after that. So I don’t even think deleting your armor set you like is worth it. I’d say keep it.

      • OP, For starters, I've had the exact same time on Destiny 2. I traded it in just before Curse of Osiris came out and I repurchased a digital version of Forsaken and got back into it, with lengthy breaks here and there. I just got awesome perks for all the forge weapons and I've just finished my notorious reaper armour. I've also been thinking about trying the Scourge of the Past raid just to complete the weapon set. I'm now turned off and don't want to bother with the raid and although I feel like I've accomplished something in this game, I feel like I wasted my time and all my gear will be useless like the year one items. It's not a nice feeling.

      • Yep, haven't set foot in Menagarie since I found out. No reason to grind for any armor. I already got the guns I wanted so no reason to continue.

Seriously, the best thing you can do with this game is just not give a sh!t about it. Play when your bored. Don't try and make friends. They aren't going to stick around anyway. Play a little PVP and send people terrible messages. Do a strike call it a day All the crazy stuff that requires a ton of work. You're probably going to feel better in 6 months if you just don't do it. If you do it you have to realize none of it matters. it's all going to be obsolete before you know it. It's just what the game is

        • Bungo never seen Destiny as an MMO Shooter . But any idiot (ME) can see that it is indeed that . MMO players are collectors , we want everything in the game and we don’t want to give it up no matter what . I have 15 toons in WoW with banks full of crap and a Transmog collection that could choke a blue whale . I like changing my look everyday , I like switching to my tanking armor when I need to be a wall and to my dps set when I need to be a Beast . We need an ARMOURSMITH !!!!! that will allow us to forge old sets of gear with new stats and abilities . Take a year 1 EDZ set and imbue it with new power by reforging with rare materials . Completing tasks and killing strong enemies .

          • Man what? The same thing happened from house of wolves to taken king and the same thing happened from vanilla D2 to forsaken, and then kind of again with drifter and opulence since opulence gear has an extra mod slot. You act like this hasn’t happened in the past

          • meanwhile I have quite alot of accumulated stuff that somehow got deleted when I barely even used them such as the Eververse bounty note which I have accumulated up to 400+ of those and 1k+ of gunsmith materials

          • Adding transmogrification to all armor instead of just Eververse would be the solution to all of this

            • Heard about this earlier today from a friend i just got back into playing the game again and he's been grinding lately to level to 750. So he isn't out much, but still kind of a bummer. As long as we can still use and level up the armor we currently have. I'll stick with it. Don't care about new armor 2.0 unless it truly is beneficial to the gaming experience. Then I'll vault the pieces I like and hope I'll get updated versions of them later on. Kind of sucks this game is always in beta mode. Then it get's good, then bungie wants us to play on a new standalone version and everything we enjoyed playing and seeing and earning will vanish. Bungie needs to learn to respect players time and the player.

            • The big thing I don’t want is a repeat of dark below. I hated that in order for me to be max level and be able to engage in harder events I had to look like count chocula had a child with the creature from the black lagoon. I actually like the way my warlock looks now. It’s a lot like how I looked at the end of destiny1. Instead of a sexually transmitted barnacle head.

                • I see alot of folks keep saying that " this is what MMOs do...." hate to break it to you guys and gals. Folks that keep barking it have never played one or are most likely kids...or ignorant adults. "DESTINY is a long long way from being an MMO" Its doesnt have the size or content to even think of being considered one.

Yeah I’m not buying Shadowkeep currently for more than just this reason. I have armor I like (warlock scourge armor) but of course 2.0 armor is going to be more powerful. The whole point of infusion and eververse armor becoming ornaments is to look the way you want without compromising stats.... that’s literally the point of 2.0, to build what you want.... so seriously they need to let us “reclaim or upgrade” Y2 to Y3 somehow. Feels just like a waste. It’s why I didn’t even bother with the recycled iron banner armor since it’ll happen again. Oh well...... at least make raid armor ornaments or something Edit: in fact why not make all Y2 armor into ornaments? Talk about awesome

You can still use the armor we have now, I would not say its useless. Just because of armor 2.0 does not mean you suddenly can't use the armor we have now to run the same activities that weve already been running. Sometimes I even run pre forsaken armor still keeping at least a heavy and special ammo perk and manage just fine.

                      • It’s their lazy design philosophy. Why make new gear more compelling if you can just knee-cap old gear and destroy them so people have to buy your shitty new content? This is why Bungie only talks about the next DLC and not what comes after it; they know will make it irrelevant next year, and the cycle will continue with their half-assed ‘releases.’
