A couple of my buddies are away on vacation, so I went to the Recruitment tab to find a ToO team. I'm average at best and don't play a lot of PVP anymore. I was just looking to win maybe 5 games, enough to get a new helmet. Not looking to go flawless or ruin kids days. Just wanted to have some fun.
The more post I read through, the more discouraged I got. Almost every post had the strictest requirements to join.
- Must have exotic ToO emblem
- Must have Thorn, Matador, Sniper
- Must have gone flawless in weeks past
- Must know the map like the back of your hand
- ect ect ect
The lists went on. I didn't want to join anyone and have them get pissed at me so I just left and ran some bounties. Is there anyone who just wants to play for fun and not have go flawless with a 17 k/d lol. Where are of those players? Are there any?
Just kind of wondering if anyone else is in that same boat when looking for a ToO team. Thanks and enjoy your day!
*Edit - Just wanted to thank everyone for the great mature responses & positivity! I've read every response and it looks like the best thing to do is just make your own post. To those of you offering to help me and all the others, you are the real heroes! I hope to pay it forward someday as well just like you have! Game on Guardians!
* Edit #2 - A ton of us are in the same boat! There are lots of people in here looking to team up and dropping GT's! Add them! I'm on Xbox One and my GT is leedy5. I'd be proud to play with anyone in this thread! My awesome (sarcasm) Time Warner internet is down today, but I'll be on tomorrow after they come and fix it!

6 RepliesI go to DestinyLFG.com and the only requirements I see is: •Must be 34 •Must have been to the lighthouse (sometimes) To be in my fireteam, that's what I ask for but twice this weekend, I ended up carrying two people to their first lighthouse. So the real requirements is: •Must be 34 •Must be willing to listen

2 RepliesI haven't looked in ToO recruitment posts lately, but I usually shy away from people that begin with demands. The whole 'must have' thing is just offputting in ANY recruit post imho, raids and other endgame content included.
-
Have gun. Will travel.
-
I accept anyone
-
1 ReplyMy requirements: Wait for players on my friends list. Playing with randoms is a pain in the balls. Always some try hard (YES IM ON XBOX) or rage asshole. This weeks map was shit. Oh. Actually... It was a dream if you're a shotgunner. I'm not

1 ReplyYup. Same boat this last weekend. Just wanted to give it go but after lfg, I Tryed regular crucible instead.
-
My requirement: play one game of elimination or skirmish before even entering trials.

Edited by Anedime: 6/16/2015 6:01:28 PMI tried getting LFG Couldn't find a group because they all asked for Thorn, Fully Upgraded Fellwinter's, Exotic emblem, going flawless this week, and a grimoire score of over 3300. Funny part is of the dozens or so people, I don't know how many met, but the last person I saw recruiting I locked out of their ticket while getting flawless on mine, on a titan that I've less than 30 hours on and don't even know how to play yet because I decided to do a last minute shits'n'giggles run. You shouldn't let it worry you too much, the only team I've had run against this week had a syzygi, bad juju, and a unupgraded auto rifle, people with ridiculous demands don't understand what skill is and think numbers can compensate so they do that shit, just leave them to die in obscurity.

I hate the recruitment post. Especially the kd requirement ones. 99% of the people asking for a kd requirement have a much lower kd then they are looking for. I will never help those players out. Don't feel intimidated as most people who have these stupid requirements actually suck at the game. Trust me on that as I have tired to play with a few. Now I have gone flawless close to 30 times and helped many people. I am on ps4. I usually have a few requirements. One is able to communicate and work as a team. Second is that I can't guarantee anything but will do my best. 3rd one is that have 2 people already and I will be join. Having an emblem of gone flawless means nothing as I have destroyed so many people who have gone flawless without an issue. I won't be on this coming trials as I am on vacation. Will be on the week after. Add me on ps4 if you want help.

Also in the same boat. Im on psn and would like to be part of a team but feel like the recruitment section and lfg are unrealistic. My psn is rammher_7. Add me for this weekend of youd like to teach, help or see how i do. Average at best like op

2 RepliesEdited by Olive Gerden: 6/14/2015 6:53:24 PMMy clanmate and I usually have to LFG or recruitment to get our third person since our other clanmates tend to shy away from PvP. I don't like to brag or boast, not my thing, but we usually end our trials games with a 2.3+ kd. For our third person we don't give two flying shits what you've got. If they know how to use the guns they've got, and pull your weight we take them. Really puts a sour taste in my mouth seeing posts saying " 34s only, must be GG using swarm glitch, have matador felwinters last round sniper gally thorn and last word, must be able to ddos in case we go up against a team of exotic emblems."
-
I laugh at them. Pretty ridiculous. But it's nice to see that stuff and know theyre not the kind of people I want to go through that experience with. No gear in the world is worth playing with elitists for that amount of time.
-
I've been looking up the posters that state these requirements and they often have KD of under 1 in crucible. Two groups I joined I thought I was gonna have a decent run because they had emblems and they were absolutely terrible! They kept dying in the opening ten seconds.
-
Don't be intimidated, anyone that demands you have thorn is already a filthy scrub anyways.
-
Yeah I stay away from those people. Chances are they suck and need really good teammates so they can get carried.
-
1 ReplyThe kicker here is that a lot of the ppl posting such post couldnt break even if their lives depended on it. The sad part is that some of the same ppl actually have managed to go flawless somehow.
-
4 RepliesI just spent 40 mins looking for a TOO group and literally dint get an invite or message or jack shit. Because i dont have Ghorn the same shit happens in PvE its -blam!-ing stupid ive seriously had enough of this BS
-
3 RepliesEdited by Yoshi: 6/14/2015 8:56:13 PMI laugh when I see "must carry your own weight, I check stats" and I see a negative k/d in every playlist. Double standard at its finest. Basically translates to: must be able to carry me and I'll check your stats to see if your back is strong enough for the huge backpack I'll be.
-
Alas if only you were on 360 I could help you, anyhow good luck

There's plenty of posts saying they just want to play with no reqs. Also if you just post on a few threads that you wanna play, people will message you to play. I mean, honestly, you will get mostly bad players as teammates this way. If it's just your intention to play for fun you shouldn't have any problem finding a team. Whenever I post, no matter what I post as requirements, i will get like 5 people messaging me with KDs between 0.5 and 0.8. Finding people to so Trials is not a problem at all. Try posting that you are looking to play on 3 Trials threads and see how many messages and invites you get in the next few minutes.

Edited by Jeepack: 6/15/2015 4:15:28 AMIt's for your own good. I have played with people that die all the time and it was full of akward tensions and no one had fun because they knew I was being pulls back by them... I have played with people with very high kd's and did very poorly because I couldn't handle their play style and didn't have fun because when we would win I would feel useless anyways...
-
4 RepliesMy team always celebrates when we run into a trio of exotic emblems in Trials. Easy win. Good players don't need flair to show they are good.
-
Yes. Yes. Yes. This man sees the truth! All I want is 5 wins for the helmet but it takes me longer to find a team then it does to lose the matches!
-
4 RepliesThe only way to guarantee that a person that I'm recruiting is a solid player and is fit for ToO is that they've gone flawless before. I'm sure there are players that haven't gone flawless yet and are great players but how would I know that...
-
I honestly just want to get 5 win for the helmet. I don't care for the lighthouse. Sure it basically saying "-blam!- yeah I'm a pro" but it can also mean "hell that was easy. We should cheat it every week". Every week ToO turning into the second thing more than most people want.
-
4 RepliesI always post on lfg that I'm decent at PvP not looking for flawless would be happy with 5 wins and have picked up some decent people who just wanted to have fun and win a few matches
