Well, another great lie from Bungle exposed.
Here in December 2014, bungie goes out of their way to clarify that "100% of your progress will carry over into the sequel".
Better yet, remember when deej said the year 1 guardians will be showing off their emblems to the year 10 guardians?
Hahaha nope.
Feel bad for those who wasted real world money on imaginary items from the eververse, that they can't take into destiny 2? I don't. Typical bungle screwing over the most devoted customers, again, and again.
What makes me mad is the 70+ vault of glass raids I put in to get the praetorian foil. Or how I worked so hard to collect all the raid arbor and weapons, only for it all to be for nothing.

Why the hell should we put time into destiny 2, when we can't bring our hard work into destiny 3?

Well respecting our time played doesn't equate to everything being carried over. It makes since for a fresh-ish start. If we could start the game with some armor or weapons it would be just as much of a blur as rise of iron was. Just quickly burn through the missions and strikes and have zero enjoyment because it didn't last long enough. Lastly to go back to my original point, they will giving out tons of cosmetic stuff like shaders and emblems and maybe even sparrows and ships for having done things in destiny 1. We will more than likely get another record book with the age of triumph to keep up with everything that needs to be done to obtain these things in destiny 2. Will we know what we get and what it looks like? No. But we will know what to do. Hell there might be one little thing in the book to have gone flawless at least once. No qualms from me even if I was a scrub because it is an achievement of sorts and should be recognized even if it is in a small way.

Im glad to be starting fresh however I will not be buying this game anytime soon after launch, when its been out six months, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, nothing has been nerfed, then maybe. Year one of this game was great from then on they just took stuff away constantly, not cool. Im having a blast playing Borderlands 2, and im pretty sure Borderlands 3 will be coming out around the same time as D2 so that will take priority of my game dollar after the shitshow this game has turned into.

3 RepliesWell, most sequels have you do this anyways...If it's so painful to have to start a game over, like you usually have to anyways, why does it bother you so much? Sure they SAID it, but things can change...For all we know there might not even be the same types of guns in destiny 2, not to mention it's an even bigger pain in the ass to re-implement every single gun into destiny 2 just because on the off chance some ones going to choose some crappy weapon. You want them to waste space, get the SAME complaints from people talking about re-skinned content, so you can use some crappy palindrome or clever dragon or some crappy sniper? No. It saves space, time, effort, and makes the game more fresh. Sure I was pissed when I never could bring my jewel of Osiris up to 400 light, but I got over it, just like your going to have to get over it just like the rest of us. Also being angry over not being able to carry over your crappy weapons when the new guns might be 10x better is stupid, if they are better then you most likely won't even be using that garbage you wanted to carry over. (I'm not insulting your weapons, I'm just calling weapons in general crap)

But after 3 years of running around the same friggin planet's and killing the same friggin enemies I'm ready for something completely different. It's gonna have to be. Because I can't play this same old crap forever. It's getting friggin boring. If a fresh start will bring tons of players back to the game then I'm ready for it.

Isn't the quote you used in regards to gear transitions to another DLC? I don't ever recall Bungie issuing a statement saying that anything from Destiny will carry over to the sequel until this TWAB.
