Why? Just one time id like to get in a strike with a lvl 32 and actually kill things, rather than saud dbag run ahead without shooting anything and making me fight through multiple waves in one go. Dont do stikes or you're not gonna be a freakin team player.
*edit: i should have been more specific when i made the title. I realize not all 32s are like this, but a majority of the ones i have played with have done this. So if you are one of the nice ones who still likes to help out and have fun killing things then this was not meant for you.

3 RepliesI just miss the good old destiny days where the people you were matched with played the strike properly.. and by this I mean, helping one another take down the waves of enemies instead of skipping. Actually play the strike instead of being MIA and get the reward... take the time to revive you when you're down instead of making me wait for the time to count down. But most of all... I miss the waving at the end, the dancing with one another and sticking around for the timer to go out. Now it's just... beat the strike, so and so has departed. 😦

if 2 out of 3 are 'rushing ahead' who is the team player and who isn't?

Edited by Swiftlock: 3/5/2015 10:57:25 PMMany players need to play hundreds upon hundreds of strikes to have any chance at finding an exotic when raids/nightfalls fail them because of the awful loot system. That is why a lot of 32's rush through them as quickly as possible. If you want to stall and waste time killing little trash monsters, go play patrol. I have never found a single exotic from an engram dropped by a monster. I have found several exotics from strike rewards.

2 RepliesI'm a 31 and I'm a scrub/noob. I finally make it to 32 and now I'm a douchebag. Is there any safe level to be without being called names?
-
3 RepliesPart of the fun of bringing any of my 32s into roc strikes is being op and crushing mobs lol. I don't get the point of skipping the fun for routine and mediocre rewards...why do it then...?
-
I brought a team of 31s through hard Crota's end with my 32 hunter. Does this make me a good person?
-
Guess you've never done a ROC with me :) All things must die. Can't even say how many times the hoobliebooblies at the very beginning of Nexus gave me a legendary.
-
There are pros and cons to both sides of this. Personally, I think it's a good idea to kill as many enemies as possible because of the engrams. I just got my 2nd Gjallahorn last night from running a regular 26 ROC strike last night, the Omnigul one. Had a legendary engram drop while we were picking off random enemies, and it decrypted into a Gjallahorn at the tower. I was amazed. Some guys like to speedrun the strikes, which is fine, but I find the rewards are better overall if you take that extra 5 min and kill more of the adds IMHO. It's just a numbers game

There is no reason to fight everything all the time.
-
Pssh I play destiny like I play souls games. If I don't need to kill them I just run past them and go straight to the boss.
-
Just run past the enemies that don't need to be killed, if 32s are running like this they're farming engrams. Get over it.
-
Don't run strikes with random dickbags. Solved.
-
I'm level 25 and I run through. Why fight the the things you don't need to kill? Get the strike over and done with for the rewards.
-
Change your play style to the group you're with or only run strikes with people of similar gaming traits who you've friended. Don't expect random players to change their play style for you. You are not the center of all things. Until you learn this and understand it it is you that are actually the douche bag.
-
Get your head out of your ass you don't even have 1 31 yet
-
1 ReplyYou mean to tell me that AFTER all that raiding and high fives to get to 32, I'm STILL a douchebag?!?
-
Thats why 32's are successful. They understand game dynamics and dont waste time -blam!-ing around like a noob.
-
You just hate us cause you anus. And you should seriously consider completing a raid. And then another and another.
-
People speed through strikes. That's just how it is man. You can't change how people play the game, especially posting abrasive garbage in the forums. You don't have to be 32 either. People of all levels do the same. You can too. When I'm doing strikes, if someone is killing all the enemies along the way, I'll join them. If everyone is speeding through to the boss I'm doing that too. Or, I might just do whatever the Hell I want. Sometimes a public event is starting right as you land for a strike. I always do them. Bottom line, you can't change how people play the game. Don't generalize and group people into categories and call them all douche bags. It makes you look like a douche bag.

I rarely run in the Strike playlist, especially with my 32. If I'm running a strike with him, it's not for the loot, it's for the completion, and it's almost always at the initial level for the strike. I don't care about the nothing adds between start to finish. I care about completing the objective, so I'll usually rush ahead. If the other two are hanging back, I'll throttle myself down (a little) and stay just ahead of them. If they are killing everything, even the mobs at the beginning before the Darkness areas, then I'm not stopping to wait. I'm not wasting time killing level 8 Dregs that I don't have to. All I want to do is get the bounty for killing Sepekis, or Phogoth, or Sekrion, or any of the other end bosses. That's one of the reasons that I keep my ass out of the strike playlists.
-
Pro tip: You don't have to be level 32 to skip past the adds and run your strikes efficiently.
-
6 RepliesWow... I lol at you guys that sit and feel you have to shoot everything. I ain't got three hours to do a Lvl 26 strike
-
4 RepliesHonestly when I do ROC strikes, I'm not in it to kill everything. I'm there to speed run, get my engrams and get out. If I do not have to kill it to proceed, it will live to see another day. If I do, well, a quick Nova or Ghorn shot will usually fix that. And on the off chance I think you're loligaging on purpose, I'll probably wipe when I get to the boss to bring you to me. Not trying to be an ass, I just don't want to spend a long time on a weak strike.
-
1 ReplyI only do parts that are necessary. I don't do non-darkness zone fights because they are pointless. Take Valus Ta'urc for example. I run past the level 18 people at his land tank because they aren't even really part of the strike. That's why I skip those parts.
-
Yeah, there's definitely two legit sides of the story here. On one hand I can sympathize with the OP, on the other hand I can see why a lot of players don't want to deal with the pre-cursory enemies. I myself often blow through these areas in an attempt to make up for the inordinate time required to grind out mats and etc.
-
When I get to 32 I won't do that because I don't now. I look back to see if the rest are following and if not I stay and wait or if close enough - I help kill enemies to clear a space for the to catch up. I too have been left at that altar lol and it sucks.
