The sword runner that kills Crota should be rewarded
Why is it that if you are the player that kills crota with the sword you do not get a special emblem or shader for doing so. That role is not easily done and honestly can only be preformed by a select few. Reward us please. Destiny seems to reward noobs more for background fighting rather then the hardcores that know the game in and out. It will give gjallahorn to a fresh level 27 first nightfall but make me wait three to four months before giving me mine. Not complaining that i have one just dont think the reward system is fine tuned. Hence the crucible reward system

It's not that difficult to be swordbearer, I actually learned on hard mode, because everyone else didn't want to try. Took me about an hour to get really good at it, and we took him out all in all in about an hour and a half. As important as a swordbearer is, It's a team effort, your team distracts the boomers, your team down crota, your team do most of the damage to the swordbearer knight if they don't take him out. I've done HM, where 80% of the time I've been swordbearer. RNG is RNG. I've been swordbearer and got energy and shards. Yet on Ir Yut I was dead for pretty much the whole encounter and got the Gjallarhorn. You get what you get whether you did amazing or you sucked.

Agreed, i sword all the time on all 3 characters on normal and i still cant get blackhammer

I've been a part of raid teams that have had killed HM crota with every class. The only difference is that hunters have an easier time. Other than that it doesn't really prove anything more than other players. You couldn't kill him with the sword without your team soo....This is why you all get the same emblem and shards.

Someone posted in recruitment recently, "Professional swordsman available" etc... Honestly I lolled, sounds like an ad for a hitman. I know you [b]think[/b] Its something really special but it ain't. There aren't people who can't do it. Only people who bothered to learn - and people who didn't yet.

As someone who runs sword for pretty much every group I play with I entirely disagree. First of all I don't want someone who doesn't know what they are doing trying to run the sword just to get some kind of special reward. Secondly I find running sword to be more fun anyway (I actually help out random groups for this very reason after I've already done everything for the week) and I would rather always have the sword bearer slot be open in my raid groups.

UMMM im a swordbearer and to be honest ANYBODY can do it (ofc if you know HOW TO) and it doesnt take too much "SKILL" to run down , bop and weave thralls , and jump on a rock and go invisible and repeat ... :)

Then every team is going to fight over who gets the sword. Would completely destroy the "team" concept. Crota would take forever will some scrub running sword just because he/she wants the extra reward. Dumbass idea.

Nobody gets to take the thrill of dropping Crota on hard up close and personal from me. It's my goal to get all my friends up to speed on the sword so that they can share in the exhilarating satisfaction of bashing him to ash. If you're doing it for the in game rewards you're doing it wrong. By it I mean video games.

Sword is easy to use between all 3 characters. But maybe an emblem (class specific) would be nice. But you know....Bungie

While that experience is worth a post of its own let me just say that I got radiant energy while my friends got exotics and legendaries. I do not want a special reward, but it kinda numbs the feeling of greatness after downing crota yourself for the first time and then being the one with the shittiest loot. haha. EDIT: Why not give people a shader the first time they beat crota with the sword. A shader would not be something that would be unfair to give to only one player. It would be a nice gesture towards the person downing crota, even though it is a team effort.

Because just since you did one thing does not make you special in the game for doing it. It can be performed by anyone that has learned how to and can be done by any class. So no you are not entitled to a reward ever just for doing it.
