Fusion Rifle spread nerf in 1.1.1 update ruins Crucible for Fusion weapon lovers, BUNGIE, please fix!!!!
Hi all,
It is my sad duty to report that the recent Fusion Rifle nerf in update 1.1.1. "Widened blast pattern on a Fusion Rifle burst cone" has effectively RUINED the Crucible for Fusion lovers.
I have been playing almost every day since X-mas when I got Destiny, and have been using the same Fusion in the Crucible the whole time, my trusty Plug-One. Since I have been using it every day for months, I know it inside and out, its my favorite gun in the game and now it is WORTHLESS in the Crucible.
The "spread" has reduced my effective range to that of a close up weapon, I fired into a friend to test it at different ranges, and I'm sick to my stomach as to the results. The spread widening has made the fusions into a close quarters only weapon, and since they take so long to charge, why would anyone use them over a shotgun now>???
Fusions are supposed to me "mid-range" guns, but i can't reliably hit someone that is almost right in front of me anymore!!!!!
This is ridiculous, it is a HUGE change!!!!!!!
All my friends that are fellow Fusion lovers are very upset, alot have refused to even play crucible anymore due to the horrible nerf. It is very painful to play Crucible anymore, I play the exact same as i have for months, and one nerf has changed the whole game for the worse.
Please, Bungie, reconsider the spread nerf, it has affected the Fusions TOO MUCH!!

Whether you like it or not this is the way Bungie forces everyone to play the game. They rebalance it on purpose and expect everyone to relearn how to be good with the weapon at closer range. Take it how you will that's the way we play Bungie's game lol.

3 RepliesI always looked at it like, the charge time is a negative, so in order to counter that, the weapon has good range. But now, I don't see any reason to use a fusion rifle over a shotty.

8 RepliesDude. Fusion Rifles are still beast up close. They aren't supposed to be able to snipe. They were never intended to snipe with. They were not designed to snipe with. Use the appropriate tool for the correct situation. You do not snipe with a shotgun just a similarly as you do not use a sniper rifle as a machine gun.

I just wish they could've destroyed the fusion in only pvp. I mean, they didnt HAVE to wreck it for both pvp and pve did they? No, they didn't. I was messing with the pocket infinity and was just surprised at how bad the range was. Since the nerfing i haven't used fusions as much. They def took a beating. ARs? Shadow price got whacked with something that is NOT 2.5%. Like people have said, the 2.5% might be true because how many high rof bb guns there are compared to the shadow price, vanquisher, and suros. Those last 3 have been nerfed upwards of 10+%!!!! Bungie, wreck pvp if u must. Leave pve out of this tug-of-war.

Highest impact weapons in the special category should be limited to closer range. Still has better range/impact than a shotty with only a minor charge time. Play smarter;)

2 RepliesI used to use fusion rifles a lot but now I'm all about my Felwinter's Lies. Do a lot of players not use their radar? I never even crouch. I just stand next to a door and wait for guys to walk in and then blast them. So give shotguns (or sniper rifles) a try .

My Pocket Infinity is doing fine. The fusion rifle no longer causes instadeath at longer ranges. Working as it should have been from the start.

It seems like the whiners aren't realizing that the game was supposed to be situational. One gun shouldn't do everything. If you are having a ranged battle, a sniper or scout should dominate. Same could be said about shotguns and fusion rifles in close range. I'm a fusion rifle enthusiast. I'm that guy that gets 20+ kills with my pocket infinity. They were nerfed, but I'm not gonna complain, you adapt.
