A truly balanced nerfed Destiny will be boring... true or false?

13 RepliesWeapon Balance = Skill Gap Dominates! It'll be boring to bad players, cause they won't be getting kills anymore by pressing one button and throwing their sticky grenades. It'll be fun for good players because they won't be dying to trash players who can rely on sticky grenades. With weapons unbalanced, it's like having training wheels on certain gun so ANYONE can be successful. With a balanced system, the victories are awarded to those who are the better players...not the ones who have certain guns. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

3 RepliesIt depends on what you define as fun. If you mostly play PVE, and like to dabble in PVP sometimes, then you will most likely find gameplay elements that close the skill gap to be fun. Vast disparity between weapons, abilities, and super moves, will literally guarantee everyone easy kills. Everyone gets a trophy! If you are a player who likes to play mostly PVP, and you are interested in improving your gameplay within a reasonable amount of time invested, then you are out of luck in a blatantly imbalanced environment. Average and above average players will always feel compressed between overpowered elements that are allowing lesser skilled players to bypass careful aiming and shooting, and highly skilled players who utilize those same elements, who can neutralize any challenge(even if the skill gap in that situation was marginal). Anything that is powerful enough to allow a lesser skilled player to bypass skill gap will be God like in the hands of a skilled player. Then put all of that on top of skill-based matchmaking, latency, and every other frustrating aspect of an imbalanced game, and what you have is a mess... only 2% of the population was actively playing the crucible in year one... because it lacked any depth or substance. The analogy here is this: Destiny 1 crucible as like checkers, while the Vision for Destiny two is more akin to chess. Yes, Destiny has MMO elements, but at its core, it is an FPS. Any great FPS has a great story campaign, and a solid, balanced multiplayer mode. Balance doesn't mean boring to everyone.

Nobody cares if it's balanced or not. As long they're the ones kicking ass and not getting their ass kicked it doesn't matter if it's balanced.

1 ReplyEdited by MC 077 Lasombra: 8/2/2017 8:17:19 AMTrue! The balance only matters for pvp. If top notch gear and stats make pve or pvp "too easy" then you need a higher tier of challenge. You don't need to nerf gear and abilities because you just lessened all the lower tiers. Balance has been 95% about pvp balance and it took away from pve. Give pvp competitive multiplayer with its own ruleset. Jamming competitive pvp rules into pve and the rest of "normal" pvp (for those not esport pvp minded) really ganks the majority for the minority

1 ReplyBalanced does not mean boring... Balanced means you can play with what YOU prefer and actually have a chance instead of being stuck in the meta. When the game relies on gun skill for success as opposed to who has the best roll on their armour and guns (ability and super spam) the majority of people will have a better more fun experience. There will always be whiners though.

13 RepliesYou. Yeah, you. No, not you, Viper. You, the one who stumbled upon this thread. Heed my warning. Don't comment. Don't entertain OP. This is what he wants, it's what he does. No matter how good your argument is or how sound your logic might be, it won't matter. He just wants replies. It's all a troll ever wants. So, please. Do us and him a favor and just exit the thread. The best way to get rid of a troll is to starve him.

4 RepliesTrue destiny was truly at its best when it wasnt balanced. Pvp was best when exotics were op. When you could have so much special there was no way that you could use all of it. When you could go on machine gun sprees from heavy drop all the way to the next one. When fusion rifles were op and assault rifles were awsome. When we had the power to make every bullet sponge boss shit thier pants because your team had black hammer and gjallarhorn. All the perks that got nerfed like field scout, perfect ballance, and shot package. They should have just let pvp be a massive unbalanced mess because at least it was fun. Then came the butthurthouse and then we had to nerf everything to appease the crybaby pvp players. Full disclaimer im not trashing people that play pvp. Im trashing the people that got EVERYTHING nerfed. You bitches know who you are.

3 RepliesNo I don't think so, I think people will have more fun when everything is on a level playing field. In other words, balanced. Others might think that having overly powerful weapons is fun, but the truth is that it is incredibly frustrating for a lot of players. And in PvE, being overly powerful actually takes away from the game, I think. Everything becomes easy and fast. That's boring to me.

2 RepliesI seriously hate all these "nerf this" cry babies. I raided my ass off to get that vex back in October 2014. And hey look at that! All the players who can't raid are bent out of shape ruining it for those who deserve the power

If destiny 1 was balanced then people wouldn't complain and they'd actually play it

The beta and vanilla was the time I truly had fun with destiny pvp

2 RepliesEdited by Smough: 8/2/2017 5:58:54 PMBalance doesn't equal nerfed. I'd rather balanced then one type of weapon being superior than everything else. So I'd say a balanced game is more fun.

1 ReplyI bet you would reach terminal velocity if you fell off your high horse. ;]

2 RepliesWow dude, your out full force lately. Getting ready for Destiny 2 eh? See you in the crucible!
-
1 ReplyTrue balance is boring, but Destiny is not truly balanced
-
1 ReplyI mean, it's all relative, but I say false. A low skill ceiling dramatically reduces how long I spend caring about the game.
-
10 RepliesYou better not have enjoyed the Thorn and TLW meta of HoW. That was unbalanced and annoying. Everyone's complaining about the current meta, so I don't see how that's fun either.
-
1 ReplyDepends. I like having variety over CoD time to kill.
-
1 ReplyTRUE. Never wanted destiny to be balanced. Just fun
-
1 ReplyEdited by Thane: 8/2/2017 12:35:55 PMI don't believe this game could ever be truly balanced. Therefore all their balancing attempts will result in an overall boring experience. There's a reason "e-sports" wasn't on their list when they launched this cluter-blam!-.

1 ReplyTrue. It will be just like every other shooter game. Destiny used to stand out....I knew bungie were dumb but seriously how could they butcher this game so badly....

Edited by TheMudkipLord: 8/2/2017 12:49:23 PMmeh. So long as it's fun, im happy. also you shouldnt ask true or false, that way you can b8 more people ey edit Although honestly its why people like mayhem modes. Kicking ass with supers is fun to 90% of the playerbase. The tossers who want density to be an overly tactical game like CoD can go play cod, or halo etc. Chaotic gameplay like the shotgun ape meta was fun ey
