"Thank you swordbearer".There, that wasn't so hard was it?
Now why do so many people have trouble saying it after their swordbearer has finished smashing crota back to oblivion?
A skilled swordbearer can make killing crota look easy, but let's face it they are the ones doing all the work here. Jumping onto a platform and shooting a rocket on the word "go" is one of the easiest tasks in destiny and yet so many of you can't even get that right.
Next time thank your swordbearer, without them Crota would still be laughing in your face.
EDIT - just for clarification, this is only a problem I encounter in LFG groups.
EDIT 2 - you don't need to keep telling me that the guy who distracts boomers deserves praise 1) I don't use boomer distracters; and 2) dancing in a Titan bubble seems even easier than the simple task of firing a rocket.

I say good job or nice or whatever. I dont feel as though i should thank the person, seeing as its his designated job. Its like thanking someone for doing the job the way theyre supposed to, theres no point

1 ReplyFor sure swordbearers have a tough job, but you would die for sure without having your trusted buddies controlling the boomers and getting crota down on your mark, we have pretty much two standard swordbearers on our team ( one is me ) but both tasks are equally important in my opinion

Fighting Crota is like a mechanical wheel. You need to fit all the cogs into place and oil the machine to keep the wheel turning. I am a seasoned swordbearer and able to run the sword flawlessly, but do I need a thanks for doing my job? Nah. I just get on with it. Feel free to dish out criticism if somebody else is failing to perform their job by all means, but don't always expect expressed verbal validation from your peers. Just know if you did your job well, they're think "my god he's/she's a beast".

A fantastic post. Being a swordbearer seems easy but it is not, especially on classes other than hunter.

The hardest part for my group with the raid now is killing the sword bearer. He keeps buffering off I to one of the two towers. So when ever he actually stays in the middle or any where where we can kill him quickly I do thank the sword bearer, for not being an ass.

being swordbearer is pretty easy itself (ofc with the right team) i have done it on all 3 of my characters just gotta have common sense on when to go after seeing the rockets hit him and knowing how to dodge his attacks and thralls

I enjoy running sword. Just learned how and I got the hang of it quick. Me and my brother two man it now so we don't have to deal with finding a team. I should be thanking people for letting me run it. Nothing like spending 3 hours with someone not knowing what they're doing.

On hard mode I agree somewhat. I mean the fact is a wipe is 99% on u if u get killed by crota.

With our group regardless of who has run the sword the first words heard are Thank You. Usually before the rewards are done scrolling. It's the same no matter if it's a regular guy or a random, it's the right thing to do. Especially, if you ever hope to have them want to help you again. We also thank the rest of the group with a more general good job guys,thanks for helping. Maybe that's why we are never short of people willing to raid? After finishing off my 3 raids last week I helped out on at least 15 extras just to give friends the chance to get though also.
