Why is it that if you are the player that kills crota with the sword you do not get a special emblem or shader for doing so. That role is not easily done and honestly can only be preformed by a select few. Reward us please. Destiny seems to reward noobs more for background fighting rather then the hardcores that know the game in and out. It will give gjallahorn to a fresh level 27 first nightfall but make me wait three to four months before giving me mine. Not complaining that i have one just dont think the reward system is fine tuned. Hence the crucible reward system

I believe that only Swordbearers should use the sword of crota emblem.
-
I completely agree I always felt that you should receive emblems for reaching a certain amount of Crota kills to show sword experience
-
It's a team effort without people downing crota on hard I would like to see most people do it solo then, cause you think that's the only part that's matter. Which makes you a dipshit
-
1 ReplyThese are the rules. Everybody fights, nobody quits. If you don’t do your job I’ll kill you myself

2 RepliesEdited by Ampiyz: 3/4/2015 11:23:35 AMif you solo it you should get all the rewards from the team. JK but we should get a lot better rewards. And for most swordbearers the team you have must be good because not everyone can take hime down without there team. Im not saying that you are not capable of doing it but your team is what makes killing crota so easy and worthwhile. when yor a higher level and you carry some noobs throughout the raid you should not worry about rewards, but the feeling inside when you help someone out and they freak out about the emblem that you had for a month already. You should focus less on the rewards and more with helping other players. If everyone did this, destiny will be a better place for everyone.

7 RepliesThose other 5 have a big role too. They gotta kill swordbearer as the runner is usually avoiding Crota's Fire and the Thrall. Then they have to take down Crota's shield for you to even attack Crota. Honestly, everyone has a big role when they all fight Crota.
-
4 RepliesTo everyone saying it takes teamwork, you can take down his shields with 2 Gjallarhorn rockets maxed out. You can solo it on normal with some bumps in the road. You can take him down it 2 swords.
-
6 RepliesWithout people shooting Crota the swordbearer is useless, don't think to highly of yourself, it's a team game.
-
He is, he had the most fun, intense, difficult, rewarding job out of everyone else there and gets to claim bragging rights to being the sword bearer that slayed the hives god - but yeah an emblem maybe that shows you did it would be cool
-
A unique shader would be cool... They could call it "Blood of Crota" ! Yeah...that would be cool..
-
I've often thought the same of Pvp rewards. Top of the board should always get something. There is no incentive to be great if you can bust your tail for the team, come in first, and get no reward while the 0.2 K/D player that almost lost it for the team gets one...
-
Uhhh... So, the other 5 assholes that are prepping things for you to damage Crota essentially makes them less important. Go figure...
-
I think you should definitely get a special reward if your the sword bearer, If you solo it! But if there are people there taking down his shield keeping boomers off you and what ever else then no you shouldn't. Just my opinion.
-
5 RepliesThe dps does alot behind the scenes. It takes teamwork and coordination since one can't succeed without the other.
-
I've only done one raid where i didn't end up as sword bearer. Im not saying its hard but it is significantly more difficult of a role than the other players that just need to stay alive and shoot rockets. I do feel like the swordbearer should receive some insignificant emblem or something for beating him on hard. Then you'll also know if someone is a decent swordbearer.
-
4 RepliesBecause they can't kill him without making him kneel. It's a team effort. Plus it isn't that hard to kill him if you have the right team shooting rockets and popping bubble.
-
1 ReplyThen everyone would fight to be the sword guy. We would have even more bad sword bearers.
-
1 ReplyYou say you're not complaining yet you are in fact, complaining.
-
Get your head out of your ass, everyone can be a sword bearer with practice. It was the same shit people used to try and say about the relics in VoG, only certain people can use the relic properly. If it wasn't for self centered idiots like you, trying to say other people are better then others this would be a different game. I bet your one of the ass hats that try to say unless you got a ghorn you cant run Crota on hard. If the team works together and properly comunicates with each other, and ass hats like you actually listen to the team, anyone can be a sword bearer and anyone can beat crota on hard
-
I don't know about the "select few" part, anyone can learn it, it just takes the right timing and practice. But I agree about some sort of reward, at the very least a grimoire card or something, sheesh!!
-
10 RepliesIts pretty easy to do sword....
-
27 RepliesEdited by hexxem: 3/3/2015 11:12:12 AMStop acting like running sword is hard. Been there done that.
-
Because you only get one chance a week per character to be swordbearer. If I killed crota with sword then that means everyone else will have to wait until next week to get their turn. It just wouldn't work out.
-
the first time I did sword bearer it took me 3 swords as a 32 Titan. I got truth. was pretty excited. only exotic.
-
Someone has a small d*ck and needs to make up for it. Get over yourself, it's a team effort. You didn't get anything special for using relic in VoG, so why start now? Sounds like you really just need/want attention,
-
It's not that difficult to be swordbearer, I actually learned on hard mode, because everyone else didn't want to try. Took me about an hour to get really good at it, and we took him out all in all in about an hour and a half. As important as a swordbearer is, It's a team effort, your team distracts the boomers, your team down crota, your team do most of the damage to the swordbearer knight if they don't take him out. I've done HM, where 80% of the time I've been swordbearer. RNG is RNG. I've been swordbearer and got energy and shards. Yet on Ir Yut I was dead for pretty much the whole encounter and got the Gjallarhorn. You get what you get whether you did amazing or you sucked.
