I would love to see what happens if they took shotguns out of the crucible
I know exactly what would happen the players that are actually good would stand out like no other. Why? Because they are the ones who have accuracy and can use a sniper opposed to the other 95% of players that wouldn't know what to do if shotguns were removed... Because they are all scrub

Can use a sniper? Hide at the back of maps like a coward vs rushing like a scrub? To me both types of game play suck.

1 ReplyLmao that's like 80% of ppl in crucible. They are such garbage. Run/slide and shotgun. Or blink and shotgun. They'll get me once or twice a match but once I know what they have and are Doing I own them from then on. Just shoot em while backing away. Then tea bag them. Lol easy money.

Everyone would complain about snipers and how they shouldn't be a one shot kill and how fusion rifles should take longer to charge People will also complain about their sniper not killing in one shot and their fusion rifles taking to long to charge What's bungie suppose to do?

I would use my other shotgun, called fusion rifle. It has even farther sniping ability. With a small delay for epic spoils.

Shotguns are harsh competitors but I always snipe. Shotgun is just for messing around.

Snipers feel just as cheap, yes they can take more skill, but lots of players just sit still and preaim. Either all specials or no specials. I would prefer a range reduction for shotguns and keep them in.

I can snipe at a very high level but I use a shotgun because I do not want to put myself at a disadvantage

Really, the only reason shotguns are so bad is because all the maps are CQB oriented maps. I remember when Fusion rifles were OP and I saw them far more then Shotguns. Pre-patch destiny how I miss you so. Personally I don't think anything is to overpower, lol I am joking sorta.

Getting shotgun kills takes skill, you have to be able to out maneuver your opponent, a shotgun duel takes way more skill than two people sniping down range. Can you abuse shottys and be cheap with them?? Of course, but the same rings true with snipers, trials has proven that. The only reason shotguns dominate is because most the maps cater to shotty play. I switch between shotgun and sniper constantly. I don't have any special hate for either.

Fusion Rifles and Thorn usage would go up significantly, sniping is not terribly rewarding against a very aggressive team that doesn't allow for set up, removing shotguns only switches the aggression weapon of choice to a quick charge fusion to just melt you, its stupid to think that a player is "good" because he can be good using one weapon when that weapon's counter is removed from the circle of life. I could make the same post about snipers being removed from crucible, fighting multiple shotgunners or even one really good shotgunner is just as hard as counter-sniping. I would know, I do both, because different games require different guns, be prepared to lose if your not willing to break out the guns that win.

Still wouldn't use the special slot. Hopscotch Pilgrim and good old Titan fisting all the way...but it isn't bad to have a backup shotgun.
