Five weapons that can help against thorn in crucible
After seeing so many people complain about thorn being too op and needing a nerf(even though it doesn't need one)I've decided to compile a list of weapons that could outclass thorn in a PvP battle.These are personal experience and weapon stat based.
These are in no particular order
1.Red Death
This exotic pulse rifle has great range,impact and rate of fire.It can kill guardians in [b]two[/b] bursts,which would easily outclass thorn.It will heal you after kills,so it negates the DoT.Easily one of the best PvP weapons in the game
2.MIDA Multi Tool
Underestimated by most of Destiny's community,this beast can allow you to strafe easily and land crits.It can fire quicker than most other scout rifles,and with it doing about 55 crit dmg per hit,it can take down someone's health pretty quickly.If you have the aim,this thing will wreck in the right hands.
3.Spare Change.25
Carbon copy of red death.Except frees up an exotic slot.Kills in two bursts,and has great range and stability for a pulse rifle
4.Vex Mythoclast
While at medium to long range this gun cannot perform well,at close it's an absolute beast.Its high impact of a fusion rifle and it's fire rate proves it to hit hard.Since most of Destiny's maps are close range(example:Cauldron,Pantheon,Anomaly) it tends to have an easy time on most maps.Run with it and you will most likely win all of your 1v1s in crucible
5.Almost all Osiris exclusive primaries
These weapons are awarded to people who go undefeated in trials,and they're definitely worth it.While also being stellar PvE weapons,they have proved themselves in PvP.The jewel of Osiris has better stats than thorn(other than rate of fire)and can defeat it at close to mid range.The messenger,from what I've heard,behaves similarly to red death.Meaning that it can easily kill you in 2-3 bursts and it can fire quickly.The scholar is just another hard hitting low recoil scout rifle,which agains like the other two can outclass thorn.They were built for PvP.
Hopefully some people realize that there is more than one way to skin a cat,or that you can beat thorn without thorn

4 RepliesHush little baby don't you cry, Thorn's gonna sing you a lullaby. Two straight shots to your head, to make sure you are dead. And if that good ol' Thorn don't kill, Damage Over Time sure will. Fusions and shotguns don't you fret, post mortem kills is what we'll get. And if you're still alive, beware. There's plenty more Thorns in the Garden there.

2 RepliesThorn can take you down with 2 shots, shot in a timeframe of 0,36 seconds. The dot will take over and kill you. So the gun you're looking for has to either have a killtime faster than that 0,36 seconds or it has to prevent the death from the dot. Statistically, there are only 2 non-one hit primaries that can beat thorn. The last word. It has a ridiculous 0,26 seconds time to kill that could outgun thorn with 2 shots before the thorn could fire the second shot. The second gun is the Red death. 2 shots from thorn do not kill instantly, but rather inevitably with a dot. 3 third shot is a sealing shot. Red death could kill the thorn user just before that critical third shot and stop the dot before it drains the rest health.

2 Repliesive been killed a LOT by The Messenger, i have not been able to inspect its impact but it has to be stronger than Red Death. one on one i was tapped in the head before i could aim red death at a guy with it. wish i was good enough at trials to get it lol

Huh, huh. I guess everyone but you must be stupid then because they keep using Thorn. Also, Jewel is crap compared to Thorn or Hawkmoon. In fact, I got most of Trials weapons and they're just regular weapons painted yellow. They can't be re-rolled and everyone of them has a much better counter-part if you're playing pvp. In fact, the only nice thing about them is the elemental primaries and duh its for pve.

2 RepliesThe reason why most people use thorn is that it has a low learning curve for effectiveness. TLW takes a skilled hand. Some folks will never be good with it. I'll stick with my legendary pulse rifles. I'll destroy most thorn users.

1 ReplyThe mida and vision are most definitely not counters for the thorn. Thorn has a quicker ttk than both and about as much range, not to mention better aim assist. I could see you maybe out gunning someone using a thorn with the mida if you were running dance machines, but that build requires a hunter only exotic and requires perfect headshots, while the thorn user only has to tag you 3 times and run. No, dont wanna hear how you do it all the time. Thats great, but all that means is you have better gun play skill than the average thorn user. I'm talking straights stats.

5 RepliesThe gun is ruining the fun in the game for me now. Fed up of hearing its stupid "ting ting" when fired. Can't go into one single game without seeing at least 4-5 thorn users. It's really boring to see now. There's no diversity in the crucible anymore. Events are far worse. Aw well, elder scrolls on Tuesday.

I would add TLW in close to mid range I can beat thorn users 9 times out of 10. Past mid range I get wrecked by it though haha
