Saw some of the previous posts about being old and playing Destiny. I'm 56 about to be 57. Bought it yr 1 on PS3- fell in love. Lost some in game time when I went overseas to work. Now have the PS4 version. Get to play about 5-10 hrs a week. Even got to raid with my son in law and grandson once. It was a blast. Thumbs are too slow for serious PVP. Go into crucible just because. Went to Trials once-probably won't do that again. For the record I am a step father of 5,grandfather of 15

2 RepliesEdited by JasonBurke72043: 2/1/2018 10:11:59 PMI’m galford72043 and l’m still playing almost every day. I’ll be 75 in July and hopefully am a tad better player than when l was the Community Focus although l can’t get high scorer in Iron Banner anymore since Bungie changed the matching criteria. I’m actually looking for a clan of older players. Any suggestions? I see I’m signed in with one of my alternate identities. I have three. I believe l’m actually the oldest player in Destiny. I know some kids have put their controllers in their grandparent’s hands to move their character in the game. I have three characters at 40/400 and three more in the high 380’s. I really play.

Turned 50 yesterday, I run 2 accounts being that I'm retired with nothing else to do lol. All of my guardians are 400 with 1.0 or above k/ds as if that really matters. 30 yr Army veteran with a whole crap load of units under my belt but my most time spent in 82nd ABN, 25th ID and 3rd SFG. This game help me keep my hand and eye coordination up to par outside of actually going to the range with my arsenal. Have fun fellow vet guardians and happy hunting!!

42. Been gaming since Atari 2600. Every console that came out new, I upgraded. My reflexes aren't what they use to be, but playing all that time has made my playstyle more of a "smart decision" making one rather than a run n gun type. I'm happy and still effective on the battlefield and will continue on as long as my health and age allows.

Edited by CountyCheese770: 5/7/2017 10:43:08 PMLove post like this, if I were on PS4 you could play with me anytime, or I would like to play with you. Nice to see older people who simply just wanna have fun not worry about numbers or silly stuff. Good for you buddy. Keep on gaming and may your thumbs never slow down. Keep enjoying.

Emmm. 65 :) game on, amigo!

1 ReplyAge is just a number, feeling old is a state of mind. When i play i feel i`m 18 again. 47 by the way, and most of my friends that plays are in the 40`s.

My dad is 67 and he plays so......no, you're not the oldest

At least you guys are all doing something that you love to do. I'm only 25 but it's nice to see that video games kind of transcend age barriers. Keep on gaming on, guardians. :)

6 RepliesI was so happy whenever I saw this thread! Why? Because even though I'm not that old, only 55, for the longest time I thought that I was older than 99.9% of the players in this game - but now I know I am not alone!!! My problem though, is that I am made to feel much older than 55 most of the time by the younger players in the game because I can't move or play as fast as they can. Although I've been playing Destiny since the beta version and have over 4,600 hours in this game, I cannot even begin to tell you the number of times that I have been kicked out of a game by a group because I couldn't play as good as they thought I should. Because of it, whenever I even begin to think about trying to join a new raid team so that I can complete a raid, I will actually become sick to my stomach just thinking about it! So most of the time I end up not even trying. And as far as Trials Of Osiris goes, well, just forget about that all together. I would just like to go to the Lighthouse one time even if it isn't flawless, but that will never happen in my lifetime. All I'm saying is this, although another player may not be as young as you are, or even as healthy (I'm a Disabled Veteran with multiple injuries and health problems), if you would just give other players a chance sometimes they may just surprise you (in a good way). Thanks again for this thread! SGTParatrooper Sergeant, U.S. Army (former) 82nd Airborne Division

Saladin is like 300+ years old... i hope to make it there one day, but i'd also be happy just to make it 50. If Destiny is still a thing then, i'll probably still be playing.
