What do I need to do to be able to snipe without the red dot going to the top left corner of my display if I'm being shot from 168 meters away with a blue sidearm !!!
Please reduce sniper flinch

3 RepliesWhile I agree that the Unflinching Perks, even the Enhanced versions, don't work to any noticeable degree...I do think that flinching a Sniper is 100% necessary. A good Sniper can already be one of the single greatest forces to be reckoned with in PvP, especially in Comp, and your single ONLY hope against them is to flinch them off target. If that is ever removed or reduced drastically, you will see a "reign" of the Snipers in D2, and it's not going to be fun. You think Not Forgotten is bad? Just wait. Even now, I've had many times where I've landed 1-2 shots on a Sniper "prior" to him pulling the trigger, only to have him still be able to correct his aim enough to end my spree in 1-Shot. Right now Sniping tasks skill and only the few that have that and the patience to learn it rock out with a Sniper and do well. Remove or Drastically reduce flinch, and every 8-year old and their dog is going to be Quick Scoping you with 1-Shot, and give you little chance to retaliate. It'll be Counter Strike all over again. AWP anyone? The Key to Sniping in Destiny 2 - awareness, reflexes, knowing your angles, and trying to pull the shot off first. If you can't get the shot off first and you're already taking damage, don't even attempt to "fight through it." Disengage immediately, relocate, and set back up. Chances are whoever was engaging you will overextend to attempt to finish you off, at which point you plant one square between their eyes and punish them for such arrogance ;)

1 ReplySniping is very good right now. Just need a little more ammo or better way of picking it up.

1 ReplySupremacy with fluted barrel and snapshot with handling masterwork. Targeting adjuster and enhanced sniper targeting for the helmet. If you miss your first shot b/c of flinch, spam your next two and chances are that you will hit a miraculous snipe to the head.

1 ReplyI think Snipers could use a buff. People complain that Snipers will dominate in PVP if they're too good. But at the moment shotguns are dominating. And I think the ethos is to get a balanced selection of weapons present in the Crucible. Not just Shotguns.

Pretty sure it just centres the reticle faster so you are able to readjust and take a shot before getting flinched again easier. It doesn't feel like much of a difference tho

1 ReplyNever going to happen. You get hit with a shot from a Sidearm at that distance? You should hand your sniper over to that guy and start calling him master because he has waaaay more skill than you. 168 meters = 551 feet give or take a couple inches. That, right there, would be some serious skill to land a shot, from a Sidearm, like that

The unflinching perk works funny. You’ve got to be shooting for it to work but it doesn’t reduce visible flinch it just lets you carry on shooting where you were shooting to start with. So in the crucible the sniper unflinching is next to useless.

4 RepliesGood. I don't want to go back to 80% of the lobby standing around scoping doorways and hallways all match, every match.

1 ReplyWhen Hamrick the nerf hammer increased sniper flinch back in D1 he went way overboard making Destiny sniper flinch the worst in any FPS ever made. Instead of making it right he straight up ignored all feedback and now we’re still stuck with flinch so bad that perks don’t even work.

Non of them work it's just 3 to 5 % you will never see any difference
-
If someone is lighting you up while you're staring down your scope, it should be extremely difficult to land a shot.

Please reduce sniper flinch[/quote] Unflinching perks don't work because either Bungie coded them wrong or does not know the English definition of "Unflinching." Rather than applying an algorithm that flat-out reduces deflection, Bungie's definition of "Unflinching" actually means "how fast can the scope re-center after being deflected." So no matter what happens, "unflinching" perks do not work because flinch deflection is never minimized. There are no plans to ever correct this either. So the term "Unflinching" should be renamed "Flinch Recovering," so that no one makes the mistake of assuming that Flinch is even being reduced. The Division 2 handles Flinch differently by imposing screen shake without deflecting the crosshair itself. Simple but effective.

Making legendary chest pieces almost worthless

1 ReplySo...your mad cause havnt adapted to d2 systems after 18 months... Can always go back to d1 bud. Just saying

2 RepliesDon't most of those kind of perks not work?
-
No, if someone manages to land a sidearm shot on you from 168 meters, you deserve to get flinched. I main a sniper in PvP and reducing flinch significantly will make them incredible. Now if you're complaining about lag, then that's legit. I hate that some games I can land headshots through a storm of fire while other games shots I'm sure I shot first but never land any headshots. Without dedicated servers, sniping will always have high variance in D2 even though you do the exact same thing.

Snipers, like shotguns, exist to punish people for making bad approaches or being out of position or overextended. If you don't want to get shotgunned, there is a way to correct that with simple positioning and aggression control. If you want to snipe, you need to either catch people unaware, or catch them re-challenging after a non-fatal shot. That's how it really should be. We will never have D1 levels of sniper flinch again, so don't hope for it.

I notice a clear difference when using the enhanced unflinching sniper and not using it. It's not meant to be a huge difference. It's not meant for you to be able to aim perfectly under fire.

2 RepliesAgreed, I have collected a bunch of enhanced unflinching perked armour and they simply don't work

1 ReplyIt literally does nothing. V disappointing
