Bringing sniper rifles down a bit.

I don't get it, you see how many people use snipers over any other special in this game, and yet you only change tiny things about them. I think it's time we discussed the way snipers behave in this game, here are my thoughts: - QuickDraw and Snapshot should exist on sniper rifles; They are hard hitting, precision weapons, they shouldn't be able to aim stupidity quick. - The body shot damage should be brought down on ALL snipers; what is the point in a shield when the most used archetype of sniper takes it and must of my health away in one shot to the body?At most they should leave you with all your health and none of your shield. - The hit detection needs to be reduced by a small amount; so many times I'll be watching a stream or on YouTube watching some gameplay and I'll see someone get a headshot when the reticle is a solid inch away from the head, and it happens to me as well, it doesn't make sense. - Increase flinch when being shot at while aiming with a sniper; this never used to be an issue at mid range with most weapons, but since The Mida Multitool had High Calibre Rounds taken away, there really isn't any mid range weapon that can consistently contest snipers, this has resulted in a game where nobody moves until they get a hit with a sniper. - Return shot package to shotguns, with the range of shotguns being capped, and shot package being removed, shotguns are so unreliable, bringing shot package back would open up the game for more players who want to try other weapons but are stuck using snipers because of how powerful they currently are. Those are my views on the subject, you might not agree, but don't respond unless your response is actually constructive.

    • It's a know fact that snipers are the most dominant weapon in ANY FPS. Don't see why people complain about them I'm used to just sliding and shot gunning people with snipers or just out sniping them.

    • I was just in a game it just started, I get bodyshot switch to primary killed, I immediately pull up ghost and left..that's not skill, it's cheesy tactics and I will leave every game I see this happen.

    • Problem is with quick scope... increase aim down sights to 1.5 seconds... add sway, reduce aim assist, increase flinching.

        • Only put more flinch on 1k stare and longbow and LDR. Their aim assist makes the flinch feel like nothing. Meanwhile, No land beyond, has no aim assist and flinches just by touching the shoot button.

            • Also forgot to mention the reason why we see so many snipers is because everyone wanted a nerf on shotguns and after a year of bitching they finally got it. I say bring back shit package so people will stop crying over snipers again

                While I can see both arguments about snapshot and hit detection, your other suggestions and arguments seem a little off. The shield is usually gone with about 75% health remaining. In addition, almost all snipers across all games are either two to the body or one to the head, with the exception of the .338 from Battlefield 4 and the 20/20 AMR7 in Destiny. The problem is with the scope recovery, when the aim returns to the original point. Currently the scope will return to the original aiming point with High Caliber Rounds increasing the time for recovery and Unflinching decreases this time. A slight change to the mechanic, where the scope only recovers about 90%-95% would help solve the problem. In addition, you can still consistently contest snipers with weapons such as the Mida and the Boolean Gemini while strafing. Most that are seen are the high impact, low rate of fire ones (this is because this archetype overpowers other shotguns, but all still work against other targets).

                • Snipers reward a skilled hand. You don't just get good at sniping over night. It took me weeks to even be somewhat respectable. The aim assist stat doesn't even make a sniper more effective, it just rewards those who are good at drag scoping, which I am not. Scout rifles can counter snipers better than one would initially think.

                  • I agree also spawn sniping is probably the most annoying aspect. When a gun can kill you with one shot through and over shield without you even being able to movie is ridiculous.

                    • This is whats wrong with destiny. You cant just call nerfs on everything thats good or we end up with a very slow paced game. Bungie needs to stop nerfing things and maybe buff something bad like fusions

                      • Man wtf? This is clearly BS. Nerf snipers but bring back shot package! LOL This is clearly you not being a good enough shotgunner that is the issue. Snipers are not OP. Most top players don't even run them in trials because they're not viable when you're playing someone of equal skill. They're not nearly as consistent or reliable as a shotgun, which btw u don't even have to aim even close to as much as a sniper. Yet snipers are too easy to aim? LOL. Sure, bring back shot package but quit trying to tailor the game to your specific play style. If u don't know how to use cover or stay out of lanes to move around a map, work on that first. There is enough flinch on snipers. If u get your shots off quick enough. If not, again, that's on you. Quit crying nerf everyone else's stuff but buff mine, u sound ridiculous

                      • The last patch to snipers was stupid it needs to be replaced with what you said because the last patch promoted camping... I think the TTK patch on shotguns was a bit to hard as well I used a sniper at that time and hated shotguns but now I use a shotguns and feel they're lacking sometimes I can snipe with a shotgun sometimes I'm an inch away and I don't get the kill which is dumb I think a range and accuracy buff is needed for shotguns as for snipers I don't know what to do without turning pvp into a camp fest which it already kinda is but I digress

                      • No to shot package! From a guy who abused shotguns in year 1. They do need to increase flinch dramatically on snipers when getting shot at by any weapon.

                      • The problem with snipers are the maps are too small. Right now snipers have sniper power but have auto rifle range. Anything within 100 yards should be so blurry though the scope you can't tell what it is.
