So I’m seeing a lot of misinformed opinionated posts about the news. For those who do not know what I’m referring to: the bungie livestream for curse of Osiris today was cancelled. Instead bungie will be making a large blog post on their website/app.
So you are all entitled to your own opinions on the matter. However, I feel it’s important you guys understand what’s happening. Today was going to be another typical livestream showing off some armor and weapons and new changes. Lately though public discontent with the state of destiny 2 is at an all time high. Many complaints about the game are surfacing. So instead of the fashion show bungie will be posting a blog post in direct response to the communities feedback.
Now the point I want to make is that many people are upset and making claims about bungie that simply aren’t true. The number of posts and youtube videos that claim bungie isn’t listening or bungie is lying is staggering. This is what this cancellation is about. Instead of ignoring complaints and continuing full steam ahead with their livestream bungie is taking the time to address these issues. They know there is problems and taking action to open a dialogue with the community about these problems.
I for one believe this is fantastic. I love destiny and will always stand by bungie but even I can admit there are problems. However, I believe this is a very positive step in fixing these issues. So before you complain and rage, take the time to look at this blog. The studio is reaching out to you telling you they messed up and they want to make it right. These people poured their hearts into this game and they want it to be better just as much as you do.
Lastly for all the people upset about the xp debacle. You have every right to be upset. In the midst of all the scandal with micro transactions this was not a pleasant discovery. But if you come out and make hateful comments about how bungie is full of liars and thieves, then you are simply wrong. Bungie immediately reacted, clearly confirming that this was indeed happening and taking steps to improve it. They never hid it from you, and they immediately took the blame. It shows me this company is dedicated to righting those wrongs that are out there. So please keep the door open with bungie and keep the feedback constructive. Bungie is doing their part it’s time for the community to do theirs.
TL:DR - the livestream was cancelled for a blog post where bungie is going to address all the problems with the game. Give it a read and make your judgements then. Let’s make community feedback constructive to support a company that is genuinely trying to make things better.

Bungie -blam!-ed up. The community is outraged. And it's time for an answer. That's it. If Bungie doesn't get from behind the shadows and speak up... that's on them.

Edited by Blankman007: 11/29/2017 4:53:14 PMYeah, this is about one thing only, poor DLC presales. If the presale numbers were decent Bungie would absolutely be continuing on with business as usual. They would assume that the vocal complainers were still buying the DLC and therefore the complaints were just noise. To cancel the final hypestream and replace it with this tells me the DLC is not shaping up to sell well at all.

Did Bungie pay you in XP gains and tokens?

I’m not a complete hater of D2, I just think many of the changes were poorly thought out, so I’m not a frothing-at-the-mouth maniac who just hates Bungie. BUT. How many chances SHOULD we give this company? As a Day One Vanilla player, when, in your eyes, should I have the right to complain? How many balls does Bungie have to drop before saying “you guys suck” is acceptable in your eyes?
-
Damage control bro thats all this is.

1 ReplyWhat you need to understand is no one outside Bungie knows what they are going to say yet. So statements like "bungie is going to address all the problems with the game" are worthless.
-
Mrs Smith how's your day going joking what time the blog up at.
-
Do you even...
-
The share price says you're wrong. Dropping fast, money men are worried
-
Bungie employee confirmed.
-
Its literally -blam!-ing damage control. Why would they livestream if they know they would get shit on by the community?
-
They realized it? Became aware of it? They programmed the bloody thing!

Get lost Deej you’re not foolerizing anyone

Edited by ThisMahSwamp: 11/29/2017 4:52:52 PMProvided that their supposed blog post covers the following, I am game for the cancellation: > Reintroduce faction rep as it was implemented in D1. > Random package drops will come from reputation levels, as they did in D1. > Tokens will be used to EITHER purchase items from their respective vendors OR increase rep. > "Competitive" playlist in PvP hits the trash can. NO one plays it... > The Crucible will have selectable game modes. > ALL items will have randomly rolled perks. These perks will be re-rollable at a high Legendary Shard amount (50-100 shards TBD). > Strikes will have specific and thematic legendaries attributed to them. With this in mind, specific strikes will be selectable for grinding purposes. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. However, realistically speaking...this stuff won't be covered....cuz Bungo.

Wrong. They "immediately took action" when they got caught. What a joke you are for believing otherwise.

Yep.
They never hid it from you
This is exactly what happened. Then they DOUBLED the amount to level up while still being "mis-represented" in- game.
this company is dedicated to righting those wrongs
It's good to be optimistic sometimes but I don't exactly call this righting any wrongs. They technically lied twice on the very same issue. ...and no apology??? Your girlfriend cheats on you, you're optimistic and forgive her (in a perfect world). The she does it again the very next day... Do you look the other way?

1 ReplyThere is no reason they can't do both.

Wow such wrong don't really know where to start The reveal was first changed to Reveal and qol update Then xpgate Now the reveal is on YouTube by the streamers The blog post is simply so they can have canned agreed upon responses versus a live response They are going to preach to us
-
Can you believe that if they stream today, the people talking about the game will be right in front of a firing squad.

Edited by rockshox: 11/29/2017 4:43:38 PMI can get behind everything up until xp debacle. I’m a free think adult, and either way the evidence was staggering no matter how you polish it. But I hope the game improves as that’s where I want to be spending my time.

well said. all the unhappy can simply move on and stop playing in my opinion
