The sword runner that kills Crota should be rewarded
Why is it that if you are the player that kills crota with the sword you do not get a special emblem or shader for doing so. That role is not easily done and honestly can only be preformed by a select few. Reward us please. Destiny seems to reward noobs more for background fighting rather then the hardcores that know the game in and out. It will give gjallahorn to a fresh level 27 first nightfall but make me wait three to four months before giving me mine. Not complaining that i have one just dont think the reward system is fine tuned. Hence the crucible reward system

Attempted Crota hard as the sword carrier for the first time last week. We wiped once and got him on our second attempt. It was awesome. The congrats and excitement from my clannies was reward enough. [spoiler]it would be cool to rock a unique banner or shader however[/spoiler]

It's just that some people don't try because they think it will be hard or they will mess it up in front of the group or whatever pressure anxiety they have... but if you actually coax them to try it, they will do it easily after a few wipes to get the timing down.

And then when you equip it you get spammed with randoms for days. Please help this that and everything else. I would not ever chose that emblem/ shader or whatever it maybe.

I kinda agree. Even though it's a team effort, the swordbearer is essentially the QB or point guard calling the plays. Just look at the tasks he has to do 1. Put himself in harms way to grab the sword, sometimes even assist in downing the swordbearer . 2. Know when to call in artillery on crota and when to approach crota. 3. Know how to extract out of the hot-zone without taking too much dmg (Hard mode). 4. Time the strikes so crota enrages at the right time (hard mode). Now compare that to someone with a jellyhorn on the middle platform...I 'd say a unique shader or emblem is justified.

I agree on some level. I think they're should be a special emblem for the sword bearer as it would encourage others to learn how to do it too. I sometimes get stuck on my hunter because nobody else can sword consistently. If everyone knew how to sword it would be great

1 ReplySorry I don't think it's a good idea...Being the sword bearer doesn't warrant extra rewards because the raid is a team effort... While you are smashing crota your team mates are burning glimmer on ammo synths and keeping the boomers (and wizard) under control, everyone has a part to play in it and that's why the raids are good. Put an extra reward on the sword bearer and you'd have a mad dash of people running for the sword ending in deaths, over souls and inevitably wipes.

Destiny rewarding people for not doing much? You don't say! Ya the RNG sucks. Tell us something we don't know and didn't already complain about. Also about being sword bearer, that's not that hard of a job, and it wouldn't even be possible without the people shooting at Crota first. And not to mention if the sword bearer dies, guess who has to shoot the oversoul, the people in the back.

1 ReplyUmm, no. It's called...wait for it... TEAMWORK! The swodrdsman, does not do all.of the work. The swordsman, usually, doesn't dps boomers, take out the sword bearer, or kneel Crota. The sword bearer chose his/her path. Therefore, that's what they do. So, quit with the entitlement crap, SMH, damn twelve year old.

As a swordbearer I'll tell you that roles are equal, ever been in a group that couldn't get crota down fast enough? Don't matter how well you can damage crota if your squad mates can't get him down or do so in a timely manner. It goes hand in hand

You didn't clear the hallways alone, you didn't defend yourself against thrall in the pit by yourself, you didn't take down the swordbearer by yourself, you didn't take down the ogres single handed, you didn't generate all the orbs required, you have someone watching your back and letting you know what's up. I love running sword on inexperienced teams and love watching the guy get that gun he's been wanting for so long. I love helping and playing as a team. Go home selfish scrub. Team effort, team reward.

Something to show you had slain him would be cool, an emblem or bond, nothing fancy. I created a hunter a few weeks back in order to run sword as there seemed to be a dirth of people willing and hunter class makes it easy. Got my first crota kill about an hour ago :)

I would like this, because a lot of people doubt warlocks can do the sword but I've done it quite a bit . I enjoy doing it
