Hand Cannon accuracy is back!! YES!

Goodbye ghost bullets! The trade off is range, which I am fine with! Edit: Great discussion. Thank you for keeping it civil. EDIT POST UPDATE!!! Triplewreck is testing hand cannons, and they are amazing. He is mapping people, 3 shotting them. He hasn't run into any ghost bullets. I expect a wave of apologies from everyone who called me an idiot. Ghost bullets are GONE. Damage drop off is NOT severe.

      • Really? I thought I saw in the notes that HCs were getting nerfed in the range department again and that First shot accuracy *only* was getting buffed?

        New Handcannon meta incoming. If you guys rewatch the stream, there is one moment where he spams his Palindrome (not the later tests with the TLW) and every god dam shot connected and was a headshot. Range estimate was about 20m. HCs will be unbeatable in the 30m range which covers 90% of all engagements. I do not think this is what they intended, but this is the result.

          As long as you're within the new optimal range bloom is going to have less of an effect due to the fact that your target is going to be closer and will have a bigger hit radius. As long as you're near centered vertically on their body you should have no issues killing in 3 shots

                                No. [b][i]INITIAL[/i][/b] accuracy is back After your [b][i]first shot[/i][/b], unless you pace your shots, ghost bullets will most definitely still be a thing. And more common now because they shortened the damage fall off. And by pace your shots, I mean by the time you manage to kill that random AFK guy you'll probably die of old age..

                                  • It's still shit for me . I can aim and fire on target at maximum speed (not spamming) aiming properly and LANDING. Bloom will still fck up my play style. And with the range nerf it's a complete piss take once again for hand cannons.

                                  • What the community at large asked for, loudly and repeatedly, was for bloom to be completely removed AND for hand cannons' accuracy to be untied so tightly from range (so that any roll without Rifles/Reinforced Barrel wouldn't automatically be considered garbage and the cone wouldn't be so fking ridiculous when compared to other weapon types), with the addition of [i]more[/i] base range and THEN steeper damage falloff outside of optimal range to compensate. We asked for general buffing, with steeper damage falloff to ACTUALLY balance that buff. It was a well-reasoned, balanced request. This is not what we're getting. Overall, this change to hand cannons will be a nerf. Make no mistake. All they've really done is taken bloom off the first shot you fire, which is where bloom was already at it lowest. Thereafter, bloom will remain exactly as it is currently. We're just also losing base range and getting hit with steeper damage falloff on top of that. There is no viable, tangible benefit here.
