I know this is going to be seen as the usual lvl 32 elitest BS, but I just joined and promptly left a Crota group from LFG not because they had a 31, but a lvl 30.
I mean, seriously? level 30 on Crota Hard?
Edit: I should add to this that i didn't join and have an allergic reaction to a lvl 30, rather there was a lvl 30 in the group and there was the usual stupid questions like "oh, we can't revive in here" So yeah, i agree a good group should easily do Crota with 30s but as we all know, getting a good group from LFG is a bit hit and miss
Edit 2: it seems my post has opened up old wounds, my irk was not about "carrying" lower level players per se, it was more an issue with joining a group of "hard" players with an LFG advert of lvl 32 only to find one lvl 31 and a lvl 30, there has been mixed reactions to this but do the honest majority of us join a hard rota raid expecting to find 30s in there?

1 ReplyLevel 29 is more than enough for Crota HM, providing you have a decent swordbearer.
-
4 RepliesIf they aren't your friends, no reason to carry dead weight.
-
11 RepliesDude I've done it with a 28 aight so enough of this bs about not being the proper level

4 RepliesEdited by Its Trash Day: 2/28/2015 7:32:56 PMI was a 29 when I first beat Crota hard. Some people have low rank but don't actually suck

1 ReplyGetting a good group from any lfg is almost always a miss
-
Lol please as long as they have a good heavy and a good sword bearer you should be able to handle a couple of 30s
-
I remember the very first week of TBD my friends (barely lvl 30) and I thought we could handle Crota. Until a lvl 28 joined and said he had good weapons and gear (rares and maybe one legendary gear and one weapon). Never again. We couldn't make it pass the 3rd lamp :/

5 RepliesHey guys. My tatic is if u can't shoot crota or snipe boomers u get kicked. There is no bubble allowed in y game for boomers. No camping. If u can't do ur job you suck.

Look no one cares that you did it with a 30, or with 3 31s, or whatever......of course its possible, everyone has done this....dosent make you good, or whatever...thats not the point at all. For the most part 31s, and of course 30s, should be worrying about leveling up, and not about doing hard mode. No one wants to make it harder than it already is for no good reason....that is all

I ran Crota with 1 30, 3 31s, and 2 32s. The 30 knew what he was doing and never died, but can't say he was very helpful with killing enemy and downing Crota. Only took 2 attempts.
-
Ran Crota hard with 3 30's and 3 32's. One of the 30's runs the raid on a 32 so he knows the ropes. The other 30's are friends that just started playing and that was their highest toon. We got crota on our 4th attempt with this group. Communication is key. We do a couple dry runs calling out what would be happening if it was live and actually make all the movements. This really helps the rookies to absorb all the information coming their way.
-
We take 30's through 1 at a time, but only friends. We make them hide or put them in a bubble they die too easily.
-
i did hard crota with a level 30 in the team, couple of days ago, you can see on my stats i think, i was on my warlock. i am level 31 and we had 4 32s with us, but the 30 did have two 32 characters so he was well aware of what was going on.

I'd have been fine with the low level, and the inexperience, just so long as he was asking questions and LISTENING. Too often, people just don't listen. I had a group in normal last week where I was swordbearer. The whole group agreed, and we set off on killing sword Knight. Right as we kill the knight, one guy runs out front, grabs the sword and tries to hit crota. Instadeath. After wipe, we make certain everyone knows I'm swordbearer, and try again. Same thing happens. I ditch. Communication people. If you don't have a mic, at least turn up the volume and listen. If you are deaf, message someone. I can work with you. But communicate!

2 RepliesEdited by returnOFbroski: 2/28/2015 7:20:43 PMI was in a group the other day on HM Crota and we wanted a Titan to run agro with the middle strategy. Turns out the only Titan alt in the group was my lvl 30. Switched out characters, knocked it out, and I got some sweet gear. So it can be done, as long as there is some kind of strategy involved.

1 ReplyFriend was a 30 told him strategy he listened and helped down crota with his jelly horn didn't die once... All about the person behind controller sometimes he was more useful then some 32s
-
Like anyone but the swordbearer is in any worry of dying. Why not have a 30?
-
8 RepliesI did this at level 30 :)

2 RepliesI can't believe how ppl are reacting. He's not really worried about the 30 per say. Just the lack of experience in a raid that requires. "Oh you can't revive here!" Is an expression in a hard raid that would surprise me and make me leave. On normal fine we can kill oversoul but that is probably the same person that will say oh you can regen health or what's an oversoul. Do normal first! Become an asset not a burden.

12 RepliesCarried a 29 and 30 through it. We had 3 32s and 1 31. Its so easy doing crota hard. Only thing they gotta do is stay in the crystal room. The rest is up to the team.
-
2 RepliesOur group finished it with me as a 29. I guess you just don't have what it takes.
-
3 RepliesYou can 5 man crota is easy as hell get over it you piece of trash.
-
1 ReplyEdited by MDH TAFF: 2/28/2015 5:44:55 PMYou can 5 man hard Crota.
-
I've carried a lvl 30 thru crota before....not a big deal It's a game....
-
At least you didn't have a lvl 28 with a. Maxed out icebreaker (whoa so scary!) ask if he could join hard crota. He literally could not join! -_-
-
My opinion... A 30 can get through but he is an inconvenience and being carried completely in a 33 raid. For an LFG group id leave also. For a friend I'd be glad to help because Crota can be 4 manned easily with 2 Ghorns present.
